Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

tracey I think those are just the shells, whereas I want the foam things.

Marsha I love my jbrand 901 leggings. Are you looking for skinnies? They are the perfect pair imo, comfy and beautiful. The fabric is really soft and they look like jeans, not leggings, so you can also wear them with shorter tops.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 09:59

yes to skinnies. Leggings that look like skinnies- fabulous.

hf128219 · 30/04/2010 10:00

Oh yes, Boden aspirational. It's the way they call things 'Fabulous' (I'll be the judge of that), 'Short' (Yes I can see that) or 'Must Have' (No thanks)

traceybath · 30/04/2010 10:05

Morning All.

LTEC - love that pink top and a bargain too.

MN is weird regarding clothes, I referred to S&B on a chat thread and was told a poster didn't want to 'associate' with that .

I thought the same about Boden being aspirational. I do like that on this thread we can go from new look to nap without the snidey comments.

I should be on my way to toddlers but have got niggly tooth ache so am giving it a miss today.

Do find things like that easier than playdates though when dc's are toddlers. Jo Jingles also very popular with the dc's - not so much with me .

blossoming · 30/04/2010 10:13

romanarama, there's a palazzo one piece on the laura Ashley website.
My new jbrands which I love with a passion are the mid rise skinnies which were the first on the n-a-p jeans page.
Have not gone to toddler group. Baby asleep so not much point. Am baking chocolate cake as a bank holiday treat for dh and dc1. Big test for the sugar thing!
Fancy boiled egg and soldiers myself!!!

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 10:21

Going back to subject of glam holidays bunny, we have loads of friends in different countries because of having done this whole 'international' thing for years, but haven't travelled much really since ds2 was born. Partly because we were living in Switz then Italy, so we could drive to loads of lovely places, and mostly because going away was more tiring than staying at home once there were three of them. This summer's long holidays will all be staying with friends or family or house-swaps (highly recommended if you live somewhere remotely desirable - home exchange) - can't wait!

blossoming · 30/04/2010 10:45

Well the m&s top arrived and it is perfect. Showed my outfit to dh and he said wow £12, that's amazing. (Obviously didn't realise the jbrands are new and the lkbennet's were also pricey). Can't wait to find a jacket to complete the look now.

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 10:50

my cleaner just arrived and admired my outfit, and it had made me want to get changed... I am the wordy kind of person

am wearing zara linen tee in sand, rivet island skinny khakis and the heeled new look lace up boots. And a kind of animal print bangle bought by my dad in Venice One of the few times he got it right.

No time to change though, playdate awaits. Softplay here we come!!

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 10:58

Where the hell is hells???? Missing you lovely lady

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 11:00

worst kind of person. Bloody predictive phone.

Although am wordy too.

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 11:08

I don't like that pink number cake, looks shapeless to me.

traceybath · 30/04/2010 11:11

Am wearing current/elliott skinnies, h&m breton vest top and navy silk tie front cardigan. Quite dull but nice I think.

Barbabelle · 30/04/2010 11:14

The Vagabond sandals arrived and they're lovely. Thanks so much Ourlady. The 40 just fits me. I'd say the sizing is fairly generous Romanarama so hopefully yours will be ok.

Now, I've been having a bit of a fashion dilemma about school pick ups. There is a sort of A-set of cliquey ladies at school who are always v.perfectly groomed, v.perfectly dressed, with nice handbags. They are fashionable for sure, but in a heels way, not a high tops way (they are all French, remember ). They are not friendly to anyone who's not in their club. Their conversation never rises above "Heat" magazine, whatever that is in French (I don't read magazines). I don't aspire to be like them as I think they are rude and remind me of girls at school ffs. I also think the whole thing smacks of desperate housewives. But... the alternative is the totally un-S&B look. So, by wearing my on-trend but not usually designer outfits where am I in all this? Why do a find the it-girls annoying? Why do I care?

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 11:37

thanks everything (they are a bit shabby).

Roman that's tough. Not many high heels at ds' school, (also not a single fleece). Loads of very 'stylish' (need a better word) women, some who are very successful. All slim, some stunning. Am very lucky.

Is there even one like you?

eshermummy · 30/04/2010 11:39

HI ALL

OWW - so glad your ds is ok and his wee-manhood intact! That is the 2nd toddler toilet injury I've heard of in 24 hours - yesterday whilst picking dd2 up at nursery the mum in front of me was signing accident book for an injury on her dd's bottom caused by getting trapped between loo seat and pan - apparently it drew blood too, ouch!

LTEC - glad to have you back, i like that pink top - I also liked quite a few of the ASOS things you linked to last night BUT my blardy new cc has still not arrived so am on enforced no spend-zone grrrrrrrrrr.

Today I had to go into school for class assembly - Roman - no A-star heeled mummy cliques here, here we have Boden ones , just as difficile in their own way let me assure you......Round here, Boden is perceived as veh aspirational
Temp has dropped here quite a bit so was wearing long sleeved striped breton top tucked into these trousers, gold ash hi-tops, huge (and heavy) old gold coloured multi-strand necklace and navy blue knitted cotton coatigan (Goat) for warmth. DH said I had too much slap on

Gah, have forgotten what else I wanted to say
am going to ring cc co and ask where my card is

traceybath · 30/04/2010 11:43

Ollie - glad DS is ok - poor thing - lets just hope he's not like my DS who always wants to show everyone his bruises

School mums here vary hugely - definitely some fleece wearers but also some very glam mums too.

Esher - how is dd getting on at new school?

Is it me or is my-wardrobe just not adding much new stock at the moment - wondered if they're in trouble . . .

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 11:47

Mw is a bit dire atm. They keep restocking stuff. And I'm ready to buy from them, but nothing comes in.

Has your discount box disappeared from buying page?

traceybath · 30/04/2010 11:48

Oh and as I whizzed through m&s this morning on the way to the food section, I noticed these in leopard.

Actually looked very nice and just my cup of tea.

blossoming · 30/04/2010 11:49

I'm the only school gate mum with clean hair and make up ffs.
All fleece, hoodies, uggs, trackie bottoms and haggard expressions here. Oh, and the odd muzzled dog thrown in.

traceybath · 30/04/2010 12:00

Blimey blossoming that sounds a bit grim - I do like to look at what the other mums are wearing for inspiration.

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 12:02

Where do you live blossoming and Marsha?

I feel more at home with the working parents in their corporate gear, because that's how I see myself, but I'm in jbrands and h&m

There are lots of no-fashion outfits here too. Not nec fleeces, but yukky blouses, bootcut jeans that skim the ankle with sensible shoes. No tracksuits, except on the laydeez about to head to fancy health club after school run.

carciofi · 30/04/2010 12:17

OWW - owwww! Glad your DS is alright.

Tracey, really like those wedges and may have to purchase tomorrow along with Blossoming's top. I'm leaving DD with DH tomorrow afternoon and going to Westfield. Also now want J Brand skinnies but they will have to wait!

Red, I can't open the link to the Prada shoes but they sound gorgeous.

I like that pink dres, LTEC, it is worth a try for that price. Hope you are doing ok.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 12:17

London. But it is a small school that attracts creative or barristers, so not many that work in the City. So more likely to get successful photographers, designers or female doctor etc

My current style faves are a German who does grungy german chic very well or the very chic Italian. (yes am on ml have alot of free time to ruminate on such matters).
( Hope they don't read and know who I am after saying this)
