Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

Cross posts - that's what's worrying me! I keep hankering after them but I wonder if they might be somewhat bum-enhancing. And there's only one way to wear them. Plain tank, tucked in. So not really very versatile. But still I look...

And now I'm singing in my head, Wedding Singer stylee

Fleecy · 01/05/2010 23:25

I do have a small bum - but I have hips so not sure trousers that accentuate them are very wise!

Many things are bum enhancing, yet nice regardless. These do not fall into that category.

Unless you are heading to Bali to smoke copious amounts of dope any time soon?? In which case, may I suggest a lovely shade of lime green hair dye?

As a fellow animal print lover, however, what say you to this for Autumn?? "tis called my nickname and everything!!

LetThemEatCake · 01/05/2010 23:29

double page spread.

so they must be hot!!!

Lime green does not suit my complexion

You speak wise words - and may I just say how beautifully you both sing

I shall resist the siren call of the trousers and head off to bed!

I like the grey dress but not the brown. But is the material a bit funny? Merino wool and viscose? Bargain price there!

I love Drew Barrymore too. And Susan Cooper/ Dark is Rising - have never 'met' anyone else who has read them!

On the day of the dead when the year too dies...

Zembo · 02/05/2010 06:16

LTEC maybe you could pull that FC dress off, but looks unflattering to me too. Interesting nick name you have!

Fleecy -you're v directional (and I'm not generally, so feel free to ignore) but patterned trews = pyjamas in my books

Also taking of A/W LTEC have you seen the new blue travelwrap I'm tempted but think I'll hold off until they do a purple one. I've had loads of use out of the charcoal one I bought - much much more than the DKNY cozy(s)- still using it now infact.

blossoming · 02/05/2010 06:49

Ugh it's early.

Had a great night last night and only had half a glass of wine and a cup of tea all night!

I was definitely the best dressed, somehow they were all wearing badly fitting bootcuts, to the ankle. I wore my jigsaw breton, which is my favourite of the 4 I own, oops! White and slate, red scarf to cover tum while sitting on sofa.

It's down to this thread I was so together I think.

ltec, if you had seen how mighty fine my legs looked in my jbrands last night you would realise why I will not do maxis. Hide my best feature? No way!!

Can I brag that I've lost 4lbs since giving up sugar? And I'm not missing it as much. Last weekend I had to have a few squares of chocolate, but easier now.
Looking forward to a big roast dinner at lunch though.
My turn for chapel/Sunday school. Another style dilemma.

Right, best get up. Dh has kindly bought me tea in bed. Aww!

hellsbelles · 02/05/2010 07:52

morning all. Blossoming glad you had a such a good time. Which jigsaw breton was it you wore - was it the dress one or top?

This morning was supposed to be a very rare lie in (it's DH's turn t/m) but alas DS's volume control is constantly turned to max so no matter how many times I heard DH shhhhhhing him, his dulcet tones squeaked through.

Cakey - I suspect there is a reason that dress has been so incredibly reduced....you may get away with it but it looks to be an unflattering cut.

Fleecy - have to go with the general vote on traveller trousers but with your beauty you probably could get away with them if you had a desperate urge to channel your inner MC hammer

Everything - SIL sounds a real charmer!

Better go join the cheeky ones now. I feel in the mood for some internet retail therapy today....I'll post any potential links later.

hellsbelles · 02/05/2010 07:53

meant to say 'adds to shopping list>

LetThemEatCake · 02/05/2010 08:15

Blast this blasted weather. Having lunch with friends today, the female half of which is a 'no such thing as OTT' kind of girl. Could have gone to town on outfit without fear of judgey once-overs. Plus dh back today. Now, In absence of sun, what to wear???

Funny about that dress. I love short, shapeless dresses when my legs are good. Like, letting my legs do the talking and hinting at overall slenderness. Am so unendowed up top that such dresses tend to hang well.

Glad you had a good night bloss. happy shopping hells!! Good luck with sis today everything. deep breaths.

blossoming · 02/05/2010 08:40

hells, do you have may's edition of red magazine? The top had a whole page to itself!
It's just a long sleeve t, no cowl, just plain.

hellsbelles · 02/05/2010 08:56

Oh blossoming - I have at home (we are away for the weekend)...I'll check it out when I'm back.

CAke - I know absolutely what you mean about that kind of dress and legs being the main event...but there is something about it...but I'm rubbish at being able to tell till I see in RL....so I guess at that price it's worth a try!

Romanarama · 02/05/2010 09:30

What to wear to the Tin Tin museum - doesn't it look great?

Am rather bored of jeans, it's too spring for winter dresses with tights, but too cold for summer dresses. Rather annoying. This wast the great thing about living in Rome - by this time of year it's just hot and you just wear summer clothes, and pack everything else in the attic with mothballs until the last weekend of September. So easy.

Cake I think the trench is great - is it great? I want a trench, and you have inspired me to trawl charity shops rather than nap!

MarshaBrady · 02/05/2010 09:38

I have a Paul and Joe navy trench from last season, it makes any outfit neater and 'chic'. Very handy in this weather.

Still need summer shoes (not so urgent now in the rain).

Hello girls

I am back from Italy and Roman I can confirm that summer has indeed started. Lovely weather. I took spring rather than summer clothes but avoided the "you're so English" looks from my mates (they think English people strip off as soon as there is a ray of sunshine) and got a bit of a tan too.

It wasn't as relaxing as I'd hoped - my mini namesake had a traumatic arrival into the world and isn't very happy . She is fine health wise but cries a lot. Luckily we were staying in a hotel! Was lovely spending good quality time with my dad too and watching him with dd. He has so many kids of his own he rarely gets one on one time with my LO.

I bought those New Look boots I mentioned and got two wears out of them before dd tipped a whole glass of red wine over them. Lucky they were cheap.

Will read back through thread now.

Cakey I really like that dress. I have a silk one from Zara which has a slightly more slashed neck (but only just) and is really flattering in the way you mentioned. It's one of my favourite dresses.

Fleecy I love the trousers (but I would). I have a zebra pair which are a bit similar from last year. Mine were cheap as chips though so doesn't matter I only get a few wears out of them. They make me feel happy.

Everything good luck with the family.

Just finished a driving lesson and dp and dd on their way back from swimming so must dash.

Have a happy Sunday.

MM

PlumSykes · 02/05/2010 11:29

everything, can you text back and say you'll be going out at 1.30?

I hate when people expect you to hang around endlessly. BIL does it constantly, and we are often out by the time they arrive. They then call, and expect us to dash home. DH sometimes does, I never do. Frankly it's a lucky escape not to see him and his beyond awful wife, but that's not the point! If you say a time, stick to it!

PlumSykes · 02/05/2010 11:53

DH was going thru the joint statement last night, and had words with me about how much I spend at...wait for it... Tesco!

I know!

So, am showing willing, and going to Asda. Wish me luck!

For my Asda debut, am wearing

Breton tee
Next jeggings
Frye Campus boots
Short navy Topshop trench
down-trodden wifelet expression
