Everything - love those pumps but thats no surprise as they're animaltastic.

Not sure about cropped jeans but purely because DH calls me lieutenant uhuru (trekkie reference) if I wear them which puts me off slightly.

Hopefully your DH will realise tomorrow that he's being a bit of a tit and pull himself together. Did he get you any nice surprises?

And yes, Bath is silly prices really - always amusing when people move from london expecting to get a Georgian townhouse from the proceeds of the sale of their flat in london.

Right - have made pizzas for dinner and just had a piece of chocolate cake which was delicious but will have to be super good tomorrow. Am going to go for a run tomorrow and scare all the cows.

traceybath · 24/04/2010 18:48

Oh saw stunning dress in reiss if anyones got any glam events coming up.

Unfortunately I don't.

In fact realised that my wardrobe contains quite a bit of going out stuff and I don't actually go out enough. So resolving to change that.

Evening all, has been a lovely sunny day here. I wore hasbeens for the first time
Painted my toes a nice purply grey

DH is away so I took the boys over to the in laws for half of today, which was nice. They ahve a huge garden so we spent the whole time outside.
There was a slightly incident at tea time though, where I was telling DS1 that the red thing in the salad is a radish and isnt that a funny word to say (he has speech therapy and struggles with those sounds so we try and say new words/hard sounds often) and DS replied back 'no, thats not a funny word, FART is a funny word'. MIL and I ignored him so as to not encourage him and because luckily FIL (very prim and proper) hadnt heard... only for DS to then say 'DID YOU HEAR ME?? I SAID FART IS A FUNNY WORD' of course FIL heard that time!!!

Everything - glad your DH is home and that you managed to go out and have at least a couple of hours to yourself. Sorry to hear he's not been the most helpful so far though, hopefully after a good nights sleep you will all have a lovely day together tomorrow.

Dolce - sorry to hear about the poo incident!!! DS2 will be potty training soon, so have all that to come (again!). He is 2.2yrs and currently at the stage where he will wee on the potty at bath time if I promise him a chocolate button for doing so!

LTEC - hope you are recovering, do let us all know you are ok soon if you can. Hopefully you are putting your feet up and resting right now!

notyummy · 24/04/2010 20:14

tracey - I also have a wardrobe for a lifestyle I no longer have! Dhs job means that previously we have had to attend quite a few formal functions and I have a host of lovely long dresses. At the moment they are gathering dust (although hopefully if I stay the same size they are mostly classic enough to be aired again in a couple of years when he may be back in a role that demands evening dos!)

monkeysmama · 24/04/2010 20:17

Hey girls

Not had time to read - in mad pre holiday rush - but have noticed no LTEC messages. Cakey* I hope you're having great fun and being spoilt rotten. Take care hey.

I had a free half hour earlier and bought my H&M trews in stone, a white tee and a pair of black sandals in New Look. When I got in dp had just opened the Amex bill and was a red shiney colour so luckily I didn't have more of a haul.

Right, off to Italy in a few hours so that is it for me til next week.

Take care all and please let Cakey know we're all thinking of her. X

notyummy · 24/04/2010 20:18

Have a great holiday mm.

traceybath · 24/04/2010 20:21

Have a lovely time MM!

Fel1x - thats funny! DS2 is having a speech assesment in a couple of weeks - he's 2.25 and his speech isn't very clear. No other worries but suspect he'll need a bit of speech therapy - takes after DH who was apparently a slow talker too. Tis a worry though.

I've just grumpily cleaned the kitchen for the millionth time today - golly, sometimes the drudgery of endless cooking/bottom wiping/housework gets very tedious.

Having a glass of wine now and some peace and quiet.

Everything - hopefully DH is saving the perfume for a nice surprise later.

bunnymother · 24/04/2010 20:46

Hmm, uber quick post from me. Do you think this is the kind of photo that sells a skirt?

traceybath · 24/04/2010 20:48

Golly - I almost spat my wine out at that.

blossoming · 24/04/2010 20:54

What a photo!
Enjoy Italy mm, be sure to report back on what the italiennes are wearing.
Relaxing with glass of wine and yet more rugby. Had a lovely family day, I wore the beach dress! Dcs were over tired when we got home but worth it for a rare day out in good weather.

GeorginaWorsley · 24/04/2010 21:04

DolceeBanana · 24/04/2010 21:07

Hideous Bunny! Slightly weird I have to say.... What were they thinking of?

Know what you mean about cleaning up...I am often grumpy doing this...I love having a family but feel v resentful about the time I spend cleaning up the sh*t, in every way, most days...cheerful little soul aren't I?

We had the BBQ this eve and lovely as it was and DH made a real effort with it - you know how men are with such things...It was all a bit late, (i.e. later than normal mealtimes), the kids were tired and ate, guess what, NOT the lovingly prepared minted lamb kebabs; nor the garlic and ginger doused prawns, or even the basil and tomato salad my DH insisted upon......noooooo, just the sausages...a bit of bread and a potato each....! Well I could have saved a lot of trouble but Mr D was a man on a mission!!!
So be it!

Grumpy kids+grumpyDH=bottle open vv early in our house!!!!

Fel1x - funny story about DS....! Kids love anything to do with farting....although we have managed to get ours to say parp...but they have been known to ask people if they just parped...oh the shame of it!

MM - Have fab hols! Where are you off to?

Tracey - enjoy the vino - just on my first bottle glass; v nice too!!!!

Everything - glad DH home - he'll be better tomorrow; try and bite your tongue tonight if he does anything irritating-which he will no doubt, because he's tired!!! You'll feel better ...Enjoy the mags, I love agood old haul of mags to keep me going....actually I am obsessed with buying mags...Mr D despairs of my addiction...apart from all the house mags-H&G, CL, Living, English Home etc.....I buy Grazia, Vogue, Tatler, Cotswold Life

Plus I love reading the supps at the weekend....God I'm rambling......

DolceeBanana · 24/04/2010 21:11

Sorry, MM, yes, remembered that you are off to Italy to meet your namesake...Have a fabulous time....Ciao Bella!

Fleecy · 24/04/2010 21:27

Hello everyone,

Have been outside enjoying the sunshine today - two toddlers + one sand and water table = one busy mum! Then on the phone to my poor sis - she's had a nasty bug the last few days, as have my BIL and niece. On the plus side, she's lost 5lb in the last few days!

Have now opened the wine...

bunjies good luck with your interview

cain well done on getting the new job

GW I have that cardi in the coral colour - looks lovely with a white vest, jeans and chunky beads or a scarf

Dolce loving your magazine haul! I have Grazia delivered and we get the Sunday Times but that's it for me. I bought my Mum a subscription to 25 Beautiful Homes and she passes them on to me when she's done.

Fleecy · 24/04/2010 21:27

Oh yes have fun mm

Interesting re magazines. I used to read elle and vogue but gave up for some reason. I have a subscription to instyle and I love glamour. I really can't be bothered with grazia but buy look sometimes. I get the times every day.

RedBlueRed · 24/04/2010 21:52

That is a bizarre photo bunny - really struggling to see what they wanted to demonstrate...stretchiness of the skirt perhaps?

I too have cracked open the wine however, I'm still feeling a bit poo so have just swilled down a couple of max strength cold & flu capsules with a mouthful of tasty red. Mmmmm!

I very nearly ordered some hasbeens today but actually held off because as much as I love the sky high ones, are they really an investment or will I look a bit last season quite quickly? It really would be a 'lust' buy and now that I am actually in a position to seriously consider buying them I am wondering if it would be a 'wise' buy...

Has anyone heard from ltec?

blossoming · 24/04/2010 21:56

Avoidance of high fashon and anything 'directional'!

ApuskiDusky · 24/04/2010 21:58

Very quickly dropping in to say thanks Plum about the Ash high tops - I tried John Lewis Cardiff but the tan ones seem to have gone, am getting the navy ones instead. Cheers!

Have a great time in Italy MM.

Hope you're OK, LTEC.

Off to bed now.

notyummy · 24/04/2010 22:23

Great picture bunny !

Hmm magazines - I too have a habit.

Grazia, Glamour, Marie Claire, She, Zest (and sometimes Essentials and Red as well )

hellsbelles · 24/04/2010 22:38

bunny made me laugh so much.

I too am a magazine junkie...but bizzarely it is only recently I've even started looking at the fashion pages.

Fleecy · 24/04/2010 23:22

Quick question...

which fake tan do you use? Not the gradual one but a proper instant one? I used Xen tan last year and it works well on arms but goes patchy on legs. Have tanned tonight with Xen tan on arms and 2yr old Soltan on legs so will see how that goes
