Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
GeorgiesGirl · 16/03/2010 08:40

Quickly de-lurking just to say gold Ash trainers, new, size 7 ending on ebay at 9.38 this morning. Current bid is £34. Was going to go for it myself but have bought so many new shoes recently that I don't think I would be very popular in this household if I did. Thought I'd share!

blossoming · 16/03/2010 09:34

Okay, I've just come back from the school run, and have changed into:

this kettlewell wrap dress. Do not laugh. I am also wearing sky high jimmy choo silver sandals. I look lovely.

Seriously, this dress. What a find. I could maybe size down, but I won't as I think the dress could be a dress for life. It's a lovely warm jersey, and wraps tightly, so I don't need the raspberry camisole, but will keep as it is one of my best colours. I am such a convert. Go forth to House of Colour!

So I am now sorted for the christening, whenever it may be, but will um an ah over the sandals, as if it is cool, remember this is Wales, I would rather a closed toe and sheer stockings. (Definitely more Charlotte than Carrie/Samantha).
So shall keep the bargainous dress (compared to my normal dvf standard) and search for some raspberry coloured heels, or silver, or something.

I wonder if someone will buy my choo boots, auction ending soon...

Maybe these would go

bunnymother · 16/03/2010 10:26

Quick one as DD about to wake from nap...

MM - please step away from those patchwork jeans. Please.

Hells - what a lovely DH you have!

Rage - think you might have v similar taste to mine - loved all your NAP links!

Blossoming - congrats on the dress, it looks lovely, and the LK Bennett shoes look to be a great match. I love the look of many LKB shoes, but they pinch my feet so can't actually wear them.

Esher - God, how I love your Sonia Rykiel red coat. Its just sublime.

Cakey - didn't end up doing RL shopping on Saturday as DH and I took DD to the playground. So cute seeing sweetie enjoying herself and DH loved it too. Thanks for the heads up on The Wiggles, but she won't sit still long enough to watch the concert. Maybe when she is older.

Tracey - I feel your pain!! DD is 9 months' old, and has been waking several times a night lately, inc screaming (think its teething pain). The sleep deprivation has quite affected how I feel about everything, inc being a SAHM. Although think if I threw a job into the mix, would just be even more tired. I'm not actually wanting to put DD into child care, just long for a break as so tired. Better today as she only woke once last night.

Went into Zara yesterday and v much liking many things. It really is my most reliable RL store - end up getting so many things from there. Will have to go again, as was just on a reconnaissance due to restless DD.

Bunnymother, lkb shoes pinch my feet too. Willhave to have a RL shop to Russell & Bromley when my local store reopens. It's only them and choos I can rely on for comfortable heels.

RageAgainstTheWashingMachine · 16/03/2010 11:06

Morning all, very quick post before I settle down to digest the weekends posts. If you go through this site you get can extra 10% off at my-wardrobe and allsaints (even when using discount codes). You need to set up an account but it is free. There are loads of other retailers on there and the discounts differ by retailer. Am a bit at not posting earlier but it didn't cross my mind until just now when ordering this new purse.

notyummy · 16/03/2010 11:09

mm gald you enjoyed Poole - will have to add that HduV to our list of ones to try and get to!

Not enough time to comment on all the links. Will be frantically putting together a capsule wardrobe for Eurodisney that will be heavy on leggings/jeans and MBTs. Just need to find some nice tops to make me look vaguely presentable!

vinauchocolat · 16/03/2010 11:22

Can I out myself as a lurker and ask what you think of this bag?

I need a work handbag and I was thinking black.. nearly bought a miu miu one from net a porter but I rather need to pay mortgage instead! Do you think it's awful? I kind of need help, have been out of work for a while and feel like I have lost all sense of self and any fashion sense at all. I usually wear mostly black. I'm 25 btw. Thanks

Blossoming - really pleased you love your new dress so much! Its lovely when something you buy makes you feel so happy!

Hi vinauchocolat - I love, love, love that bag - fab style and gorgeous colour and perfect for work. Would look great with anything black but bring a real dose of colour to the outfit. Buy it!

vinauchocolat · 16/03/2010 11:52

OK hana on your advice it has been ordered! I have had a big therapeutic clear out recently and am trying to only buy classic things I can use in a few years time as well, but that's possibly gone out the window a bit DP doesn't approve of the classic item purchasing despite my protests that it is sensible, he thinks I should buy nothing

nothing! can you imagine the horror

LetThemEatCake · 16/03/2010 12:00

fabulous bag vin!

gorgeous dress blossoming, have you linked to it before? must have missed it. So great that you feel so good in it

mm really happy you had a wonderful w'end

Choo clogs arrived and are just too darn high for day wear - and, tbh (whispers) not all that nice. Back they go!! The hunt for a day heel continues

traceybath · 16/03/2010 12:05

God - anyone else on the outnet sale? Its so slow . . .

VerityBrulee · 16/03/2010 12:13

Well, hello all, you have been so busy in the last week I'll need all day to catch up. I have been in agony with a suspected ulcer [ouch], was feeling soo unwell, but still managed to buy thesethey are a gorgeous shade of dusty hyacinth blue. I am wearing them now with navy opaques and navy tulip skirt, v pleased.

Postman brought me www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/Mens-Coats-Jackets/ME041/Mens-Casual-Washed-Mac.html on friday and it's great, much better quality than the womens coats I had been trying on. I could not find a single breasted mac anywhere, just trenches, trenches everywhere. I got the XS, the sleeves are a bit long, but I unbuttoned the cuffs and turned them back. I really like it with straight leg jeans, ash trainers and slouchy bag.

Hana so sorry the Layla isn't for you, I feel responsible after raving about it I didn't see the photo of it on you, but just looked at your profile and you are so pretty

I am in awe of everyone's optimism buying maxi dresses and shorts It is still very cold in Dublin, and grey today. Mind you, tomorrow is St Patricks Day which is usually one of the coldest days of the year. It can only get better from then on!

Off to dig out my vintage camel coat after being inspried be these chic ladiesParticularly love the one with the white jeans, must get a pair.

OllieWollieWoo · 16/03/2010 12:31

M&S sale on today - those Indigo straight leg jeans that get good reviews on S&B are down to 12 pounds if anyone is interested???

blossoming · 16/03/2010 12:47

Well, my Choos didn't sell. Maybe I'll try again in early Autumn, esp if everyone is out buying maxi dresses and shorts.

Don't worry verity, it's bloody freezing in Wales too. Although gorgeous and sunny here today.
However, must confess to having bought my short white shorts back in Feb!! Well you never know... Apart from the fact that I only wear short shorts on holiday, which is in August. Never mind.
I'm wearing those m&s indigos today. They really are amazing if down to 12 pounds.

Fleecy · 16/03/2010 13:28

GeorgiesGirl wish I'd come on here earlier! Never mind!

verity sorry to hear you've not been well. But good to know it hasn't held you back from shopping! I had a look at the camel stuff - and realised I have a near-identical bag, boots and coat to the first pic. Might give it a whirl but with black peg trousers instead...

I do Cashback Kings but they don't have a very wide range of retailers so I shall try this site as well.

Romanarama · 16/03/2010 14:11

Bored of thinking about my job interviews. What do you think of this (with heels) for my Ibiza cool summer nightclub party (just booked 3 days in suite in same hotel as 2 other friend couples, all sans enfants!!)

Romanarama · 16/03/2010 14:29

Or maybe this?

with something like these choos but 1/2 the price preferably

blossoming · 16/03/2010 15:04

Hi, romanarama.
I think the first dress is too short for heels (sorry if I sound like your mum), and I think the choos are too low.
Like the anglomania, but prefer the pucci style.

LetThemEatCake · 16/03/2010 16:21

think the first dress would look amazing, but with metallic flat glads; the second would look good with the Choos or similar but maybe better and less, um, obvious, with embellished strappy flats like the Antik Batiks or sim

you are so tall and lean you don't need the help of a heel!!

GeorginaWorsley · 16/03/2010 17:12

Hello all.
Anyone else struggling with what to wear now it feels alittle more spring like??
I wore a silk top today in grey, raspberry and cream but couldn't decide what to wear on bottonm half.Eventually plumped for grey trousers!

Romanarama · 16/03/2010 18:25

I can't imagine going all the way to Ibiza for a party and not wearing heels!

bunjies · 16/03/2010 19:14

Evening all.

Great bag Vin.

Sorry the choos weren't up to the job Cake.

Thanks Ollie for the heads up on the M&S sale. I was planning on getting a pair of their straight leg jeans when I'm over next week but you've saved me the hassle of having to search out a, probably sold-out, pair of size 12 short leg ones. And such a great price too . Forgot to link through from cashback site (thanks Rage) but it would have only been 20p so not too worried.

I wish I was struggling with what to wear, ATM all I need are my paint spattered jeans & top as I'm decorating ds' bedroom. It's not even the exciting painting bit either just patching holes and sanding ugh!

Good news about my hair appt. They've said they will do the colouring as long as I sign a waiver to say I won't sue them if something goes horrifically wrong! I was planning on going to Vidal Sassoon on hf's recommendation but they wouldn't budge on the patch test. Also thinking about having myself a massage here first. I'm so sad I'm already planning my day! A bit of shopping, massage, nice lunch followed by hair appt with my complimentary glass of vino. One week to go - I can't bloody wait!
