oh cute owl print HH - am loving owl stuff at the mo. Still pondering the necklaces from last night ..

Moneyspider · 31/03/2010 21:47

Yes, you would need a Jesus Jones album to go with that particular combination, Esher.

How about this plainer version from fat face?

bunjies · 31/03/2010 21:50

Ugh, shitty day here today but won't bore you all with details.

God Romana - what the f**k is going on? Remind me what field you're in again. I feel your pain though. I recently applied for a job I used to do at a more senior level and I still didn't get an interview .

Yummy dress grumpy but please don't wear it with a grey tee underneath .

Tracey - gorgeous dress, go for it. I can understand how it would really suit you (although I have no idea of what you look like in real life!!)

My quiz response was also Modernist Maven which I actually thought was quite close to the mark although in my defence I do not own a Parka!

Whi was it asking about online contact lenses? I got mine from here. They are unbranded but the same quality. Started by the guy who invented daily disposables apparently. They are great for me as I only wear them a couple of times a week so cost pence. I also bought my glasses here. Delivery took 4 weeks but they're cheap as chips so you can get a couple of pairs. In fact, I'm thinking of getting another pair as I'm bored with mine.

MrsJ - you should see the pictures on my fb account. There is a truly hideous one of me knitting and dh in slippers . To be honest I have a bit of a problem having my photo taken as I'm not very photogenic so usually find myself behind the camera.

I can further vouch for fleecy's stunningness. I hate you all, fb beauties .

Also am embarrassed to only have about 30 friends as opposed to all you lot with in excess of 300 .

bunjies · 31/03/2010 21:55

So who's going to start the new thread tomorrow?!

notyummy · 01/04/2010 09:29

Hi all

Been rubbish about posting since I returned from Disney and now feeling thoroughly left out! Let me join your facebook gang!! I am here and my profile includes some recent pics of me (trying!) to look stylish at Disney....

Felix - will add you!

I don't know how to add/request anyone else...

Fel1x · 01/04/2010 10:23

have added you too notyummy, you look fab at disneyland! looks like you had a great time. I am def going to take the DS's there in a couple of years I think.

DH's latest purchase arrived this morning. A family size tent with airbeds and sleeping bags! We are going to try out camping, which could be interesting!!! Only time I;ve ever camped in the past is at festivals when younger. Could be a very different experience with 2 pre schoolers!!

notyummy · 01/04/2010 10:31

oooh, camping! We are planning to take DD (3 .7) this year. Like you, main experiences have involved festivals previously - although DH and I are both military (ex in my case) and hence also have bad memories of being forced to build shelters in the pouring rain after yomping 20 miles with a huge rucksack! Because of that we have also flat refused camping as a 'main' holiday option - although have done self catering chalets and enjoyed that. The air con and shower makes all the difference.....

blossoming · 01/04/2010 10:35

Notyummy, have you any recommendations/tips for me re Disney? Am off on Sunday. TIA.

notyummy · 01/04/2010 11:01

Blossoming. Disney thoughts in a 'random stream of consciousness' stylee:

Food is mainly RUBBISH and hugely overpriced. You are not supposed to take stuff in but clearly lots of people do (although there are random bag seraches for security purposes on entry.) You can take bottles of water in and fill up at water fountains though. We found a couple of cafes on the Disney main street that do a 'meal deal' for 12 euros (big baguette/crips/cake and drink) were the best option. The 'fast food' cafes were GRIM. Nicest restaurant is easily the Blue Lagoon which is inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride (although has seperate entrance. Lovely fish - although not cheap. Worth booking. We also ate at the Staek House in the Village which was mainly good - but pudding was horrid. I left it (which is pretty much unknown for me....)

Height restrictions are strictly enforced so depending on age of your DCs there will be things they def can't do.

Little kids LOVE the Dumbo ride in the main Disney park, and the 'Flying Carpets over Agrabah' in the new Park. These load up really slowly and have no fast pass system so it is either worth getting there at opening tiem and heading straight there, or going there when one of the parades is on.

If you have little kids the 'Animaque' show in the new park is AMAZING. All the favourite characters with great songs and well staged. We all loved it!

For the grown ups, if you do scary rides, the Tower of Terror is awesome - as is the Rick and Roll Roller Coaster.

notyummy · 01/04/2010 11:03

at all the typos.

Errrr that will be 'Rock' and Roller Coaster.

Perhaps 'Rick' is what happens to your neck....?

blossoming · 01/04/2010 11:22

Thanks a million, really helpful tips. We're staying in Paris and going for the day. I def do not do scary rides. Have been before with schoolkids as a teacher and also to the Asterix park which I really liked. This time, dc1 is 5 and the baby is 5 months. He loves Toy Story and Tarzan. Dc1 I mean.

notyummy · 01/04/2010 11:28

Blossoming - you need to take DS to Frontierland where Woody does personal appearances! You get given a list of timings on entry showing the times when he will be there. DD got her picture taken with Sully from Monsters Inc and was so amazed/delighted that I nearly cried.

bodsmum · 01/04/2010 11:36

Have been trying to keep up with all the postings..so many lovely links..i really like your idea about making the pink frock one shoulder fleecy though i am not happy to show my own upper arms..a grisly sight

The stories of your losses are truly heartbreaking..i'm sure i'm not the only one on here who has huge admiration for how you ladies pick yourselves up and carry on after such terrible events.

hana glad the tip on hotmilk was handy..still waiting for my delivery..the bravissimo sizing v helpful.b.t.w..i keep thinking about the place you linked to for your birthday lunch..it looked yumalicious!

roman..i'm so cross on your behalf..are the interviewers insane or is this what all professionals have to look forward to if we dare to spend a little time at home with our dcs

re-the 3 children..i spent my whole pregnancy saying never again!never again!but as we left the hospital with dd2 i told dh i want a 3rd..don't think he's v impressed!though my dd1 keeps telling me i still have another baby to come as i still have a fat tummyand i keep thinking about how amazing you looked, ltec in your film debut just 2 weeks post birth..i look like i haven't slept for 10years and it has only been a week!

sorry way too many emoticons...

HappyHome · 01/04/2010 11:39

Hi there,
We took DS to Disneyland Paris for his 6th birthday and we had a great time. Sounds like you did too notyummy and I'll second what you have said about the food not being great.

Blossoming I don't know if you have been to DLP before but you can't help but be swept up by the magic of it all, we have given in and are braving the Florida one later in the year (and this is someone who alegedly cannot stand all things Disney!).

Camping is great fun however we have wimped out and are going caravanning to the Peak District today - at least we can keep dry!
now where did I put my Hunters......!

OllieWollieWoo · 01/04/2010 11:50

notyummy - you need to change your name - to yummyandthensome! (I peeked at your FB link!) Fel1x - your kids are adorable!

DolceeBanana · 01/04/2010 12:05

Laughably I too did the quiz and was 'rock chick revamped'...no,no,no,no....
So NOT me....So a load of old bollox then!

Anyway, FFarmer...thou speakest much sense on the classics thing, and Marsha, tracey...classics I love but there should be some 'edge' going on or one can look too, well, 'prissy'....., and it can be ageing....not that I am of course hung up about my age!!!!!!!

DolceeBanana · 01/04/2010 12:09

Bodsmum - congratulations, sorry missed your thread about babe no 3....well done. What did you have and how old are the others? We have 3 (3.5, 2.5 and 6 months!!!)

notyummy · 01/04/2010 12:47

OWW why thank you!

< although my current outfit of umbro shorts and sports bra is best not shared via a fcebook photo....I am 'working' from home; for that read faffing around feeling it is a Bank Holiday already and doing a bloody hard exercise DVD.>

Anyone got something stylish and glamorous planned for the Easter weekend that we can help style you for?

I only have playdates/birthday parties and what to live vicariously!
