In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

OP posts:

Bunjies - pretty skirt. Can't recall any tops - have you looked at Laura Ashley website tho? here
This is where we are going on holiday: here - they have had a cancellation for the week beginning 26th June so if you know of anyone looking for a gite based holiday....?

bunjies · 12/06/2010 16:10

Looks lovely OWW. I was going to suggest if you were in the Limousin I could meet up with you whilst your dh was away but the Charente is a bit too far unfortunately.

I tried the Laura Ashley site but no luck. Oh well, I could always go with white but fancied something different.

traceybath · 12/06/2010 16:57

Hello!

Back from sisters with quite short hair - think I like it.

Decided to visit bicester but drove round very busy carpark and couldn't be bothered.

So came home and ordered this which I'd been coveting for a while thanks to HF's code

LTEC - glad you had fun!

Esher - I love a bit of leopard but think you could find nicer Louboutins.

Have decided as you lot are all so good at exercising that I'm going to start running again. But I need something thats going to give me a waist and get rid of indent - so what will do that exercise gurus?

OllieWollieWoo · 12/06/2010 17:07

Thats would have been lovely Bunjies - maybe next year if we try a new location?!!!

Found this on the John Lewis website for you - but no sleeves:here Also this but may be way off re colour and size availability not good here

OllieWollieWoo · 12/06/2010 18:29

This cardi might go and then you could have a white vest underneath? here

hf128219 · 12/06/2010 18:52

Bloss Was this the DVF dress you linked to?

www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/product/Matches-Fashion/Dresses/diane-von-furstenberg-DVF-X-D1461844M10-d resses-BROWN/37631

hf128219 · 12/06/2010 19:00

Ah, just checked and it's not but the reduced one is very nice too.

OllieWollieWoo · 12/06/2010 19:49

Its quiet on here this evening - is everyone watching the footie?

traceybath · 12/06/2010 21:00

OWW - I've been busy cleaning as DH has been in charge of 2 dc's for 24 hours - mayhem has ensued. Although we now have a very clean store room .

Football on but I must confess I find it rather dull.

FritziGreenEyes · 12/06/2010 21:07

Hi there! I'm back from holiday. DH managed to join us at the beginning and end and we had a great time! Had a long uninterrupted chat this morning while DD was still asleep and blackberry still switched off

Football is on, so I can catch up on thread.

eshermummy · 12/06/2010 21:18

Football on here too but I am not watching - find it really dull too. Actually, can't wait for us to be out of World Cup as find the whole thing boring and I really dislike the whole jingoist xenophobic slant that the media takes on for the duration.

Tracey - hope you like your hair. Someone took a pic of me the other day and I thought my new longer hair looked horrible/did nothing for me so am considering going shorter again, only thing holding me back is that DH says he prefers it a bit longer

Hf - that DVF dress is nice, in fact quite a lot of nice things on the matches sale site.

Still thinking about the Louboutin leopard wedges but no way am going to pay full price so seems unlikely I will get them . Have been looking at other possibilities

here

here

here

Anyone got any opinions on any of those - I quite like the Emporio Armani ones - but am worried 3.9 '' will be out of my comfort zone. Normally a 3" heel is my limit but as wedges are more comfy......what do experienced wedge-wearers think? Are they just as uncomfy as normal heels at that height if they don't have a compensating platform at the front?

Where's Zembo?? She knows about shoes

traceybath · 12/06/2010 21:23

Esher - hope you're feeling better and that DD is doing well.

I like the harlow ones - they're lovely.

Lots of nice things on matches but not massive reductions yet.

Fritzi - glad holiday went well.

DD has got four little spots on her arm and ds2 has one on his foot and one on his arm - they look a bit like chicken pox but don't think they are as DS has had them already. They look a bit like insect bites but don't think they are - most odd.

eshermummy · 12/06/2010 21:32

Tracey - we had the weird spots that weren't chicken pox before half term, as did a few of dd's friends. Neither of mine has had CP despite being exposed to it lots of times at school/nursery. Like you I didn't think they were insect bites but we didn't develop into CP either, most strange.

I was looking at a couple of DVF dresses that were 40-50% off, I thought that was quite a good discount, how much lower would you think they'd go?

Fritzi - glad hols were good and your DH managed to spend some time with you and dd.

traceybath · 12/06/2010 21:37

Esher - I didn't look at matches thoroughly but my perception was that there was a lot with 30% off and after looking at liberty with 50% off it didn't seem a lot .

Also there was nothing I was desperate for so thought I'd wait and see what happens when they do further reductions.

Well - the football was very dull indeed - and do we have a month of this ahead and not even WAGS outfits to look at - boring.

eshermummy · 12/06/2010 21:41

Aaaahhhh ok, was worried that I was being a bit amateur in my approach to sales and jumping in too soon.

Got a Q for you re NAP sale, will things in my basket automatically reduce if they go into sale or should I put them on wish list or will they empty all baskets before Mon am anyway (a la Boden)?? Whaddya reckon?

traceybath · 12/06/2010 21:45

Am a NAP amateur - I blame this thread for new nap habit

But I've put things on my wishlist. Also what time will sale start - please be after I've dropped DS1 off at school. He can't really be late because of 'mummy's shopping'.

Thank goodness its not on tuesday as we have sports day then.

Romana - how are you coping with MIL? FIL has just friend requested me on facebook - I think not.

eshermummy · 12/06/2010 21:51

Lol at late because of 'mummy's shopping' but yes, hope it starts after drop-off. Might have to nip back between dd1's school drop and dd2's nursery drop and take dd2 in late though

Hmmm, may cover all bases by adding to wish list and basket

AllBuggiedOut · 12/06/2010 21:58

Thanks so much for your encouraging words; they mean a lot. I think I was disappointed because they're not the colours I'm instinctively drawn to, eg I love that Chloe dress with the blues and pinks that's been linked to a few times, and it's sad to have it confirmed that it wouldn't suit me. But... I am now back from a day shopping in Norwich with my mum (a "summer" who gets to wear all those pretty colours...) but I think I found my inner Sarah Jessica Parker and have come home with bagfulls of goodies! Most stuff was from Zara so I don't think I can link, but basically khaki shorts, nude bubble skirt, brown cami, beige faux-leather short sleeved jacket, khaki tee with gold studs over the shoulder and coral tee.

From H&M some khaki 3/4 cargo pants (very flattering fit), another cami and some slightly odd (but I'm hoping useful) jersey cropped khaki trousers.

Had never come across Max Studio before, but this dress is amazing; I got the dark brown. And this in pink is cute as anything, and i hope I'll be brave enough to wear it on the school run.

Shoes were a big disappointment; am wondering whether to go for toast Alexas, but I also remember talk on here of some gold glads from R&B - is that right?

That saffron colour is nice carciofi, and would work well with all the khaki I bought!

Definitely get colours done roman; it was great to have a focus for the shopping, and to know that everything I bought will mix and match. But, if you're anything like me, be prepared for it to be quite emotional! Even friends who have been delighted to be the season they hoped for found it emotional, although ultimately fab!

DS2 had spots like you describe a few weeks back tracey. They faded overnight.

Glad you had a good holiday fritzi.

hf128219 · 12/06/2010 22:04

all clovetwo.com/articles/story.asp?file=/2008/5/15/fashion_invogue/20990540&sec=fashion_invogue I think this is the right Max

That dress is great.

traceybath · 12/06/2010 22:04

Buggied - sounds like a good day! I love those sludgey colours - particularly khaki.

eshermummy · 12/06/2010 22:12

ABO - MM linked to Max studio site the other day and I thought it looked great, loads of lovely things. Do they have actual stores in the UK then? Not sure if there are any near me?
As for your colours - I actually was going to say that it's good that you were a bit about what they told you. All the most successful transformations on Gok, Trinny/Tranny et al start with the person being really unconvinced .
At least they didn't tell you you were already wearing your correct colours, I think that would be worse - you pay the money only to be told you'd sussed it already and there's no further room for improvement

AllBuggiedOut · 12/06/2010 22:25

Good point esher

The Max Studio stuff was in House of Fraser. There was loads I'd liked to have tried but ran out of time! And the Label Lab was a bit of a revelation too; kind of All Saints-y but warmer colours and not so scary! Also in HoF.

Fleecy · 12/06/2010 22:31

ABO where do you live? I live in Norwich! Was not shopping in town today though!

I love the autumn colours. Easy to mix and match them.

esher I wanted to like the Sebastian ones as that is DS' name but I like the House of Harlow ones the best.

AllBuggiedOut · 12/06/2010 22:53

Ooh lovely fleecy, I really like Norwich! I live near Colchester which is not great for shopping. Staying with my parents at the moment who are just outside Bury St Edmunds. Where do you shop for shoes in Norwich? I usually find something I like in Ward & Wright but there was nothing I liked today

KristinaM · 12/06/2010 23:00

hi wise and avid girls.......i usually only lurk but i got this bargain £30 dress today from uniqlo and thought of you Its really lovely, much better quality than usual from uniqlo and beautifully cut.

I am also tempted by this bubble dress, which is also £30 but the neck is too high for me ( have not tried it on)

I got free postage as i spent £60
