Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

OP posts:

I tried going dairy-free for a while and used rice milk instead. I just don't like it! Or soy. So back on the dairy. Do eat pretty well in general - but Friday night is my night off so am currently munching my way through a tube of Pringles, bar of chocolate and packet of cookies

Nuts are good. I find 5/6 brazil nuts is enough of a mid-morning snack to keep me going without being too calorific.I don't eat a lot of fat (Fri eves aside) so the nuts help with that too.

Glad to hear your DS is okay OWW. That sounded painful!

traceybath · 30/04/2010 20:28

Fleecy - I love your 'dirty' food - pringles are so yummy and I have very common chocolate tastes too. Ferrero Rocher are my faves - yes ambassador - I am pleased to see you .

Fleecy · 30/04/2010 20:35

Yum! I find if I have one proper naughty night a week I'm happy to eat well the rest of the time. Lots of veg, oats, nuts, seeds and fruit plus a bit of lean meat/fish and rice. I worked out it's around 1200-1500 calories most days and will go up to about 1800 when I reach my target weight.

Wow - surely that's something that I should have posted on the shiney thread, not this one! Hey ho, haven't bought any clothes!

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 20:35

aw, my sister isn't horrid or mean hells. She was just young and is a celeb so is accustomed to having all the attention/ being the beautiful one and didn't deal well with boring old frumpy big sis having the limelight for the day. And then when we lost our Star 6 weeks later, she was pretty unpleasant. Anyway, she's had a few life lessons since (broken engagement, bad press, medical issues) and is a nicer, more humble person as a result. We're getting there.

My brother, yes, he does look like Tony Almeida BUT he is so the spitting image of one of the terrorists in the current season that it's actually freaking me out a bit.

tried on all my Primark buys, all great. I don't think I will ever buy premium denim again. I love the Primark 8-pounders. And the grey looks so great with this tee which I've not been wearing much bc with indigo denim it just looked too dark.

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:36

Brazil nuts are an excellent natural mood enhancer....5 or 6 a day is adequate....I swear by them for sort of maintaining equilibrium, or I'm a stroppy cow
Glug of merlot is also a definite mood enhancer...sorry Esher been trying to track down the LaR boots on the website but page locked and can't at mo - will link asap!

Examining my diet today though I've had:

Bowl of Porridge with honey
Hummus, Oat cakes, tuna, sweetcorn and cucumber
apple
3 cups of tea
water and about to have glass of wine and noodles/salmon
oh yes, and a few, )alright 5, choc buttons oh it was going so well!!!!!

eshermummy · 30/04/2010 20:37

Tracey - deffo with you on the cheap chocolate rather than the real connisseur's stuff, without outing myself completely.....my DH recently worked on a large chocolate deal so our house has been stuffed to the rafters with chocolate from the clients.
DH and I have been averaging a whole choc orange between us every night, interspersed with those enormous toblerones!!!
That's awful isn't it, good job I am very up on dental visits or my teeth would all fall out (that's what I tell the dd's who aren't even allowed their Easter eggs by mean mummy)

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:39

Who's Tony Almeida?

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:41

Oh, forgot the 1,000 calorie handful of brazil nuts though...

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 20:42

oh yes but hells - he is tall, 6'4"

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:42

Saw Angelina today - in Grazia - God, now that is Skeletor ... !

blossoming · 30/04/2010 20:44

esher, no, there was only putting the ice cream in the freezer and eating it next day. Amazing. And I just made the chocolate cake in the same issue which used the other half of the carnation can in the icing so no waste. Dc1 and dh vouched for it's yummyness.

eshermummy · 30/04/2010 20:45

Cake - the other week I went on a girls' night out with my London girlfriends (all v gorge always) and one of them had pair of dark skinnies that she said were £7 Primark and she said she now had something like 11 pairs she loved them so much.
I am def going to try and do a Primark run next week to check out these jeans. Obviously if you luck out and they fit you really well it's great so fingers crossed they work on my small waist and large arse and saddlebags!!!

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 20:47

esher I am also small waisted and large buttocked - you can't go wrong!

I also love the lack of pressure with a pair of £8 jeans. Gained weight? buy a size up!! Lost weight? buy a size down!!

You could never be so cavalier with JBrand

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:48

Tracey - have you been to Primark in Bristol yet then? It's huge, think you could probably spend all day there! Haven't been yet....but skinnies sound like a good buy...especially when a girl wants so many shades nowadays

Fleecy · 30/04/2010 20:49

Cake - are Primark jeans long enough? I've never yet found any that aren't too short for me but you're taller than I am

eshermummy · 30/04/2010 20:49

Blossoming - in that case i may try it (for the dd's of course!)
Actually icecream is the one sweet treat I am a bit meh about. I only eat it about twice a year on hols when it's super hot and I only like either the proper Italian stuff or the utterly utterly synthetic Mr Whippy stuff - all the inbetween ones like Haagen Daz, Ben & Jerry's I don't like. Weird huh?

traceybath · 30/04/2010 20:50

Does anyone else watch ashes to ashes?

Love the 80's fashion.

Oh bought new InStyle today and free nails inc nail varnish.

Blossoming - was that this months Good Food magazine - may have to try that ice cream.

blossoming · 30/04/2010 20:59

traceybath, it's the June issue, I subscribe. Will be in the shops soon I should think.
I love Thai sweet chilli crisps and daim bar milka chocolate with my Friday night vino normally. But being strict tonight. Just the vino.

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 21:09

fleecy they're fine on me but I think you carry much of your height in your legs, no? I'm pretty evenly split, maybe slightly long through the torso

speaking of diets etc - one thing I don't do enough is drink water. I live in terror of needing a wee - toilet cubicles over here just aren't big enough for an adult, 2 kids and a baby in a buggy. Another reason I love Bluewater & Westyfield - big loos.

Fleecy · 30/04/2010 21:12

I never thought of that with loos when out and about. What a horror!

I do have a short torso and longer legs so I like a 35" leg usually but can get away with a 34. Mind you, I might try next time I'm in the city because I suppose with skinnies you could get away with them as ankle length.

hellsbelles · 30/04/2010 21:19

sounds like these primark jeans are a lot better than my current elliots! Must try them out!

o.k...I'll stop being mean about your sis cakey if she is getting better ...I too have a 6ft 4 brother - used to get fed up with all my friends falling in love with him....he's 4 years younger for goodness sake...it was unseemly

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 21:19

oh god I love ice cream. Not the Whippy stuff, yuk, but just about everything else.

Don't like crisps. Sometimes fancy chocolate, but rarely.

I love love love bakery stuff - bread, cake, biscuits, pastries - dribble dribble.

Dolce - Tony Almeida is a character in 24.

blossoming · 30/04/2010 21:21

I got used to using disabled loos with dc2, and still use them when out and about with the buggy. You can't be expected to leave your baby outside when you use the loo.

hellsbelles · 30/04/2010 21:24

I have 24 on now as i type (series 6)! Alas Tony has tragically died...but I'm pretty sure this is a Bobby Ewing type death as I'm sure I read that he was in another series?! (don't tell me though - I'm trying hard not to google).

I too am a nut lover.

traceybath · 30/04/2010 21:25

I'm a bit phobic about public loos. Thats the worse bit about potty training - I spent the whole time screeching at ds1 'don't touch anything' when we were out and about.
