In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

OP posts:
Romanarama · 11/06/2010 08:10

I can't work out where to put the SALEPREV50 bit in - I give up!

hf128219 · 11/06/2010 08:26

Roman Promotion code box is under where your shopping bag isand voila

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 08:37

hells I would have been exactly the same; I jibber at the choice in Zara and H&M fgs!!

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 08:51

Roma I think fleecy has a vwa in s and she is a touch shorter and a size 8-10 iirc

hellsbelles · 11/06/2010 09:11

morning all - I'm at work so better do some! Though I'm slightly weird today after a huge argument with my mother. She is the queen of manipulators and although has been better for some time now she threw a huge one last night and I was sent spinning back into horrible teenage years!

Reine - sorry missed your earlier question about work...are you FB friends with Fleecy - what are you initials? I'll FB you.

I feel miles better about my sale stupidity thanks to soothing words of the A&W gang. The Liberty sale is great! I got home to an email too. Will do links later but I'm trying out a Jason Wu dress and a blue one (can't remember who by)...and sorely tempted by another Rick Owens jacket - this time grey and suede...though may be a bit 80's.

monkeysmama · 11/06/2010 09:22

Cakey lovely to hear you having such a happy day. Vin I didn't know you were based locally. You know my address (from sending me the jeans ) - are we near each other?

Right, I am buying the dress my style icon Tracey suggested. I will be wearing it with the House of Harlow shoes. What kind of clutch and cover-up would you go for? Would black be too harsh? I fancy getting a new clutch anyway but am wondering if I should go for a bright colour like orange with that dress? I also really like this dress but I can't see it in that colour on their site to buy.

Thinking about this too from Reiss sale for general wear.

Ollie so sorry to hear about your holiday but pleased you have a way of sorting it out.

Roma I was thinking of you with mil there yesterday. I am going on holiday for a week with mil, fil, sil, her husband and two kids next week. There was me thinking I'd wangled it so we would only have to spend a day with sil and her family but seems dp has outwitted me and they'll actually be with us for three whole days and two nights .

What to wear int this weather? I have on pale skinny jeans, the M&S gold ballet pumps (with insole - they're very baggy), a white and navy breton top and am thinking about throwing on my old beige mac. Right, off dancing.

blossoming · 11/06/2010 09:42

Sorry to hear that hells. My mum can be quite manipulative too. Never worse than just before my wedding. I hate being left seething like a teenager still sometimes and almost 40. Hope you sort it out.

Off for baby's hearing test 18 miles away. What a pain. You'd think they could hold more local clinics. Used to go all the time for one thing or another with dc2. Could do without it tbh.

traceybath · 11/06/2010 10:09

Romana - I was looking at that dress too. Here it is on NAP where you can see it on the model.

I decided it would be too long for me so perfect for you I'd have thought.

I've got a size small in the other anglo dress and it fits fine but its not as drapey and I'd have gone for an xs in the red. Worth a go at that price though.

MM - lol at style icon - if only you could see me now in scruffy sorting out clothes. Have just deposited lots of stuff at charity shop and now getting sorted in anticipation of going to my sisters later to get my hair done.

Was then contemplating popping into bicester tomorrow but have decided against it as I really want those belstaff boots and some new j brands and this - golly - greedy emoticon needed here.

LTEC - what did you order?

Hells - your mum is being very naughty - whens the wedding - can it be excused as pre-wedding nerves?

carciofi · 11/06/2010 10:27

HF, thanks so much for posting that code. I ordered the navy APC blazer, really liked it when LTEC spotted it a while ago. Shame the red bag I liked is sold out.

Tracey, that top is lovely.

Hells, hope you are ok. Is your nanny better?

MM, I'm wearing pretty much the same outfit as you today.

OWW, sorry about your holiday.

vinauchocolat · 11/06/2010 10:28

Roman a small in VW would fit you fine

mm glad they fit! Yes not far I think, same first bit of postcode! Not sure exactly where you are but I'm near the park used to live on the street by park entrance but have since moved to 2 streets back

ltec sounds like you had a lovely day! I wasn't here yesterday but would usually have bumped into you and your braeburn haul!

Well whoever linked to liberty, you are very naughty, I have spent a fair whack of time this morning BFing at laptop drooling over various items I could quite happily order! I have been really good this month, honest. My biggest expense so far has been a whole stash of purell hand gel! paranoid? yes. Also ordered some books from hammicks and paid but got email saying they are not printed until 2011! I don't mind, at least they are up to date..

vinauchocolat · 11/06/2010 10:35

mm hurrah for getting the tracey dress! I's lovely. I think orange could work well on that base.. or something like cobalt blue?
The dress has a touch of black in it so black cover-up would be fine

tracey lovely shirt

hells sounds like you did well in selfridges actually, I'd have panicked and either bought loads of things or completely stood there fretting and would have left with nothing, sounds like you were very wise!

vinauchocolat · 11/06/2010 10:40

Love the reiss sale one too!

Hmm I am trying to work out if I should go to my friend's funeral I have been invited, but it's a long drive away, and I have a small BFing DC. But I think this may be one of those times when I sort of have to go even though it's really difficult, as I think I need to pay my respects. Argh I hate this kind of thing. I have never met her family, it may be good for them to see I am 'well' and it's sort of the last thing I can do for her, as her friend...

Whelk · 11/06/2010 10:57

Vin I would go. I think it is always nice for a family to see how loved someone was and also to see all the different elements of her life come together. BF-ing dc could come with you (I bf-ed in my grannie's funeral )

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 11:47

mm you are going to look stunning in that dress

vin it will be a tough day I think but you will no doubt feel lousy if you don't go.

tracey I didn't order anything very exciting - just a few t-shirts for dh and this t-shirt dress for me plus this dress which I'd ordered in an Australian site sale for mum to bring over, but then missed out on as the S was sold out and the last remaining M damaged. So worked out well as have got the S and even less ££ than from the Aussie site.

carciofi glad one of us has got that lovely blazer!!

hells sorry about your mum. Mine has that effect on me sometimes too. Hope you feel better over the course of the day.

A question, please ladies. The sandals I loved and bought and then thought were too small for me ... I tried them again this morning and they fit perfectly, not mention looking fabulous with my snakeskin dress, grey skinnies and various other things.

Did I just have swollen feet the other day?? should I keep them?? I love them!!

Whelk · 11/06/2010 11:56

LTEC - i love them and I am positively drooling over the dress.

Was it hot the other day when you tried them on? (Laughs uproariously at the idea of hot weather at the moment). That makes my feet swell.
I vote to keep!

Hi everything - I'm glad to hear your holiday was good. Did it help things with your dh?

Quickly dashing in...

MM - tracey dress looks potentially fab! You will be gorgeous.

Blossoming - good luck with hearing test

TB - wedding is just a few weeks off. Maybe it is that. I didn't think it through properly - you are wise . I think the blouse you linked to is very very pretty.

LTEC - tricky one with the shoes. As you know I have a pair of unworn hasbeens sitting in my wardrobe because of the 'sometimes they do fit, sometimes they don't' situation...and honestly - it's when I want to wear them that they don't...and when I'm thinking of ebaying them that they do!

But those shoes are more likely to get an airing in the evening so it's likely to be cooler and feet subsequently at their smallest? The weather is supposed to be getting hotter again this weekend so perhaps try them a few more times to test the theory.

And I put the same dress as you in my basket...before I saw you had. My taste is getting better

hellsbelles · 11/06/2010 12:32

so sorry about x-post everything. Sorry to hear that you are still struggling with DH.

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 12:58

which dress hells? the Vince? am glad you say that as I was unsure, having not seen it on a model but I think it has Tam Tam potential, v.useful and easy.

marsha at your marketing chat do you think you might mention that the website is scant on details (length etc) and that the clothes need to be on mannequins?? ta very much!

the thing about the shoes is that if I am to keep them, I would like to wear tonight with the Maje dress. Tonight is that party with dh's old uni gang about which I am a bit anxious.

blossoming · 11/06/2010 13:31

ltec, don't wear anything that might make you feel paranoid! Fabulous and well fitting all the way.

Baby has perfect hearing. Such a relief to have good news from that place.

Off to Shred. How's level 2 going ltec?

OP posts:
monkeysmama · 11/06/2010 13:34

Good news Bloss Cakey can you link to dress as a reminder? As Bloss said, make sure whatever you wear you feel fab in. I have a few pairs of shoes like that and I am always worried about wearing them.

carciofi · 11/06/2010 13:39

Everything, sorry to hear about your situation.

Vin, I think you should go to the funeral if you can.

LTEC, if the shoes fit you now and you love them, definitely keep them.

Yay, Baby Blossoming!

hellsbelles · 11/06/2010 13:39

I am such a numpty. LTEC I've just realised it's the one I tried to put you off before (because of dipped hem)!!! Shows how different pics can make me see things differently.

Also can I ask a favour - how do you get tickets for The Chelsea Flower Show? I'm keen to get some for my mum as a surprise next year.
