In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 13:51

good point bloss - and great news about dd's hearing!!

Level 2 is good!! am seeing results, which amazes me. I went for a run this morning and my shape in my running tights looked much sleeker, I think. Have lost a couple of pounds too but that's prob more down to diet, I guess.

Dukan site says I should be 9st13!!

mm the dress is this one. Also, if you fancy that brown dress I linked to the other day here you can get it for £65 with hf's code SALEPREV50

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 13:52

no way hells!! The Tam Tam rides again. Hope we both love it.

florenceuk · 11/06/2010 14:01

You can get tickets for Chelsea from the Royal Horticultural Society website - can't remember when they release them but maybe around Xmas time or slightly later? If you are a member you can go earlier in the week (Mon/Tues) when the flowers are looking slightly fresher (but it will still be very crowded). The crowds do thin out loads towards the end of the day though (6-7pm) - sometimes I've gone just from 3pm, which is fine. However if you are referring to the gala opening I think that is a rather swisher affair for which you pay lots of money.

DolceeBanana · 11/06/2010 14:20

Tracey - like the blouse..love pretty white blouses!

Everything - awww, sorry to hear that your holiday did not make you and DH newly bond...Do you think he is aware at all about how you truly feel? You sound quite sorted though, and so, at the very least, you have gained some confidence in dealing with it all. Keep your chin up....

Hells - can symapthise over the manipulation thing with Mummy! Maybe it is pre-wedding nerves...but I do understand how a 30 something woman (you!), can be reduced to feeling like a teenager by their Mother. I am 'keeping in' with mine, through gritted teeth, because I don't want a huge fall-out, and, (selfishly!), I do want to go to our good friends wedding. I do make, and will continue to make an effort with mine, but I don't think she fully appreciates it - and does compare 'other peoples relationships' with their Mother, and is found wanting! She can be quite childish, and I have decided that I am going ignore her barbed comments, and stop playing the game. I am not going to try to please her at all costs, any more...because frankly, her attitude just gets worse. My Mother thinks unconditional love goes 1 way!

Cake - sandals are fabuloso! (Love dress too-that's my kind of dress!)I have long skinny feet and they do swell (rather attractively!) in intense heat, so I would put it down to that...and you'd probably have a problem in any shoes. So I say keep them....may copy you actually. I have tramped around in flatties for so long, and have newly found my inner Tracey ! Love those heels! So feminine! And, yes, they would be fab with grey skinnies!

DolceeBanana · 11/06/2010 14:31

Am strangely tempted by these little cuties

DolceeBanana · 11/06/2010 14:49

one for you Cake

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 15:24

aaaah, you;re sweet Dolce. I've got this Phoenix dress which I love to bits.

Less enamoured of my purple Oushka Phoenix bag .. will ebay when the weather turns I think. Much prefer the grey Oakley (snaps with hells)

hellsbelles · 11/06/2010 15:34

oh LTEC - meant to say - if you are trying to build up traffic to your blog - have you tried getting some reciprocal links? It won't help your google rankings much but if you are linking to blogs you like (and getting them to link back to you) then in theory you'll get their traffic.

Whelk · 11/06/2010 16:27

everything Aw I'm sorry to hear that. Good for you trying so hard though.

monkeysmama · 11/06/2010 16:33

I've ordered both dresses and another green one from sale site before I realised it was 100% viscose. Can send it back though.

I've just tried the House of Harlow shoes on again and unbelievably I don't like them as much anymore. They seem to look a bit cheap. Some of the scales have started to curl up and the fit isn't perfect. I annoy myself with my unwise shopping and obsessions which lead to stupid shopping .

Anyway, Cakey hope you shine tonight. Will be sending you telepathic (?) vibes of support.

I am now wearing a football shirt, as is dd who looks so cute. Especially as it is an Italy shirt and she is running round with her hands up shouting "Tottenham" . Hells forgot to say the other day but my sister who plays for Spurs girls won Spurs Girls Player of the Year last week. She is 11. [eversoproudemotiocon]

monkeysmama · 11/06/2010 16:41

Everything that's hard. I've been through divorce (s) myself and it isn't easy but I totally agree with your comment about affairs. My first (very young) marriage ended because of one (bastard) and it was crippling. I hope you have some lovely rl people around you. My second marriage ended without anyone else being involved but it was very painful and lonely. Some of my friends suggested it was "just admin" after the love had gone and I think I thought it would be reasonably pain free. Probably just me but the most painful thing in my life was sorting out cds with ex-dh. Hope that isn't too depressing. Just mean that I've been through it if I can be of any help. There is life the other side.

blossoming · 11/06/2010 17:12

Sorry to hear of your experiences monkeysmama. Brave decisioneverything, but you and your dc deserve more.

Am off into 'town' tonight to celebrate dh's 40th. Trying the new wine bar/bistro. Let's just say it's had mixed reviews. (They're a tough lot these locals). Has the best toilets in town though. And my cleaner's friends were thrown out for not being smart enough!

Bloss Good to hear the hearing test went well.

I was wise in the Liberty sale and bought a necklace for one of the ladies at dd's nursery who is leaving to go travelling.

And a Lanvin tie for my dad.

Cooking very un-Dukanesque food tonight.

Smoked Salmon Blinis, Coquilles St Jacques, Duck a l'Orange, Dauphinoise Potatoes and Greens.

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 18:00

also sending my support everything. Am glad you have made a decision and hope that you will find peace with it, not to mention loads of happier times ahead!!

thanks for your support mm. And sorry to hear about your experiences. Am glad you have found happiness now with dp and dd.

any final votes for an outfit tonight??

now that ds1 is in pants and the weather's warmed up, I've reverted to cloth nappies for ds2 (had a 'break' which lasted 7 months, much longer than I anticipated ). Anyway, went out to buy flushable nappy liners > and ended up buying www.nancydee.co.uk/retail/index.php?this dress It looks really very nice in RL, judging from the reactions I got from random punters when I emerged from the changeroom Can also be pushed down and worn as skirt with a tank so 2 items for price of one, non?? >

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 18:00

ooops

this dress

Fleecy · 11/06/2010 18:08

roma - LTEC has an excellent memory. I'm a shade under 5ft8, size 8 on top and 10 below and the small is fine. From what I remember, you're slightly slimmer?

vin - from what you've said about the funeral, it sounds as if you'll feel guitly and regretful if you don't go. On a happier not, thanks for your email today. Am very excited and most grateful!

everything ? nice to see you back online but sorry to hear about you and your DH. Not an easy decision to make

blossoming · 11/06/2010 18:09

Mmm, your meal sounds lovely hf. Wonder what I'll get..
In fact, just had a cheese sandwich, to stop me ordering unwisely.

ltec, hope you have a great time and be your most fabulous, witty, beautiful self. (I'm still voting skinnies and louboutins though..!)

OP posts:
Fleecy · 11/06/2010 18:28

Oh yes - knock 'em dead LTEC

Romanarama · 11/06/2010 18:39

Yes - good luck cake.

Everything - loads of support from here too. I think if I were you I would think about why we got together in the first place and reflect on whether that was something I wanted back. I know that lots of people get married because they've been together for ages or wanted children or something but not necessarily because they were so crazy about each other that they couldn't imagine not getting married. If that was the case I think it would be harder to imagine any life back in the relationship.

But I know nothing about anything so will shut up now.

Didn't buy anything from Liberty, though I love that dress and may see whether it's still there.

MarshaBrady · 11/06/2010 19:13

Oh Everything lots of support from me too. I would echo Roman and just check what it was that was great at the beginning, but other than that you must do what you will to be happy.

LTEC haha yes I am going to have words with the mkting dept about the website . Enjoy tonight, just got back from being out and the weather is fabulous! (oh and go for the dress)

Very yummy hf, could have the duck!

blossoming · 11/06/2010 19:18

I'm wearing the snogging outfit but with flats and my lily & lionel scarf.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 19:20

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 19:21

roary · 11/06/2010 19:23
