Fleecy - yes, its not working somehow...its a Great Plains Tye Dye stripey dress/top...I like it a lot! Great with skinnies, leggings, jeggings I think.... will be on their web site

DolceeBanana · 23/04/2010 16:32

They have some nice maxi's too, girls....

everything....I hate that too. Wallis have been prime offenders this season - didn't they have a leather top as well that was everywhere in the fashion press but never ever in the shop or website. I can't understand the logic? Is it too expensive for them to produce so they do a small number as a sort of loss leader and hope people flock to the stores and then will get tempted by something else when they discover it's not there. IMO it just pisses everyone off.

Ughhhh

Dolcee - can't see your link either....but agree with your advice on breastmilk! Poor old DD was constantly getting it used on everything...dry skin, gunky eye blah blah!

hellsbelles · 23/04/2010 16:37

oh meant to say - I saw my friend looking totally gorgeous in a sort of tie dye blue top (sound horrid but was nice)...she said it was from Velvet (not mint velvet)...has anyone seen anything from them?

Fleecy - I'd love to be able to do that clashing thing and have a few younger friends that are masters at it. When I do it I look like a demented maiden aunt.

DolceeBanana · 23/04/2010 16:44

Fleecy - like the scarf and great fab price!!! Yes, clashing good, have to stop myself being too matchy too ! Looks too contrived I suppose....Looking for a white background bobble scarf now! Plus, need new ballet pumps (would like good quality leopard skin, anyone? )and want some slate grey sundresses - have seen some in LaRedoute for beach/cas wear...talk about specific....

DolceeBanana · 23/04/2010 16:46

Ooh...my 7 month old has now got 5 toothy pegs!!!! Awww....bless her, and has been ace about it.....! Must be 3rd child syndrome!

ApuskiDusky · 23/04/2010 17:42

Hells, cocosa had a Velvet sale on that finished lunchtime today unfortunately; it did seem to have some nice stuff when I glanced at the preview. They badged it as 'california cool', whatever that means, and there was tie-dye!

I've just been onto the toast website and ordered a couple of scarves using the 20% off code: this one and this one. Getting ready for breastfeeding!

I also ordered this shirt. I'm not 100% sure, but I have been looking out for shirts and can't find any that I like so this might work if its not too baggy.

Barbabelle, glad you like the splendid cardigan, I've not really worn mine much yet because it's too slim fitting to look right with a bump, but I really like it! And the whole styled outfit on NP as well!

Health update: I'm still getting some tightening pains, but definitely less frequent, so things seem to be settling down. I'm still taking it easy though. Having said that, DH is determined that we go to Bath tomorrow to test drive a car he's found on autotrader. We shall see!

bunnymother · 23/04/2010 17:53

Hells - I have a grey cashmere dress from Velvet. Its lovely, and quite hardy (has been through the washing machine many times, despite being dry clean only).

Apuski - good news on your baby it sounds.

Red - am afraid I am not keen on your boots, but am quite staid re my taste. As seen by...

Went to H&M again today (its my Mecca) and bought a few things, inc the stone slim leg trousers in the full length (cropped to be returned shortly). Also got black. Will try on later when DD is asleep and report back.

blossoming · 23/04/2010 18:16

Yes it was the jbrands that I linked to from nap the other night. I have been very unsuccessful with nap over the years. I can't remember the last time I was successful. Thanks traceyb on your size referencing to Paige. I think I'm a 31/32 in paige but def 32 with these jbrands.

Fel1x · 23/04/2010 18:18

Just made a little new look order, some tan glads (reduced), a scarf and a navy waterfall cardigan.
Will post links when they arrive if any of them are any good!

blossoming · 23/04/2010 19:14

So what are you all up to this weekend? Forecast is good here. You won't believe this but I have another IL visit on Sunday afternoon. Am working on my coping mechanisms as we speak.
Magners league on tv tonight with a bottle of red. Still no sugar, day 5. May struggle after wine though.
Will have to think of a lovely family day ideas for tomorrow.

notyummy · 23/04/2010 19:17

mrsjaun - would echo the bm for the eyes.

Loving the links everyone.

Must try Mint Velvet - getting good vibes!

Just read this weeks Grazia. A good spread on 'new looks for all bodies'. Liked the look of this:

RedBlueRed · 23/04/2010 19:21

Woohoo! I got the job permanently. I'm so pleased to be back at any work!
I shall should probably go back to being a bit of a lurker on Mumsnet and on S&B as I just won't have the time despite having developed a bit of a habit.

Thank you all for your tips and advice, I still feel like a fashion outsider but less so thanks to you lot. I will eventually be fashionably acceptable, promise!

I hope all your health/sleep/dh issues resolve themselves soon. xxx

notyummy · 23/04/2010 19:21

Have just spent a lovely day
here
with dd and DH. It has the worlds best adventure playground that is catnip to any kids aged 2 - 12.

Playdate in the garden tomorrow, and gymnastics - however I can leave her for 2 hours and have lunch!

On Sunday dd has been invited to the seaside as a prolonged playdate with another family. DH away all weekend so I am planning a long run, a little bit of tidying and some reading of the sunday papers.

Big shades, shorts and maxis on standby!

notyummy · 23/04/2010 19:22

Well done cain! I work 4 days a week and still manage to mn - its all about the planning!!

bunjies · 23/04/2010 19:33

Congrats Cain. Send some good vibes to me won't ya. I've got my interview on Monday. Npt looking forward to the 12 hour journey back to Blighty tomorrow though. I've been so stressed about it all as I've only had 2 days to prepare.

notyummy - thank you, got your email. Have just realised from your last link that you're not in London as I assumed.

Hope you're ok Cake and have been resting as advised.

Fel1x · 23/04/2010 20:07

Fabulous news Cain - congratulations!
Maybe you will be able to treat yourself to those Hasbeens you are after before too long after all!!

LTEC - hope you've had a restful day and are feeling a bit better. What did the Dr say?

Has everyone else braved getting the sandals out yet?? I havent quite dared to yet, still not out of April and still a bit nippy I have been thinking, so have been doing ballerinas instead of boots but not sandals yet.
Perhaps this weekend will be my hasbeens first outing - am I the last to bare my feet???

RedBlueRed · 23/04/2010 20:14

notyummy am going to try to maintain my mumsnet habit but a full time job, plus a partime business, plus a fulltime ds, plus partime study have got to be a priority!

bunjies Positive Mental Attitude coming your way by the bucket load...>>>>>>>>>>>>>

RedBlueRed · 23/04/2010 20:22

Thanks Fel1x, I can't tell you how tempting it is to whack them on the credit card right now!

eshermummy · 23/04/2010 20:36

Was out last night (book club) so have missed loads!!!

Felix - I haven't had my feet out yet either, nor will I till next Friday as have pedi booked for next Thursday. Anyway, I think it's still a bit too cold for no socks but I have cleaned and retired all boots now and am in ash hi-tops.

Apuski - glad you are home and hope you are resting up.

Cake - what did the dr say? Hope you have got some decent A-B's to fight off your lurgies. You must eat a bit more too you know, whenever I let my food ishoos get most out of hand I always pay for it with a reduced immune system and no energy.

Tracey - went into Reiss today and saw that mint pom pom scarf - what was wrong with it? It looked v nice to me.
I didn't try on the pom pom top as it had the look of a dry clean item and the straps are v fine so a strapless bra would be best and I simply can't be bothered anymore with everyday clothes that require specific underwear - too much faff

Went out yesterday and today and managed to take back almost all of last weekend's purchases.

Yesterday bought a top (well, I think it's meant to be a dress but no way will I be wearing it as) from H&M garden collection - cream satin finish cotton, sleeveless empire line tunic with appliqued pansies in same fabric at collar.
I was rather taken with it for £15!

Today bought 2 things at M&S

this dress

this cropped cardigan

I took back the oasis sundress which DH unkindly said was only suitable for an au pair (code for=mutton) and am really struggling to find some pretty summer dresses that are not too short and not too low cut but at the same time not too safe and mumsy or too summer weddingy??
Where???

Got a bit jaded with the shops today so went and had my nails done in a fab shade of cobalt blue it rocks.

traceybath · 23/04/2010 20:42

Esher - I think the scarf was just the wrong colour for me - didn't really go with anything I have already.

Love that cardigan - going straight in my basket

Did change for DH's office bbq - wore red stripey jigsaw top and love it.

hellsbelles · 23/04/2010 20:46

esher - you are clever...that dress looks like a real find.

I have been debuting my jbrand military jeans. I dare not link as price is stupid but I do love them and will wear them to death so hoping the cost per wear will work out in the end.

Cakey - will you just let us know you are alright? I'm really worried you've got pneumonia or something. I suspect you are rather like my best friend who carries on through extreme agony and then when she finally admits she needs to see a dr gets immediately admitted (this is true!) - I hope my imagination is being over active.

Cain that is fabulous. Well done. I too find it hard to keep up with MN when I'm at work but I save it as a treat for every now and then.

Bunjies - sending you my special luck wishes - guaranteed to work -I tell you!

traceybath · 23/04/2010 20:48

Hells - are they the houlihan ones?

And I did ask after you actually a day or so back .

Whats happening re. the wedding outfit? Has your mum relented at all?

DolceeBanana · 23/04/2010 20:48

Esher - love the cardi too...

Hope Cake is okay and not too miffed with us all for being concerned about her...!
