Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

Just a quick post before setting off to say I love that metallic vest from M&S. I'll be at Westfield tomorrow so might try and get one.

I'm going to be worrying about Cake all weekend now. Hope she's ok and just resting.

redshoesnoknickers · 24/04/2010 10:33

Whoops! I just bought this, this and this from asos - can't wait til they arrive

And these shoes which might be horrid but at £15 i'll take the risk!

Now while i'm on a roll where's that people tree dress...

PlumSykes · 24/04/2010 11:01

Just back from a whistle-top tour of the high street.

Was parked up and ready to shop by 8.30, went to M&S to return lovely but wierdly sized canvas Bensimon-alikes, then went to GAP to use 30% voucher. Only, once I got to till, realised I'd left the damn think in my other bag. They put all my bits to one side, though, so will just go back on Mon and pay.

Then, a strange thing happened. I had the urge to shop outside my comfort zone. And went to Primark.

Even though it was only about 9.15, it was heaving, and I was slightly appalled by how much stock was already on teh floor, but did buya cute pair of slouchy denim shorts with rolled cuffs that come just above the knee. For £9!

Then I was on a cheap-fix roll, so I went to New Look, and bought some stone, roll-up chinos (not the same as yours, tracey, but v. similar) and a purple cotton top with crochet trim.

THEN, as I was on the way back to the car, I passed BHS, and saw this bobble trim scarf in the window. I had to duck, to check no-one saw me going into the House of Frump, but came out with it in black and coral, as it was 2 for £20.

And was back home by 10.15!

Loving the Peopletree dress, this one looks good too, I think

Ooh, Apuski, saw Ash Virgin Hightops in John Lewis yesterday, in tan leather and also navy canvas. The tan are not online, though the navy are but you could probably get your local store to get them for you, as they can look on the computer to discover where they are in stock. (Or just ring the Cardiff one and get them to send to you)

notyummy · 24/04/2010 11:09

redshoes - loving your work! That drop waist dress is lovely - although not for me. I have small waist/flat tum but biggish bottom so those sorts of cuts do me no favours. I linked to that Full Circle maxi earlier in this thread and it got a lot of love, however we decided (guided IIRC but our leader cakey) that it might be too hard to wear if over a size 8. You must let us know how wearable it is, as I think it look FIERCE!

Can't link though to the ebay purcahse btw.

notyummy · 24/04/2010 11:11

at plum leopard crawling into BHS in an attempt not to be seen! I went in there last year to get dd some leggings and no one was in there - surely it will be the next big high street casualty?

redshoesnoknickers · 24/04/2010 11:42

I decided against the people tree dress as i keep imagining SamCam when i see it now - thanks alot everything!

Oh god yummy I missed that advice on the Full Circle dress - am def not size 8! Am hoping it will cling to curves and drape a bit over tummy...will see when it arrives - i'm excited!

Plum that is impressive shopping - you must have got up at the crack of dawn! Like the scarves - v. cute

redshoesnoknickers · 24/04/2010 11:48

Not sure why the shoe link won't work - they are gold strappy sandal high wedges with a cork wedge bit - gorgeously OTT ... it could go either way!!

vinauchocolat · 24/04/2010 11:50

Hello all! Well I have tried to be avid but ended up very wise this week as my internet went down.. and couldn't quite face a trek into central london or even c.wharf for shopping therapy. Internet now back but some sites don't work for me? Bizarre- think it's a sign

LTEC I hope you are OK

BHS must surely be the next casualty- I had to cut through a BHS recently and literally walked straight through-no people, just some reduced teddy bears next to polyester pyjamas

Filimg's been put back a week thank goodness, not my thing but I've promised- may give me time to er get a haircut or do something to make myself feel better- really want to get teeth whitened, I know it's OTT just for that but I have wanted it done for ages, it's just a question of finding the time and the childcare!

Did manage a few purchases of course (avid) but not overly exciting/ found bloch shoes marginally cheaper here

OH tomorrow I have to go to a lunch with PILs with ''smart dress code'' and am BFing- dreading it dreading it dreading it!

vinauchocolat · 24/04/2010 11:52

please excuse appalling typos have angry neglected child on lap!

vinauchocolat · 24/04/2010 12:02

OH mrsjuan the UO combats come up very large imo

Also- re the wearing skinny jeans I find paige are the most flattering for my oversized backside, they somehow make it look small and peachy a la reebok trainer ad, when actually it's more like peter kay's.

I got these james jeans ones a while ago and am ashamed to say I haven't actually worn them, but they are quite high waisted and have a very very corset-y effect on your tummy

vinauchocolat · 24/04/2010 12:06

argh red can't get your links to work, seems ebay and asos will not allow me onto their sites (!) have I been blacklisted for ordering too much stuff ?

hellsbelles · 24/04/2010 12:18

impressive hauls! Red really looking forward to hearing how your shop looks in RL as I like the look online. I read the article about the jeans lady Brix Smith something or other and am very tempted to go and get fitted. Though Jbrands do seem to work well for me

And I love the thought of Plum dodging in and out of shops on sort of covert shopping mission.

CAkey - I hope you aren't posting because you are out being fabulous somewhere. But I fear not and if you are poorly I hope you are getting better quickly.

hellsbelles · 24/04/2010 12:23

sorry Tracey - meant to say...I'm not till the 10th so I have a few weeks yet.

vinauchocolat · 24/04/2010 12:26

Yes haha re PLum's shopping mission! The shops here don't open til 10 at earliest, v annoying as I would prefer to dodge crowds and go at unsociable hours of morning

Has anyone ever tried 'yummie tummie' tops? I read that they roll up a lot- but I'm kind of tempted to get a couple vests for my slightly blobby post DC2 tummy

RedBlueRed · 24/04/2010 13:09

Thanks for all the job congrats.

Plum your shopping trip tales are a very funny read!
Redshoes I love that maxi dress.

I've been shopping on a shoe string for work and am pleased with myself.

I have ordered these, this and this, all DIRT cheap in the sale and ideal for the office.

It is practical and medicinal as I'm feeling unwell today, glands up/bit of a temperature, that sort of thing.

I think I might be a bit run down myself as I have been hammering the cross trainer this week and also gave blood on Thursday so...

Ltec I hope the ABs kicked in pronto and you are off having a lovely time.

Right, now I know I said I would try to be ever so understanding when my DH did something 'wrong'...BUT!!!! I am to say that I have just recovered from an angry rage!!! and a bout of tears ... but with reason I feel!!!

He's rushed off out for cycle ride with mate and he put our 'in toilet training' DD to bed (I did 2 others and cleaned up kitchen after lunch), and even though I asked him to make sure he put a nappy on her, as its only the 3rd day and she's having a nap, he didn't (even though he said he did), and she's just cried because she pooed herself.. Cue v distressed toddler, and mess of bedding!!! I had to bath her! I am ............phew!!!! Aaaaarghhhhhhhhhh.......................Feel better now!

Why are men such plonkers sometimes!!!? I really love mine and I still think it!!!!

DolceeBanana · 24/04/2010 14:30

Sorry about the moan ! Good job Dh wasn't here when it happened as I was lionesque (raaaaahr!!!) ... Now, like the canvas Ash hi-tops.... have the greyish/taupe low tops and love 'em....

Vin - I'd like my teeth whitened...they were naturally v white and need a lift I feel....Anyone rec any procedures? I'm an impatient old so-and-so and would prefer the quickest route possible....

Plus sunscreens...anyone recommend any good, great smelling without parabens...?

DolceeBanana · 24/04/2010 14:36

Now Choo - what did you purchase at MW? Pray do tell......

Everything - yes 5 teeth is rather alot! At least she will be able to chew things...she is already champing at the bit ...

Tracey - how'd you get on in Bath? Anything nice ?

Anyway, now I've calmed down I'm going to eat my lunch in peace and scan houses...do you notice a bit more coming on to the market Tracey? Just gradually.....

Happy Days...looking forward to BBQ in garden en famille tonight....once resentment has quelled completely and I can rationally point out the error of Mr Dolce's ways.....

traceybath · 24/04/2010 14:42

Dolcee - similar poo disaster here. DH then urgently had work to do so I had to deal with it - hey ho.

Bath a bit rubbish today or maybe I just wasn't in the mood for shopping .

Returned scarf to reiss (Plum your bhs ones are dead ringers for the reiss one) but of course could find nothing I liked in there. So now have credit note which I know means I will never find anything I like in there ever again.

blossoming · 24/04/2010 14:48

Hi all, great shopping.
I'm miles from a shop in a farm park having a lovely time with the family.
Hoping you're okay cakey.
Hope you and your dh have time for some lurving everything.

traceybath · 24/04/2010 14:49

Dolcee - yeap to new houses coming on but some agents are having a larf re prices. And honestly - do some people not even do a little de-cluttering before having the photos done??

redshoesnoknickers · 24/04/2010 14:53

I'm so glad i'm over the poo-disaster stage - my twins are 5 now so i'm pretty safe on that score! Nice bargains cain hope you feel better soon.

I quite fancy teeth whitening but you have to go careful as I knew a man who had it done and his teeth practically glowed like florescent tube lighting - scary! It did calm down after a while but twas very "Troy McClure" for a while!

I think i'm going to tear out that article re: jeans lady hells and keep it in my drawer so when I feel like i've lost enough weight/toned up I can treat myself

notyummy · 24/04/2010 14:54

Just back from our local shops while dd did gymnastics. Purchased this. Soooo flattering on - this is not the best picture tbh, but it looked great. Can't see myself wearing it as a dress (maybe 20 years ago....) however great with jeans, shorts or even trousers for work.

DolceeBanana · 24/04/2010 15:37

Yes Tracey - I'm now over the 'incident' but in case you didn't notice (!) I was fuming!!!! Anyway, shame you also had to contend with the same!! Just as well DH didn't try to clear up actually !!!! Mine would get in a real bother!!! It's usually my domain too...oh the joys! And yes, some are def having a larf ! I spotted and second viewed my dream of a place a few months ago though, and was playing it coolish (as per DHs instructions!!!!), telling the agent that I was int but didn't think it worth the price (inside I was screaming, please, please, please)...and that I'd like to make an offer, a bit lower than the ask. price, but we were cash buyers, in rented, blah-de-blah....He advised me that they'd had two offers of the asking price by two couples in similar positions to us!!!!! Oh ! Needless, we didn't get it!!!! I keep driving around to it - It was gorgeous!!! In a little hamlet in the Cotswolds, fab views, completely gutted and redone (fab Aga kitchen).....but not for us, clearly!

Agree and why oh why don't some people bother to dress their houses to sell, especially when they want lots for it!!! We viewed a couple of houses last weekend and the ultimate insult was our 3.5 yo DS stepping in dog poo that the oh so frightfully lovely people hadn't bothered to clear from their lawns....and when we arrived (11.00am) they were having what they termed a late breakfast!!!! 'Scuse me!!!????

The other house, at a similar price was immaculate (frankly what I would expect for the money)! Hey ho....Hope we both find our dream homes soon.........!

Notyummy, yes can imagine that it is v flattering! Lucky find!
