In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

traceybath · 15/06/2010 15:04

Blossoming - am sure there are some j brands in the liberty sale.

Sports day was chilly but good.

Romana - your plan sounds eminently sensible and love both those dresses.

LTEC - I hate it when that happens re. stuff being out of stock - most annoying.

DolceeBanana · 15/06/2010 15:18

Ooh had a lovely massage and pedi this morning.

Vaguely assembling a wish list for the nap sale...but too much umming and ahhing...as usual!

Feeling very good as managed to tick off a few items on my (everlasting, it seems,) to do list...Right, have booked swimming lessons for DS and DD; have sorted out the small matter of entertainment for DSs and DDs parties and sent off membership subscriptions to 2 local visitor attractions so we can go as much as we like in the hols...think your advice v sensible ABO!!! Thanks for that!

P.S. Carciofi - just love those leopard ballets! So comfy!

ApuskiDusky · 15/06/2010 15:33

Hi all, I'm trying to summon some enthusiasm for sales, but feel too uncomfortable and big to get excited. So I haven't posted in ages because I seem to have gone off clothes shopping for now .

Surely there must be something I want in the NAP sale - am off to have a proper look...(thanks for the insider guide on what will be discounted, hells, makes looking much easier!)

AllBuggiedOut · 15/06/2010 15:52

Just about to buy my first ever L&L scarf in my first ever cocosa order (am quite excited) but before I do, does anybody have a code I should know about?! TIA.

ApuskiDusky · 15/06/2010 15:55

BTW, Dolcee and Tracey, what do you think of Chipping Sodbury as an area to live? I will find out in the next few weeks whether my lovely company is likely to make me redundant whilst on mat leave, and if so, I have another kind-of offer for a job in central Bristol - DH would go contracting at Filton or Weston super Mare. We'd rather live outside Bristol, but still both have a manageable commute, and Chipping Sodbury might be an option. Got any thoughts?

traceybath · 15/06/2010 16:13

Chipping Sodbury itself isn't that great in my opinion. However if you go out a bit more towards badminton/tormarton area - there are some lovely villages.

Or pop across the m4 to the bath side where there are again a lot of really lovely villages still very close to the motorway junction. Also gives you access to another route into bristol if there are problems on the motorway.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/06/2010 16:28

carciofi - DD (4) is an only child. I had severe PND after she was born and it took a long time to get over it, so a second child is not an option. We often have her friends round and she is also really close to her cousins.

blossoming - So sorry about your loss. I had no idea...

Today I had facial, did some exercise and got a job offer, so it's been a lovely sunny day! I might do a colour and style consultation when I visit my best friend in Berlin in two weeks. I am still not sure if I am really an autumn... (don't like gold)

blossoming · 15/06/2010 16:30

No codes sorry allbuggiedout, but which scarf is it?

OP posts:
ApuskiDusky · 15/06/2010 16:34

Thanks, Tracey. The more I look into it the harder it seems to find a nice area that fits both our potential commutes. I suspect we might need to focus on North Somerset for M5 access, but I do really like the Bath / Keynesham area - just a bit of a pain for DH to get on the M5 I think, and he is much less tolerant of commuting than I am (he's had it too easy in the past!).

And that's before we join in on the fun that is house selling and house-hunting!

ApuskiDusky · 15/06/2010 16:36

Fritzi - job offer?! Spill!

blossoming · 15/06/2010 16:45

Sounds like a great day fritzi. Most people on this thread know I lost my 3 yr old in December. She had a virus and severe cerebral palsy.

I think it would be good idea to get a 'real' opinion if you can on your colours if you're unsure. Great day out anyway. There's nothing like doing something completely for yourself!

OP posts:
AllBuggiedOut · 15/06/2010 17:00

Scarf is the blue python. I even e-mailed a picture to my colour consultant to check it was ok She said it would suit autumns and springs.

Definitely get colours done fritzi; easy to misjudge your hair colour on that site, especially if it's coloured. I know I found it traumatic and am probably not he best advert for it(!) but I am glad I had it done and am sure my future purchasing will be much wiser.

blossoming · 15/06/2010 17:45

Nice scarf abo.
I'm wondering if the red leopard on the main l&l site is red enough for a winter. Looks a little orange to me!

Everyone get the jigsaw new in email today? Nice but massively exxy maxi dresses and I've got too many bretons haven't I?

OP posts:
biggerfeetsmallerboobs · 15/06/2010 17:49

Just stalking your thread(!) and abo, Grazia has a code for £15 off first order at Cocosa but only if you are joining as a new member. Am assuming you are already a member but you could always set up a new email and use that? Doesn't specify how much you have to spend - code is GraziaOffer. Love that scarf!

FritziGreenEyes · 15/06/2010 17:58

Apuski - Nothing fancy, I'm afraid. We've got a yoga studio nearby and the owner is looking for someone to do her admin, some marketing and basically all PA stuff. She asked me if I would be interested. The thing is I already have a job and work as an editor for an educational publisher. As much as I love creating books, the company is really treating us badly. Since having DD my boss doesn't appreciate my work at all and I am fed up. Staying would be the safe option but I am really excited by the prospect of some change. I'll discuss with DH when he gets home tonight. He'll probably roll his eyes as he is slightly amused by all the yoga/meditation stuff Good luck with the house hunt. Sounds like you have to make some big decisions, too.

blossoming - I know it is not MN etiquette, but big hug for you. I'm always a bit afraid I'll choose the wrong words when I try to express feelings or sympathy in English...

blossoming · 15/06/2010 18:03

Re Jimmy Choo sale. this is a bargain, right?

OP posts:
blossoming · 15/06/2010 18:11

Thanks fritzi.

My trawl of sale sites is over. Bottle for baby, before DH reclaims his pc.
He's back at the office tomorrow, so feel free to link...!

OP posts:
AllBuggiedOut · 15/06/2010 18:30

Thanks bigger - I haven't shopped with them before so I don't see why it wouldn't work, but for some reason it said it was expoired. So I've placed the order anyway (getting pannicky that it will sell out...) and e-mailed to ask them to deduct it. I will fuss if they refuse

The red leopard is lovely bloss but looks orange on my screen. But it's so hard to tell; the DP maxi I ordered the other night came today and is a grey-ish khaki, not the rich forest green it seems on my screen. So it's going back.

Cute handbag; love that colour!

Well done fritzi - how lovely to be wanted!

AllBuggiedOut · 15/06/2010 18:35

Tracey and I have that jigsaw dress bloss; be warned it's very see-through. It needs a belt too. I also have the top which I wore to my colours session, and I did realise it's not a great colour on me. But I love the fit and fabric so much I might try to dye it. If that fails, I will let you know and you can have the dress.

hf128219 · 15/06/2010 19:24

Carciofi I am an only child and never once have I felt a 'lonely' child. I have very close friends - in the main ones I met and grew up with at Boarding School.

I am also very close to my parents - now 77 and nearly 81. Unfortunately they live 450 miles away but we see a lot of each other.

I am not spoilt (although my mum has been off to the HN sale today! - it is my 40th soon!)

My dd (aged 2) will be an only child too.

Zembo · 15/06/2010 19:27

ABO just to say I ordered the fuscia python scarf at exactly 12 noon (incase I missed out as I often do!). Tracey thanks for letting us know about it.

Cake good to hear from you. Can't wait to hear about your purchases

DolceeBanana · 15/06/2010 19:58

Apuski - Depends on what sort of property you want, but I would personally look to the villages...around M4- M5 coridoor...although expect to pay a premium....

blossoming · 15/06/2010 20:16

Thanks abo. As I said I don't really need amother Breton!!

There's a modal swing vest in storm grey aswell. Anyone seen it in RL??

OP posts:
DolceeBanana · 15/06/2010 20:17

Apuski - North Somerset is good too! Wedmore is lovely! A large village really, and beautiful...Not twee...fab delis, coffee shops, smart homeware (Emma Bridgewater stuff galore), plus a very busy social aspect...fab state schools...outstanding OFSTEDS etc etc....I keep a second eye on that area too - because pound for pound, yer money goes further....

MarshaBrady · 15/06/2010 20:23

hello. Not much shopping going on here. Dukan works well, have changed shape. Plum how are you doing?

Don't suppose anyone did non-puree weaning? (or BLWing I suppose). How did you find it?
