Evening!

I've just finished packing for a weekend away with MIL, BIL and family - timing could be better, as I am still a bit uncomfortable (plus it's going to chuck it down with rain), but the doctor gave me a cautious all-clear on Wednesday.

Again loads to catch up on - keeping up will be much easier in a week when mat leave starts 9at least for a few weeks!). Glad to see you back again LTEC.

OWW, hope ds is alright, does sound v painful! And MrsJ, hope the a/bs do their thing.

LTEC, I really like the Breton top and also the eiffel tower one - I'm too flat-chested to do bandeaus myself, but I like.

Navy Ash high tops have arrived and getting heavy usage already, so happy there; and I'm keeping to scarves I ordered from Toast, just got to work out the best ways of wearing them now.

So tomorrow's outfit is navy Noppies maternity trousers, Ash high tops, a short or long sleeve IO ruched maternity top depending on how warm it feels, with possibly my toast linen cardigan over. And at some point in the weekend I may have to brave the maternity swimsuit, I really hate maternity swimwear, but once you're in the water it feels great!

LetThemEatCake · 29/04/2010 22:24

I totally don't get it. Most of what goes on on MN eludes me - this is about the only thread I post on. Is it something to do with the weightloss threads??

tracey - neither. Things weren't good on the weekend, lots going on. And both exhausted. We bunkered down with the kids. Brunch, garden centre, park, barbecue in the garden. I may have been slightly overdressed, but I like that in a gal.

BTW - he liked the clothes I bought him!! not resistant to my re-styling attempts for once.

Anyone still after that leather tee that was sold out from Wallis?

OllieWollieWoo · 29/04/2010 23:04

Willie update!!! all fine (huge sigh of relief from me and DH). DH took him to the local childrens hospital where he was seen by 3 Drs (including willie specialist!) who said it was just a nasty cut (inside & out) and that to keep an eye on it but should be fine! Got him to drink lots to make sure no blood in urine and sent him home. He now has a weird looking red ring around it - seems quite proud of his war wound!!! DH quite traumatised by seeing Dr's pull and push 'it' around - said he felt sick on Luc's behalf! (Sorry if too much info!)

Thank you so much for all your nice messages - what a lovely group of ladies you are! And yes blossoming - I feel completely out of my comfort zone when dealing with the boys nether regions! DS1 insisted DH took him to hospital cos mummy had no willie!!!! So, we live to see another day of motherhood!

Glad he's ok OWW.

rufus101 · 30/04/2010 00:57

Will search american apparel asap LTEC. Love that eiffel tower top, and what a bargain. I'm totally flat chested though and the bandeau top would give me the heebie jeebies. "what if I had a wardrobe malfunction?"!!!!!! I can't go outside my front door without my Victoria Secret Display&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=GM-255912&page=1&cgname=OSBRPVERVIL&rfnb r708 miraculous braAnd it truly is.....

AllBuggiedOut · 30/04/2010 02:03

Loving the giraffe LTEC and already have the bangle on order! I have the butterfly bandeau which I'm really impressed with.

AllBuggiedOut · 30/04/2010 02:04

Glad all's ok, OWW

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 07:23

OWW so glad ds is ok, what a trouper!

Apuski glad you are ok too. Have a lovely weekend, take it easy and let everyone look after you.

redshoesnoknickers · 30/04/2010 07:33

Hi all!

Fe1ix I have that NL maxi and wear it with cropped denim jacket or cropped nude Vila cardi (both have 3/4 sleeves) and bangles and flat sandals or wedges. I find it quite flattering but I know others have not, think it depends on your shape rather than size iyswim?

LTEC I have been doing the basket dance with that Giraffe top because DS LOVES giraffes...not sure if I should let him influence my style too much though or I may suddenly be sporting an attractive range of Bob the Builder/Scooby Doo clothing Am rather keen on the bangle though...I love that Chloe top thing you linked too..beautiful...glad it is no longer stocked or my credit card would be in trouble!

Ollie glad your DS's winky is OK - poor soul! I had a call from DS school this week and the receptionist was all "Er, yes, well, Charlie has hurt himself in the playground...I can't discuss it on the phone....no I can't say what he's hurt...etc" Needless to say I was freaking out! Turned out he had tripped and banged his privates on a tree stump somehow and they are not allowed to have a look so I had too - it was fine he was just a bit quiet for an hour but I was they made it sound so dramatic on the phone - ffs just tell me he banged his bollocks! We're all grown ups!

I had a bit of an ebay attack last night and after the debacle of the disgusting unbranded £15 wedges i decided designer was the way to go dah-ling and won some Prada snakeskin wedges for £51 - surely a bargain? Not sure if this link will work as they are now bought??

I am going to give my Full Circle Maxi it's first outing today - whisking the kids off to mum's straight from school as we haven't seen them since Easter Sunday

Hope you all have a lovely day

PlumSykes · 30/04/2010 09:28

Hey all,

Ollie, sorry to hear about Dutch Willy Trauma. Am glad he got seen by a willy expert. Poor tiny DS, it must have hurt SO MUCH!

It is POURING again today but still warm, so am in APC breton stripe tank, cropped stone chino-ish trews and Havaianas (so can go out to car without getting shoes soggy.

Have already had to do some inpromptu plumbing, as teh washing machine locked out with a full load and lots of water inside, so was esp. glad of teh rubber flips-flops. Honestly, the glamour never stops, here!

Will have to reassess footwear before I go out, though, as can't drive in Havs. Have got long-awaited appt with Laura Mercier woman at noon, to tell me how to do make-up to go with my short hair. When I had long straggly pony/messy bun hair, I looked 'pretty' enough with no/minimal slap, but now need a bit more to look feminine, and not 12-year-old boy-ish.

Will report back!

While in town, will return my 2 New Look purchases from my bargain hunt of last weekend. The trousers look, well, cheap, and the top even cheaper. Can't find the receipt either, so will have to get vouchers. Annoying.

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 09:40

Hello everybody! Phew, what a relief OWW. I agree that VB's dresses are lovely, but absurdly £££, and I can't tell the diff from Roland Mouret either. I also think her models are too skinny - not an issue I'm at all polemical about but I think they look strange.

Love the 'yet another breton' and the peacock t-shirt (why does noone like the peacock tee except me??). Does anyone know where to buy the boob pads that you can sew into clothes? Last year I went into a fancy swimwear shop in St Tropez and the sales girl had an array of different shape foam extras to sew into the costumes as per customers' silhouette requirements. V good idea, but I don't know where to get them. (I didn't buy anything - it was really . I tried on some fabulous one-piece/palazzo pants combos that were gorgeous, and only realised after that they were 850 euro )

Dinner last night was nice, though the resaurant, while beautiful, had a rather tourist/corporate feel to it I thought. Outfit made dh go "Wow". I have given up sugar (sort of). I didn't have pudding and today I had a rice cake with ricotta, and a caffè latte before taking dcs to school, then just had a boiled egg and soldiers (!) on return, with a cup of tea.

Red that's so absurd that they can't have a look at his willy if he fell over in the playground. World's gone mad.

notyummy · 30/04/2010 09:43

Morning all! So glad to hear that the willy is ok

Have just been reviewing links from last night - love the Fever work dress and maxi, but as a serial maxi dress buyer I am going to be wise and not click!

Also like that Parisian bandeau top - I have a strapless padded bra that would be just the ticket underneath it. I am quite tempted by that.

Today I am wearing 8 year old Gap Long and Lean jeans (wise - shopping the wardrobe and all that!) and a plain blue long sleeved top from Asda - very glam...

Am considering just popping MBTs on with this ensemble as frankly I may as well try to tone up if I am not going for maximum style points to day!

Hope you all have a great day.

notyummy · 30/04/2010 09:44

Roma - 850 euros!! Did they have a woven gold lining or something similar. That is madness....

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 09:46

I'm wearing my jbrand leggings, gold ash high tops, layered grey and black H&M tees and grey bf cardi. It was 26oC yesterday here and today it's freezing.

OWW are you in orange??

hf128219 · 30/04/2010 09:47

boobybits.com is meant to be quite good.

I read all this thread - I just don't have time to post! Although my bank balance has been taking a hammering of late

PlumSykes · 30/04/2010 09:47

Roman, is this the kind of thing you mean?

If so, a haberdashery store is where you'd need to look. If you were in UK, I'd just say John Lewis-do you have a Peter Jones equivalent?

Agree that it is ridic Red's DS's boy bits can't be examined. What's even more insane, as that they can';t even say boy bits/bollocks/balls etc, for fear of turning to stone.

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 09:49

I'm wearing Sonia Rykiel plum and purple dress, VBruno skinny belt and VW knackered suede boots to dress it down. (oh and messy blonde bed-hair).

Nearly about to take the plunge and purchase jeans. Now which jbrand ones are the bomb??

Romanarama · 30/04/2010 09:49

Thanks hf! Cake I know what you mean about the rest of mumsnet being mystifying - esp all the chat stuff. But also a lot of the S&B stuff - there's a thread going at the mo about Boden being aspirational. What an odd idea. Now Lanvin, that's aspirational...

MarshaBrady · 30/04/2010 09:52

Oh god MN always talks about how aspirational Boden and John Lewis are. Seriously.

Fel1x · 30/04/2010 09:53

OWW - glad ds is ok, what a brave little boy

We are just off to toddler group (I find being around lots of people keeps me sane so we are always out at groups or peoples houses or have people round ours!) and while I am out our mad as a box of frogs but lovely cleaner is coming who has been stuck overseas for AGES with the volcanic ash - so glad to have her back!

Have a good day all, will catch up later!!

LetThemEatCake · 30/04/2010 09:56

well, if you aspire to look like a 1950s housewife while merrily whipping up batches of fairy cakes while cherubic children blow bubbles at your feet, then sure, it's aspirational.

hey check this out. We all know I love a bit of pink ... but silk to boot, bargain, and exposing a flash of my best bit (back) - yes or no?

glad you had a lovely night Roman
