Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

Like the boots Tracey... funnily was thinking of the La Redoute similar ones in soft sand suede....will post later...off to do supper for kids...salmon, pasta, peas and broccoli...their favourite!

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 17:24

Red I've got a cut-out swimsuit. It's OK when standing up, but when you bend that middle bit gapes which looks silly and doesn't conceal the tummy, so not that great really. I'd go for a proper cossie: you should find s'th you like here

blossoming · 30/04/2010 17:38

Fel1x, charity rugby, I feel I have some expertise here. They're promising rain so, warm socks, wellies, skinnies or jeggings, vest, long sleeve top, warm scarf, cardigan, waterproof coat, cashmere-lined leather gloves.
Have fun! (Love rugby emoticon).

dolcee, I get on with my sis better than I have since our mid teens. She's a year older than me, but it's still not that good. She thinks good things are handed to you on a plate, and thinks I have it easy. You know, she chose the life she's got, she could change it, but that would take some effort on her part. I've worked hard to have this life, and my dh has made sacrifices and works incredibly hard too. In a nutshell, we're too different, but her envy gets trying at times.

cahu · 30/04/2010 17:40

Dolce Pleased you like them.

Lurking again....

hellsbelles · 30/04/2010 17:45

Tracey - I like them - they are a little like the lana peach ones I linked to a while back and I've found them really useful. The colour seems to go with loads of stuff!

Felix - agree with blossoming! ANd can I have your cleaner

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 17:48

Fel1x I would likely opt for my kid-friendly fallback of skinnies, high-tops & 'funky' (I cringe to write the word) printed tee. Have fun!

tracey I think those boots are good but would be reluctant to pay so much for an in-betweener Am getting some good wear out of my £20 NL lace-ups, loving the leg-lengthening/ slimming qualities too

All-round successful day here - met up with friends at softplay, dcs had a ball, then I could not resist a quick scrummage through Primark, yes even with all 3 in tow (they were amazing actually, think they have strongly inherited my pikey gene, their only concern was to make sure I bought something for them too - red heart-print sun dress for dd and khaki shorts for ds)

For me:
grey skinnies (thanks tracey for planting the seed)
navy plimsolls
and again in white - I mean, c'mon, they're £2!!!!
navy tee with thin white stripes - impulse, unnecessary, grabbed bc right next to till and £2, but it's not like I won't wear it
black spag-strap tank, always useful
lightweight summer scarf in fab shade of pink, v. flattering next to face until summer glow picks up
AND
leopard print slippers for shuffling around and making tea

so got a retail fix of sorts. Then on to the library, new books, bit of a story & some colouring in, now home and L has had his chickpeas, tomatoes, eggplant & brown pasta (he seems a bit constipated, am hoping this will get things moving). P&C are sitting outside having their dinner under my negligent watchful eye.

Oh - one last thing - over the course of the day, have been mindlessly scoffing a snack bag of cashews and raisins - 800 bloody calories it turns out!! TG had only juiced for brekkie, will have to just have soup for dinner to compensate. I eat a LOT of nuts, have never really looked at the label, had no idea they were quite that bad.

traceybath · 30/04/2010 17:54

I have so got to go to primarks

I'm dithering on the boots - may order them and see - am very into grey at the moment. I want a pale grey t-shirt to wear with my white skinnies.

My sister is undoubtedly my best friend - we talk to each other about 3 times a day .

I really really hope my dc's are close when they're older.

Bea is super mobile now - cruising round the furniture - she is way more adventurous than the boys were.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 17:58

Coo love that Eres swimwear!

(...water for ds1 ach!)

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 18:01

my sis is 9 years younger .. we had a strained relationship for many years, culminating in massive falling-out bc of her atrocious behaviour at my wedding ... building bridges over the last few years, getting close again now. Both complete clothes-freaks so we can always fall back on that when all else is strained.

My bro is 5 years older ... he's just my big bro. We don't ever discuss anything personal, but we're there.

traceybath · 30/04/2010 18:06

LTEC golly that sounds very naughty of her.

Marsha and Romana - I'm sure Bonsoir linked to eres swimwear last year and I was overwhelmed by how gorgeous it was and how £££.

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 18:08

Right, off out for dinner. Yes! 2 nights in a row , in jbrand leggings, zebra dress, nude cardi over as a bit chilly, beige-ish ankle boots with big heels. Wish, wish, wish I had a new handbag

Who asked about puppies? Puppies are all totally asd for about a year. Cute but serious hard work. My boys love him and he loves them

blossoming · 30/04/2010 18:21

My sis left my wedding early and went to the pub!

hellsbelles · 30/04/2010 18:24

LTEC - will you tell us one day what your horrid mean sister did??! And your big bro? Isn't he the one that resembles Tony Almeda? But I'm betting a tall version

Tracey - I love grey too at the moment though my bloody Current Elliot ones are broken again. I love them but the stiching keeps coming loose which is very annoying and no - it's not because of my fat bottom.

How old is Bea? She sounds similar to DD.

O.k...off to feed DD see you all later

traceybath · 30/04/2010 18:26

Bea is 9 months and monkey-tastic. DS2 was/is the most laidback child - didn't walk until 16 months and still very cuddly.

Bea - feeds, bites me and is off.

Am going to pop into office tomorrow and look at those boots. I did see some gorgeous ones in comptoir but they were £££ so will wait for their sale.

Romana - I'm not envious oh no. You go out for dinner - we're having the dine in from m&s.

notyummy · 30/04/2010 18:43

Hello all - this thread has been busy today! No shopping for me - well actually kind of, but not S & B - test driving new cars. Plus v nice lunch at lovely organic farm cafe place near us. Have just finished my domestic goddess bit - just made a low cal coq au vin and roasted tomato and seafood stew. Smells good - lets hope it tastes as good as well.

hellsbelles · 30/04/2010 18:52

Tracey - monkeytastic is good though isn't it! DD is 15 months and has only just started to do hugs and kisses. I was spoilt with DS....he was kissing almost as soon as he was born

Roman - you sounds gorgeous - have fun.

blossoming · 30/04/2010 19:00

Yesterday made ice cream with dc1 from the children's bit in good food magazine. It was 400g strawberries, 250g mascarpone, half a tin of condensed milk. Dc1 mashed the strawberries with a potato masher and mixed into the other ingredients. Into the freezer over night. Absolutely gorgeous. (I had the smallest lick!!)

Cakey and Everything - I eat lots of nuts, too. My naturopath told me years ago that they are a fantastic source of lasting energy and good oils. 800 calories isn't a problem if you aren't eating too much at other times during the day, and frankly Cakey, it sounds as though you could afford to eat them.

Blossoming - that ice cream sounds delish. My lactose intolerance is the only reason I don't eat food like that all day! Like Cakey, I drink rice milk (its really nice).

Tracey - snap on the dinner front! We are having the beef roulades (seemed the best option). I think the boots are OK, but am not wild about the "slouching".

Roma - not jealous. At all.

OK, DH wants attention...

eshermummy · 30/04/2010 20:04

Tracey - I do rather like those boots, am liking the sound of Dolcee's la redouters too - come back and link please DB!!

Who was it who linked to that wallis leather tee on ebay - unbelievable that the seller has a buy it now of £175 when it was £75 in the shops. Am not convinced it would actually be that nice irl anyway.

Blossoming - that icecream recipe sounds delicious - did you have to take it in and out of freezer and beat smooth? that's what always puts me offwith homemade icecream recipes so if yours didn't need beating....
Funnily enough I saw a condensed milk ad in a mag at the hairdressers yesterday that was a recipe for cupcakes made with condensed milk and was going to look it up on the carnation website. Am sure DD1 would love it.

You lot all put me to shame with your healthy no sugar, no wheat, no carbs, just nuts and fruit diets!
Would you like to know what I have eaten today?

2 homemade lemon poppyseed muffins
3 twirl fingers from a multipack bag
small slice of Mrs Crimbles dutch apple cake
2 sole goujons from children's tea
2 strawberries
3 or 4 cups of tea

Awful isn't it? almost entirely sugar!!!!!!! I have the worst diet, I sometimes imagine what my week's food would look like if it was all laid out like on that Gillian McKeith programme and I am
I hasten to add that the dd's don't eat like this, nor do they see me do it. S'not good though

traceybath · 30/04/2010 20:08

Hells - monkeytastic is good indeed . Poor Arthur just looks at her in amazement as she's catching up with him very quickly.

I like nuts but ration myself but LTEC you really do sound like you eat very little so I think a big packet of nuts sounds good.

Everything - how are things going with DH?

Is it going to get warm again soon? If so am going to definitely live without buying ankle boots.

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:12

Yes...nuts here too!!!! Love 'em...and okay calorific but good calories and filling, so not all bad. If you substitute them for, rather than make them an addition to your diet then shouldn't have a problem....

Phew....manic supper with kiddies; generally egging each other on to do the most 'monkeytastic' things.......although they did keep eating whilst squawking so not bad....

DD1 been fab re toilet training - feel like we kind of have it sussed after 1 week, so well pleased. DD2 adorable and just had the most gorgeous snuggles with her!!!! Awwwwww....

Home without DH who's out for dinner (work)...so open the Merlot and quick salmon and noodles for me...

Yes, we have Rice Dream...its actually lovely...prefer it to milk, although its DH who's intolerant, not me!

It was my SIL who behaved appallingly at our wedding - we've always had a slightly strained rel. over the 20 years I've known the woman...she got up in the middle of the reception and ran out in tears....after being v childish and difficult in the run up to the wedding...Ho Hum, least the others are normal okay...

Tracey - enjoy ... your M & S meal !

Roma - sounds wicked outfit! Have a fab time...you are getting like Choo, out all the time...talking of which...where art thou woman?

traceybath · 30/04/2010 20:16

Esher - I too am a sugar fiend. Could pretty much happily live on special k and dorset cereals honey granola

Dolcee - naughty SIL!

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:17

Of course, I'm not intolerant at all,

DolceeBanana · 30/04/2010 20:22

Tracey - your DD sounds like my DD1 - a real character...into everything...and up to anything! She's a wonderful kid, but so, so monkeytastic, whereas, yes, it's early days but my no 3 (Phoebe) is so laid back, hardly cries and is cuddly...not sure there is such a thing as birth order personality, as everyone's situations seem so different, and gender plays a huge part... I am the eldest of 3, as is my DH!
