In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

DolceeBanana · 10/06/2010 14:11

Hells - It probably makes quite a bit of difference, whether you are fine/medium or larger boned....doesn't it, to the actual net result ...and predicted weight loss?

I'm fine boned too-and so at 5'4, 8 stone something is okay for me....whereas medium or larger boned may think that's way too small...

I must get the book, because it sounds like a sensible-ish eating plan for life....

Funny Roma, we have friends who were disappointed with Tresanton. It was v busy when they went and they had a small room, and complained, because they felt that it did not live up to expectations, was cramped and too hot (in June)...Its such a shame when that happens - because it all depends on the room ...

Reine - sure your lo will be back to fighting weight v soon...children naturally dip when they've been poorly, so it is to be expected...I have 3 and you do worry. Just keep an eye and offer more feeds to keep her weight stable. Purchases sound fab!

DolceeBanana · 10/06/2010 14:27

Well I had a similarly glam morning moving 3 car seats around! Then to the park, then lunch with 3 little banshees!

Btw, my 8 mo, previously a v quiet, sunny, little thing has taken to screeching in a frustrated and irritated manner at everything possible....Okay, I know we are a loud household...she must be mimicking her siblings? Ho hum...

She's trying to crawl, which is a funny sight, and I thnk getting terribly frustrated with not being as mobile as her bro and sis!

Those boots look good TB...!

roary · 10/06/2010 15:39

sob sob - I had the Anglomania dress all ready to check out. I am going to go sulk now.

Bloss, I will check out the leopard dress again - it did look lovely but it may not be fancy ENOUGH for the events, two of them are evening...

Tracey, I have to be v careful with strapless as unless they are a high neckline they really don't suit me.

Will keep looking - let me know if anyone sees anything! LTEC found some great reg day dresses for bfing a while ago but NONE of them have appeared online as far as I can see.

Reine, how old are your kids? If the little one is over 2 months and was growing happily till she got ill I'd give it some time before you get worried. I think we may have about the same age gap!

hf128219 · 10/06/2010 16:11

SALEPREV50 gives a 50% discount on sale items on line at Liberty.

ReineDeSaba · 10/06/2010 17:18

Thanks roary..I was a bit upset just after visit as hv not particularly tactful about any of it and started talking about possible effects of the meningitis longterm as well, quite bluntly too,and I'd like to move on from it all But I do feel dd2 is thriving, alert and happy so recovered pretty quickly..Am I correct in thinking your dc1 is 2?..mine is 3 and dd2 is about 2 and a half months..good luck on dress hunt

blossoming · 10/06/2010 17:25

roary, I say go straight to the (dvf) source!!

OP posts:
AllBuggiedOut · 10/06/2010 17:39

Fab code hf but, and I may be being dim here I can't find the sale stuff

blossoming · 10/06/2010 17:41

Not enough clothes by half in Red magazine, but I do like this bikini. Good price too.

what an unbelievably lovely, happy day

monkeysmama and vin you are so lucky to live where you do. Have had the nicest day there with my boys. Don't want to 'out' your location so will just say that I entertained and exhausted them with pirates, cannons. kings, elephants and building blocks and then, after they fell asleep in the double buggy, I drank fabulous coffee and ate vegan raw food from the market (totally yum), bought a lovely, lovely dress for a fiver and my fave Braeburn apples from M&S.

So many fab clothes!! I don't think I'd ever shop online again if I had daily access to all of that gorgeousness.

Haven't read posts so am not up to speed at all but hope everyone else has had a good day.

PS - above-mentioned lovely dress really needs a Carrie-style black studded belt, so if anyone sees one, please shout

Fleecy · 10/06/2010 17:54

roary I also have the VW dress in purple and agree it's not for bfing.

tracey I had my eye on these as I think they'd be comfortable and go with loads.

Also hanker after this as it's so versatile and such a flattering colour. So we'll see...

Mustn't spend too much as I have today booked flights to Jersey (£80 return including taxes - not bad!) to go stay with my dearest friend for a few days. She moved over there around six years ago and I don't see nearly enough of her. So we're having a shopping and cocktail-filled couple of days together and I need to save my pennies for that.

I have tried several different things on the Dukan calculator and I have had a different result each time.

blossoming · 10/06/2010 17:55

After all this home sewing I think I deserve a real dress. Maybe for my 40th, in Oct. I love this. Perfect, no?.

Glad you had a great day ltec.

carciofi · 10/06/2010 18:41

Hi all, really like all the animal print shoes and dresses! I ordered leopard print Converse.

I like those Belstaff boots too, Tracey.

I'd like this bag if it goes in the sale.

Don't see anything I like in the My-wardrobe sale (phew).

Eshermummy, we don't have a 4x4, is it a prerequisite for living in Surrey? ;)

Thanks LTEC, will avoid that school. That is a lovely photo of you in Rome, btw.

carciofi · 10/06/2010 18:46

Blossoming, that dress is gorgeous.

OllieWollieWoo · 10/06/2010 19:05

Permission to swear VERY loudly, stamp foot and shout Nooooo!! Rang our holiday home to check arrival time on Saturday etc only to find out that there has been a big mix up with our booking form and we are not expected there for another week!!!!
So, I now have:

  • One v grumpy DH who was supposed to start his new job mid way thro the second week of the revised holiday dates;
  • One decorator who is supposed to start painting in 4 different rooms of the house on Monday whilst we were supposed to be away;
  • a bedroom full of neatly folded clothes/holiday stuff ready to be put in various bags etc;
  • 2 excited DSs who think we are off on Saturday and have said goodbye to friends/teachers etc!

Partly my fault, requested the 19th June start date months ago, didnt fill in the booking form for a couple of months as had already paid deposit which was carried over from our stay last year, lost form, requested new form and saw the different date but thought I'd cocked up by not getting back more promptly etc and it was already booked by someone else so accepted earlier date but owner had me down for original date and didnt spot it on returned booking form - if all that makes sense???
Had a good cry so thats out of my system so now gone into crisis management. DH has arranged an all day strategy meeting on the second Monday back in Holland that he just can't get out of so think he will be getting the high speed train from France back home for 3 days leaving me with DSs and the car and then returning to finish the holiday! Not ideal but better than missing out on a whole week or paying for a new house for next week. These things always happen to me - should have queried change of date but didnt want to cause a fuss - story of my life!!!!

Now need to decide what to do re decorator/bedroom full of clothes etc. One good thing - at least the rain may have gone by the time we get there

hellsbelles · 10/06/2010 19:18

OWW - that's so awful. Poor you.

Blossoming...I can't get the link to work.

I should be thrown off the A&W thread. I am a disgrace. I had 30 mins to shop the preview sale in Selfridges (had to be back to get DD to bed etc). I thought there would be a little room with all the stuff laid out but got there to discover it was the whole floor...and you had to check on tickets to see if they were old or new season.

If they were old then they were 50% off. Perfection I hear you cry. Not if you are me. I went into a frenzy of panic and couldn't find anything. I am an idiot. I managed to find one DKNY short trench which is o.k...but that's it.

Off to hang my head in shame.

traceybath · 10/06/2010 19:31

OWW - thats my worst nightmare - you poor thing!

Hells - I'd have done the same - am not terribly good at RL sales shopping - just too much stuff to go through.

MarshaBrady · 10/06/2010 19:35

Hells 30mins isn't long. Add in department store lights/noise fatigue etc and you did very well.

Love all the NaP links, my eyes glaze over when I try to sort through everything.

MarshaBrady · 10/06/2010 19:37

Oh Ollie bad luck you poor thing, co ordinating holidays / dates is stressful.

blossoming · 10/06/2010 19:55

Poor you ollie, you're coping much better than I would.

This always happens with my dvf links (sulks).

OP posts:
hf128219 · 10/06/2010 20:16

Ollie Oh, that is crap. Poor you.

Allbuggied Key in 'sale preview' into seach box on Liberty and the sale items come up, then use the promo code at check out.

Hells Blast, never mond though. NAP may come up trumps.

Carciofi 4x4 is da thing in Surrey, along with spray on mud

Bloss I love that DVF dress

OllieWollieWoo · 10/06/2010 21:56

Thanks for making me fell better! Am thinking of all the positives by going a week later: better weather (hopefully), more time to slim down for beachwear, DS1 gets to go to his school summer party, I get more time to perfect my packing, we can take longer to drive down and stay overnight instead of doing the 5am run! So its all good (just ignoring the 250euros trainfare for DH scoot back to Holland!)

Hells - i really sympathise with you in Selfridges, I would have been exactly the same. I have the same feeling in supermarkets - go in for lots, come out with nothing! My friend went to a Boden warehouse sale yesterday and said she ran around and came out with hardly anything it was so overwhelming. Better than buying loads of mistakes - very wise shopping iyam!
Blossoming - the DvF linked worked on third attempt. Love it, love it, love it!

florenceuk · 10/06/2010 23:45

LTEC, didn't you like this APC jacket here in 8,10,12 - if you apply the SALEPREV50 code at check out you get 50% off...

Sadly the Burberry trench has only a size 14 and 16 left. I bought this though: necklace no discount, just used my £5 voucher - not very wise I'm afraid!

LetThemEatCake · 11/06/2010 00:20

OWW that is mega-stressful and irritating, am throwing lots of Aussie expletives around on your behalf!!

hf thanks loads for that code - have just spent a profitable (or the opposite) hour shopping at Liberty, so to speak. Afternoon tea not included (bugger)

thanks florence, what a memory!! decided against blazer in the end as they feel a bit restrictive and I have claustro issues ...

ReineDeSaba · 11/06/2010 07:09

Morning!

hells..I couldn't cope with a 30minute timeslot..it's all a bit supermarket sweep for me..sounds like you were extremely wise..I have just been perusing the liberty sale preview because of the brilliant code hf gave us and That has made me feel panicky let alone rl sales shopping!

oww poor you..

Romanarama · 11/06/2010 07:42

How annoying OWW and hells I wouldn't even have gone - far too stressful. I am also in a panic on the Liberty site already - have about 2000 worth of stuff in my basket which frankly is not OK even at 50% off. Would an anglomania jersey dress in size S fit me at size 8 (I'm quite tall)? There's a nice red one here. I think I will order and see. Plus a Marc by Marc Jacobs long puffa which will be good for AW
