We could join our scarves together & do it Everything. Sure it'd brighten the world up a bit .

traceybath · 15/06/2010 07:20

Esher - they are the belstaff boots I want - fingers crossed they do go in the sale - they are on the US site.

In terms of recession - DH is in IT which if anything seems to have got better over the last couple of years as companies invest in marketing in that area whilst cutting back on other media.

Right - am wearing dress and cropped denim jacket for sports day and Bea is just going to have to not feed for a few hours or I'll be flashing the headmaster which is not a good idea

MM - I did try one all saints jacket on and it was too long - I want something more cropped. Basically I want my new look pleather one but in lovely soft leather.

Romanarama · 15/06/2010 07:23

Hello everyone. It's OK really, just that you'd think an 82yo could sit and read a book or watch daytime telly 'til the kids get home, wouldn't you? Do I really need to be planning activities?

Anyway, I've been being mean and going out - I told her I've started working already so have to go to the office every day, and am about to go out for long coffee at a friend's house .

How's the bruising hells? tracey I think lifting skirts aged 5 is not something to worry about
Hello Fritzi
Cake are you there?

I just bought, in the end, this anglomania dress and also this one. I'm hoping they'll be the kind of dresses that are good for work, for not-very-formal evenings, and for the weekend too, and also comfy. Fingers crossed. I confess that I am seriously considering (ie have already booked and planned) a modest post-bf surgical enhancement this November, so am wary about investing too heavily in size 8s .

I'm not v.good at scarves. How do you wear them? I'm not v.good at accessories in general I think. I really like the See by Chloe bag you linked to Carciofi, I love colourful bags.

And nearly forgetting vin my mum called to say a black dress arrived for me in the post, so thanks! (Did I already post that yesterday - sorry if I'm being repetitive.)

Romanarama · 15/06/2010 07:30

Hells are these Belstaffs in the sale?

Thanks for all your comments about the recession - it makes me feel less gloomy to know that things are improving for some sectors. The idea that we are all entering an age of austerity would be really miserable.

OllieWollieWoo · 15/06/2010 07:51

Morning. Enjoy your morning at work coffee Roman - you have earnt it! Love the pink VW dress - likes like it would hang really well.

Esher - those boots are lovely.

Not sure how many of you like wearing grey but saw this maxi dress on the M&S site and quite liked it - the video is much better than the picture. No good for me as would wash me out but liked the style and that fact the belt made it quite fitted. here

OllieWollieWoo · 15/06/2010 07:51

Arse - my strikethrough didnt work!

ReineDeSaba · 15/06/2010 08:10

carcofi..that's hilarious..you little minx.

MM..i'm impressed you managed 200 pounds in h and m....did you find any cropped trousers in the end?

everything..sorry to hear your troubles but roma's advice is excellent.

roma..I love the subterfuge with m.i.l and I love those frocks.

so my outnet order arrived(links back on page 16)and suprise, suprise it's all wrong..the sandals are rubbing..the leather is pretty stiff and I expect to be uncomfortable in heels but flatties and nearly 300 quid..when I tried on the zebra dress I had reverse blossom(well done!)(..i.e no spanx over breakfast effectbut the weird pouffiness made me look like I'd forgotten to pull down my half removed other colthes when I was trying it on iyswim..and believe you me,I checked, and nothing thereI guess it makes sense that dropped waists were quite the thing for pregnant women at one time..will probably attempt a belt to see how that looks but can barely be bothered..pretty sure it will go back too..still money saved in these hard financial times[tightening of belt emoticon]

hells..am on FB but no S and B contacts on there..don't know how to suggest you find me?

carciofi · 15/06/2010 08:19

HF, thanks for the CNN link. Galerie Lafayette, here I come!

Roman, lovely dresses. Your MIL must have great energy for her age!

Reine, shame about the order.I have only bought one top from the Outnet, which fell apart after I wore it. I never got around to sending it back.

I feel very mean, at the weekend we decided no more babies but wonder if DD will hate being an only child. Is anyone an only child?

carciofi · 15/06/2010 08:20

OWW, thanks for the recipe, it looks delicious. Going to make it later this week.

hellsbelles · 15/06/2010 09:09

I'm at work so I have to be quick! Roma - yes they are in the sale. Tracey - I can now see your ones (I don't know why I couldn't find them before and they are too.

So as I got my NAP info so wrong...here's how I hope I can give you a little help getting your sale shopping basket ready for when it does happen!!

When you go to the nap site and click through to main categories - you get a whole lot of item pics come up..that is where you can see the signs 'new season', 'essentials' by the pics. If those signs are on then it's not in the sale...but other than that it's a free for all! My email said the preview sale ends at 12pm on the 18th of June....so I guess we can deduce that the main one starts after that?

My jeans and top were great. The blochs were uncomfortable so are going back. I'm going to get a few more bits but trying to be good! There are some lovely classic things though. It's worth checking out the blazers if you like that sort of thing as a lot of them seem to be in the sale and they look fairly classic....the sort that won't date.

blossoming · 15/06/2010 10:17

hells, d'you reckon the Jbrands will be in the sale? Need to size down (not so wise).

OP posts:
blossoming · 15/06/2010 10:26

carciofi, it's a hard decision isn't it.
I can't really comment as am one of 3 but I always wanted 3 of my own, and I did have three, but only for eight weeks. I thought I'd want to try for another but we've decided against it. Just grateful for what we've got.

LetThemEatCake · 15/06/2010 12:12

just sticking my head around the door to say hi. Lots going on, no time to discuss clothes, which is maddening as much to report on that front. Dad left this morning, mum arrives tonight, dh working on another no-time-to-breathe Jamie job, dc3 teething, I have 3 deadlines hanging over my unbrushed head and I am shredding every spare second I get. (slightly unnerved by Jillian Michaels, too scared not to shred quite frankly)

Hope everyone is well. As I said, no time to report on matters of the cloth(es) but since everything has already touched on it (thanks being concerned enough to check up on me everything. Whingeing is interesting choice of words. Note to self: must make effort to make FB status updates more meaningful) will just say that disappointingly, my Liberty order was cancelled as the items I ordered were out of stock. I guess me and that stripey Antipodium dress were never meant to be!!!

take care all!!

hellsbelles · 15/06/2010 12:18

Waves at cake - we miss you. Hurry back.

bloss - here - anything that is not marked essential or new season is in the sale...so there are quite a few. Including the houlihans

hellsbelles · 15/06/2010 12:38

me again...grabbing a bite to eat (o.k...a bit of chicken - boring eh!)...so I can also catch up.

Dukan update - I still feel great - much more energy than normal. I'm losing at a much slower rate now which he warned would happen when you move to the days of alternating protein & Veg plus protein but that's fine.

So sorry about the Smythson link. I've never actually ordered anything from them online but I did sign up as a 'subscriber!' so that might be why I can get the sale preview. May be worth doing if you are a Smythson fan.

Tracey - don't worry about DS1's cheekiness. My DS exposed his bottom at that age ...he's fine now . Also I just got the Sophie Dahl book as a belated birthday present. I seem to recall you saying some of the recipes don't work. Is it a book to just look at rather than cook from?

Roman - I love the dresses...I'm a fellow anglomania fan.

Carciofi - for quite some time I thought DS was destined to be an only child (because of my problems with pregnancies) and read a lot on the subject. As with everything there are so many pluses and minuses but it seemed that only children get all the same advantages as first children. I also rather liked our unit of 3. There was something rather unique and special about it. I hope you are viewing it in the same way.

carciofi · 15/06/2010 12:43

Blossoming, so sorry again about your DD. I am also one of three but found the first few months with DD hard. I suppose everyone does with a new baby. I'll just have to think it over some more.

LTEC, you must be excited about your mum coming.

I'll be coming straight home after DD's art class on Friday to log on to the NAP sale!

carciofi · 15/06/2010 12:45

Hells, just saw your post. Yes, I am happy with the three of us, it is more dh who thinks we should have another for dd's sake.
How is the bruising?

I'm so chuffed. I've got these in the sale. I can't remember who posted about them originally, possibly notyummy, and I thought I'd wait to see if they came up in the sale. Hurrah!! Only problem is that I won't be in the UK til mid July so will have to wait til then to try them.

Also Esher - a plainer alternative to the CL wedges.

dexter73 · 15/06/2010 13:24

Carciofi - I have one dd who is 13. It has never caused any problems.
Our decision was partly medical as I had quite a traumatic haemmorhage when dd was 9 days old and also because we never got the the point when we wanted another baby. I didn't want to have another baby because I felt I should, I wanted to want to have another one but never felt that way.
She has loads of friends locally and never seems to miss out because of it, if anything she is able to do more because we only have her to fit in with.

blossoming · 15/06/2010 13:59

Bugger, my jeans are 'essential'. They're 'essential' to me too!

Just did level 2 of the Shred. I love it. So easy to follow not like many workout DVDs.

Just had baby's 8 month check. She's on the very top for height!

carciofi · 15/06/2010 14:30

Dexter, that was exactly what I wanted to hear, thank you! She has lots of cousins and hopefully will be close to some of them.

Like the shoes, Bunjies.

If anyone wants these (size medium) let me know and I will send them on. I have worn them once and washed them.

Blossoming, House of Fraser may have J Brands on sale soon.
