Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

OP posts:

Also has anyone see any non-leather holiday type bags? Quite like this type of canvas tote but colour perhaps not that child friendly (for me anyway) I don't want to risk on-line ordering with it being bank hols etc so RL shopping if poss. TIA

Fel1x · 01/05/2010 19:39

Evening all,

Tracey - I like that whole look too. I am hoping that the dark grey rolled up chinos I've ordered (NL) will help me do something similar!

Esher - def gold will go best with your dress. If they do look too OTT when you've tried them on the the brown ones will be good with it too - doesnt need to be black i dont think.
Have a lovely evening out!

We've had a lovely day at the charity bash. The weather held out and my friends raised several thousand pounds for the charity which is very close to their hearts so am very pleased all round.
Relax with glass of wine now

Fel1x · 01/05/2010 19:43

which reminds me, my friend was wearing a really nice pair of sandals today from M&S. they looked great on, am thinking of buying them (as not hopeful for the tan ones I ordered from NL, think they will be going straight back!). What do you think?

Fleecy · 01/05/2010 19:45

Have only skimmed so apologies if I miss out anyone...

Tracey - I got a lovely bright coral off the shoulder top in New Look last year. Might be worth a look? It was £12 or £15 I think?

Those of you who like the Asos giraffe top, if you're a 10/12 there's one on eBay here

Fel1x · 01/05/2010 19:46

Zembo, I really like that star scarf!

MarshaBrady · 01/05/2010 19:55

TraceyB I love that combo!

(Kicks £60 parking fine under table, grrrrrrrrrr and sob)

Romanarama · 01/05/2010 19:59

No time to read everything at the mo, but just to say that dinner was lovely and my zebra top was the business. And I've just about given up sugar for 24 hours now (except 4 glasses of champagne but am not counting those), so v.proud.

But really just to say look at this ridiculous website that I just got an email inviting me to read avidly. (Don't read too far, the 'fashion' bit is about metal suitcases and rolex watches [yawn])

cake your blog is really good - you will be able to use it as a job application to write the style pages somewhere serious when the time comes. (Not very serious of course)

Welcome back vin and ESHER WEAR THE GOLD ONES. Black shoes with red dress def not good.

Whelk · 01/05/2010 20:22

Evening all! Wow so many posts. I haven't got time to look at all the links now as glass of prosecco, Kettle chips and Britains Got talent calling. Will look back later.

Blossoming - I laughed when I read your post about the mac as I walked home from work i mine, stopping halfway for dds nursery in the pissy rain and stayed dry and (i thought) reasonably stylish. I even thought of you!! Shame the same couldn't be said for my feet in silver ballets.
I love Snowdonia (that is where you live isn't it? very envious!)It must be great bringing up dcs somewhere so rural.

LTEC- Thank you for the link to your blog. I love it! You have a great writing style.

bunnymother · 01/05/2010 20:22

Roma - what a tacky website. I would be annoyed if someone ever thought that would appeal to me.

hellsbelles · 01/05/2010 20:28

esher - do your W&A pals proud and wear the gold!

Felix -those sandals look good - will look to see if I can find them. Though I never have luck in M&S now...I'm still trying to get the fab dress Esher linked to a while back.

Marsha - I hate fines too! And Blossoming surely and A&W nightmare

Zembo - so hard to see what the dress is like from the pic...but look forward to hearing how it looks in RL.

Tracey - I love that styling too...and agree that jbrand jeans have some sort of magic slimming (perhaps it's because the wallet slims every time I buy a pair!!). DH loves off the shoulder tops so I'm very tempted by that. The swan slub does that a little and he goes all dreamy!!

Is someone saying we are cliquey?? No siree (as LTEC would say though I've forgotten how she spells it!)

Cain I quite agree with being inspired. i like to think that I did already have an idea of what to wear - I was just hiding it very well and didn't have any confidence to actually do it! Despite the damage to our bank balance DH is so thrilled I've found this thread as it's got me back my confidence mojo

LetThemEatCake · 01/05/2010 21:20

Sweet Jesus what a day.

Okay. That's better.

FF I'm not sure about that cuff. I've seen a lot of chunky bangles around (like the ASOS peacock one) that could do the job you describe just as well but a lot less ££ and a bit nicer?

Am missing the beautiful monkeysmama too - hope you are having a fabulous time and that your friend and bub are doing well. Thank you so much for your care and concern last week

Fel1x so glad you had a good day and that mucho ££ was raised!!

everything well done on the chazza shop score - I do love a good bargain

on which note - those of you who have read my blog, thanks for your nice comments but what do you think of my coat and bag??

vin happy to see you! love everything you have bought. Tres glam maxi & flips, tres cute bag. My grey skinnies are, as tracey said, from Primark. They are quite fab for £8.

blossoming hope you feel better, love. Quelle horreur at the slippers!! Why ignoring talk of maxis, can't remember?

Fleecy - saw a lady today looking fab in peeptoe boots, you sound gorgeous as always.

esher too late now but I think black shoes too harsh on red dress (and yeah, thanks for that link - have you SEEN how many bargains on FB website?????!!!!) Hope you have a fab night regardless of footwear!

Hello carciofi! I am loving navy atm.

who said we are cliquey?? Sod that. Although, tbh, there are a few people whose presence here would make me a bit

tracey I love slip-off the shoulder - it's a throw back to my Madonna days - and let me just tell you all AGAIN that I won a lookalike AND dance-a-like contest once - I currently have an grey marl sweatshirt for the purpose - very Fame.

Zembo I love that navy star scarf, I recently bought one too, just ebay though and not silk.

Romanarama so pleased you had a good night and am very and at your praise of my blog since I know that you are a discerning woman. Very odd to look up to someone with whom you've never crossed RL paths.

hells!!! When have I ever said no sirree?? I have not!!
and did I tell you, my purple Tam Tam bit the dust. Got washed on the wrong cycle. Despite being soooo sick of it (over-wear due to bfing perfectness) I felt a bit sad. End of an era.

Today wore repeat of last weekend - Primark skinnies with narrow roll-ups, See by Chloe garden print silk blouse, (this fabric)Hasbeens & mac. Got told by one of the (strangely appealing ) dads that I cut a very glamourous figure as I walked across the park. Thank you very much!!

sorry for epic post. The media widow's equiv of "exhaaaaaaaaaaaale......"

oh cakey - I mourn the loss of your Tam Tam too....now we have slightly less matchey wardrobes

Have you really never said it. Sorry! I love it - I was so sure it was yours.

Your outfit sounds wonderful....I must do that sock thing with my hasbeens so I can actually wear them (instead of just looking at them)!

Roma - that website is so funny....is it a joke do you think?

RedBlueRed · 01/05/2010 23:02

Everything I too was admiring Traceybath's style then realised the cost, but I fancied the shoes - just needed to move the decimal place.

LTEC I really like the trench and the bag - fabulous find!

Hells fantastic that you have got your confidence mojo back - its just what I need too.

Fleecy · 01/05/2010 23:13

Right then. What does everyone think of printed trousers? You know the sort of thing, high waisted with a top tucked in, skimming the thigh and tapering towards the ankle.

I have hated them for a while but now find myself being drawn to them. Have seen a fab Whistles pair for £125 (they were in Grazia a few weeks ago) but can't find them online and don't want to spend that much as I'm not sure I'd wear them past this summer.

Am I being too much of a fashion victim?

Cain, congrats on the job.

LTEC, hi back, have been reading your blog and I like it a lot. Great finds on the trench and bag and you have reminded me that I need to buy crocs for DD.

Blossoming, I used to work with someone who always asked me how much I spent on things and it drove me crazy. Have a good night with your friends. I am going to try the small local M&S tomorrow for the top.

Zembo the code expires on May 8th, I think. I like the scarf.

LetThemEatCake · 01/05/2010 23:15

fleecy - do you mean traveller trousers????

Fleecy · 01/05/2010 23:16

I think so

LetThemEatCake · 01/05/2010 23:19

my honest opinion: uber fabulouso in mag photos, uber ridiculouso in RL

I am looking at the Whistles ones as we speak. They look fab. But are not. I know I know I know this much is troo-oo-oooh.

Fleecy · 01/05/2010 23:20
