Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
bunjies · 16/03/2010 19:21

The Pucci with heels would remind me of something Coleen Rooney would wear TBH.

Romanarama · 16/03/2010 19:42

Not sure who Coleen Rooney is (not lived in UK since 1996....)

notyummy · 16/03/2010 19:42

The second dress is lovely roma. If it were me I would take some heels but also get some fierce gladiator flats ....and then see what mood I was in for the big party night!

hellsbelles · 16/03/2010 20:03

bunjies - good plan to have the massage first. One of the few times I had a massage (which I love but somehow never ever get a chance) - she massaged my head as well so I ended up with birdsnest hair and I had to go straight out afterwards! So at least if you are having your hair done after they can sort it out.

I'm really surprised about you not being able to sign the disclaimer at Vidal Sassoon. I got to Charles Worthingtons which is a good salon and I've never had to have a patch test (but I probably did sign a disclaimer once many moons ago).

Roman - I agree on the comments. Lovely dresses with flats. Coleen is a footballers wife.

MM - yes - they are vile

Lovely lovely bag Vin - can you let us know what it's like in RL.

LTEC - so sorry about the choos - I thought that about the height when I saw them but knew you were a more experienced heel wearer than me so hoped you be o.k. with them

Blossoming - so glad the dress is a hit. You reminded me about my colours when you got yours done and I've been wearing a bright pink scarf a lot - and getting tons of compliments on it. So it really does make a difference.

Verity - glad the coat is good.

Phew - I know I"ve missed a hundred links of so but I'm knackered so please forgive me.

Ah, I feel very at the talk of Ibiza. Dp and I used to go (separately) at the start and end of the season every year for a years, and when we met we went three times that first summer together . We did discuss going this year with dd but then thought it is nice to keep somewhere we go on our own, though that is years away I think. The nearest we've been is to the hotel in Cyprus we went to last spring that had a beautiful Ibiza vibe & made us feel young and carefree again.

Anyway, just popped in to say I am proud to say I steered away from the jeans. I have a bit of a problem with ripped, patched, distressed etc denim in that I have a massive soft spot for it. If I ruled the fashion world we'd all be wearing ripped jeans, as much animal print as possible, multiple pairs of sunglasses and comfy shoes.

I do need some jeans though. Any suggestions? I am a size 12 and want boyfriend style to roll up.

Blossoming glad about the dress. I like to hear when people love something they're wearing. I have never had my colours done but was wearing a navy top the other day & dp stopped still and said "wow, you look beautiful". That never happens and it was only a t shirt from Gap so I am now on the look out for navy tops.

Cakey sorry about the shoes. I think that the clog quest, like the maxi dress search, will prove fruitful eventually.

Hells is your LO ok now?

Bunjies def get the massage first. I've done it the other way round and got a very oily head.

My English feels very awkward this evening. Don't know whether to blame it on an afternoon in the park with the Italian mums or two glasses of wine .

Right, off to make up stories for dd about fairies playing on Peppa Pig's Grandpa's boat in Paris .

annamackay · 16/03/2010 20:26

I loove that one posted by LTEC, animal one is cute too..
thing is I am hoping to loose weight before it gets hot (that is if it does? fingers crossed)
so im NOT buying any new clothes for the summer
and yes that does mean I AM buying shoes & bags & I need sunglases..

Fleecy · 16/03/2010 20:40

Evening all,

Popping in quickly as have finished one job and about to start another...

mm I also have a soft spot for ripped denim, animal print and sunglasses. I prefer impractical shoes though!

I bought some of these and they're rather nice. Paid £9 for them on eBay - I don't think it's worth paying loads as I'm fairly sure I won't wear them for years to come. You can wear them down or up though. There's none on there at the moment but you could save the search and see.

ltec sorry the shoes didn't fit. They're so lovely!

hells loving the pink scarf - I'm feeling the need for more colour now the sun is shining (well not right now, obviously!). Bring on Spring!

monkeysmama · 16/03/2010 20:46

They look nice Fleecy - I will have a look for some. I also prefer impractical shoes. I wore heels throughout my pg and when I had dd my calves hurt like crazy as I got used to flat shoes. I would wear my studded shoe boots everyday if I could run in them. Thanks for jeans tip .

hellsbelles · 16/03/2010 20:49

MM - LO is fine and back to her smiley self.

What a glamourous Ibiza story! How romantic.

LetThemEatCake · 16/03/2010 21:06

ha ha, is that a dig at my legendary big feet Fleecy? The Choos did fit me, they just didn't fit the bill.

Is it really so hard to find a pair of mid-heel brown/ natural sandally shoes that don't look like something a geography teacher would wear??

hells - which Hasbeens do you have?

reminder everyone - My Last 5 Girlfriends opens this weekend

Oh, and free delivery at Urban Outfitters on orders over £50 for 3 days.

how quickly did the Outnet sale sell out??!! Sheesh. A week, my foot.

hellsbelles · 16/03/2010 21:14

too busy bloody working so I completely missed the outnet sale

Cake - I've got these. Also ordered these to compare.

I think I got the sizing wrong. I followed their size guide and ordered a 38 (I'm normally a 39/6) which I think was wrong.

Consequently I could hardly squeeze my feet into style number 2.

I've kept style 1 - which just about fits and is quite nice (and red!)

PlumSykes · 16/03/2010 21:16

Trip to Bicester today. Swooned at everything in Marni, bought plenty for the DCs in the White Co/Cath Kidston/Petit Bateau, and also the following for me:

these sandals, but in all-black leather, with brass studs on the cuff

this tomato red patent croc shoulder bag/giant clutch. 'Tis fabulous.

Jigsaw navy/grey leather shopper with gold hardware.

A good day for accessories!

plum - love the bag! Wow! Can't quite see the shoes properly from the pic. But glad they are good.

hellsbelles · 16/03/2010 21:52

fuckity fuck. Just got a text - SIL is planning a big do for her birthday on the Fri (day before our big meet). I can hardly do more than 1 evening out a week. Never mind 2 in a row . I shall have to start practising now!

hellsbelles · 16/03/2010 21:52

oops - posted on the wrong thread! I must stop drinking in wine. Sorry. Night all!

CHOOGIRL · 16/03/2010 21:54

Evening Ladies

What do you think of
this? Is it Rat friendly?

Also has anyone tried Halston in RL?

Finally, a delicate question. How do you dress around your 'ahem' less S&B friends?
I have a friend who is lovely but whenever we go out for a drink I feel slightly overdressed. Want to wear my Rats out for a drink, but worried I will look slightly 'out on the pull'.

Fleecy · 16/03/2010 22:12

ltec meant to say didn't fit the bill! Sorry about that!

plum love love love the bag

choogirl I think it looks a bit short for the rats - wouldn't cover the bum. And while I'm sure you have a lovely derriere, I'm not sure bum-ruching (sp?) does much for anyone.

Fleecy · 16/03/2010 22:14

Oh also, if I were off out, I'd dress for people in general, rather than my friends. Friends know me and won't judge me, whereas others will! Is that shamefully vain and superficial? Probably!

I do like to dress for my audience to a certain degree if I'm going to someone's house for example. But when I go out, I want to feel good.

bunnymother · 16/03/2010 22:24

Choo - agree w Fleecy on both points. Dress as you like, if your friend wants to dress up, she can. If she doesn't, doesn't mean you shouldn't. I enjoy seeing people wearing lovely clothes, regardless of what I am wearing myself.

CHOOGIRL · 16/03/2010 22:28

Thanks ladies.

Will wear my Rats with pride.

Anyone else struggling to get on My-Wardrobe tonight. Everything is so slooow

OK, these Rats then - would they suit a slightly pear shaped person? Size 10 on top/12 at the bottom? I am tall (5 ft 10)with reasonably toned legs (although my upper thighs and bottom are far from my favourite body parts...!)

Just wondering really. I do wear ordinary leggings (occasionally) and was looking at a change.

hellsbelles · 17/03/2010 09:07

choogirl - I love the top too but would always veer towards bum coverage with the rats

Interesting one on the dressing for friends/yourself. I have to say I would usually be the dressed down one in the past but now I make more of an effort. However I wouldn't go out bedecked in super designer if my friend was broke (does that make sense?)...I don't mean I would change my style - I just wouldn't want to be in over the top luxe and make them feel bad.

NY - they are quite flattering. And I love the idea of them...but that the moment they are just sitting in my wardrobe waiting to be worn.

vinauchocolat · 17/03/2010 09:41

choogirl, I have that top.. if you get a larger size it's quite long (or maybe I am quite short!)

romana I second what the ladies say, pucci dress and heels not so good. Bit Katie Price. I like the second dress you linked to though and think that would be great with heels, but a bit higher than the choos you linked to

re the dressing for friends thing, I used to stick out like a sore thumb when I went out with friends so consciously de-styled myself and ended up looking really really scruffy! Let's call it vintage nonchalence shall we.. Now I think it's nice if someone makes an effort, and as long as you don't sit there saying 'these are my new louboutins and this bag is by hermes and this scarf is a limited edition mcqueen one and this sold out in 2 mins in paris etc etc' then they really won't notice, they'll either like what you are wearing or they won't even think about it.

vinauchocolat · 17/03/2010 09:44

Plum good shopping trip I have never been to Bicester shopping village, but I have a relative who lives nearby who has just had a baby and really need to go shopping visit her!
