Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

Liking the Littlewoods maxi Misswoowoo.

Not sure about the ones you have linked to bunjies - could have the possibility of adding bulk to a bottom half I fear (NOT something that I need - more boobs and less bum is my requirement!)

But then these are supposed to be for LTEC so I will wind my neck in and see if they suit her.

notyummy · 12/03/2010 17:51

mm - not surprised you are vexed!

Hope you have nice weekend though. Make sure you manage a nice massage/me time to restore equilibrium after cleaner/drunk dp episodes.

blossoming · 12/03/2010 17:57

Poor you monkeysmama, hope you have a lovely weekend.

Love the new title, although not sure whether I belong, even if I do know what they all mean now!

Would love a May meet up, but think a 4 hour journey is a bit far. Can you video, and link?
Can I join in with my iphone?
Very jealous indeed.

Romanarama, can you photo your outfits and put on your profile, so I can drool? Best of luck for the best job.

Am currently sourcing colourful clothing from the kettlewell catalogue.
Will leave now...

traceybath · 12/03/2010 18:19

MM - I think packing to go away is actually pretty stressful - i always get very short tempered.

Can you get an agency to do your cleaning - I use one and although a bit more expensive I like the fact there's a 'boss' to complain to. Although the two ladies who come to me are utterly fab.

Enjoy your weekend away - hope your deliveries arrive in time.

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 18:45

oh mm what a pain. Pour yourself a nice big glass of red and blast some Florence once once dd is off to bed. (also very tempted to fire my cleaner after she left, leaving a downstairs window wide open when I was not home...)

thanks for all the maxis girls!! And welcome MissWooWoo ... btw, MWW saying that she has had nothing to share 'til now, and others saying that they're not spending for a while .. I hope that this thread isn't going to depend on spending for its existence: let's just think of it as stream of fashion consciousness, just general look at this, I want this, I can't have this (but it might suit you) I am wearing this, I am clothes mad, me.

Deal?

also loving the new title Plum although I must hold my hand up and confess to owning none of the Hs mentioned. (yet - )

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 18:52

roman - can imagine you in some of these - just in case your working wardrobe isn't quite complete ...

notyummy · 12/03/2010 19:05

oooh ltec you very devil! I love this from your link:

prada

traceybath · 12/03/2010 19:12

More maxis

I like this top

Romanarama · 12/03/2010 19:38

shuddup will ya cakey [tired credit card emoticon]

eshermummy · 12/03/2010 20:23

Hello, sorry not been around much - was parents eve last night. Been looking at all of the links

LTEC - maxi options for you:

spenny but a print that would prob look amazing with your colouring, apologies if someone has already linked

this looks plain but I think it looks like it would be really nice on, not sure if the colours are zingy enough though

Meet-up - I would love to . Weekend maybe better for me too as school runs etc foreshorten my day ridiculously and I am a good 1-1.5 hrs from Greenwich. Am away the 2nd bank hol w/e though...

MM - I hate packing too - should really be sorting out what I've got/not got for me and the dd's as we are off next week but can't face it - doubtless I will be running around like a headless chicken buying suntan lotion etc in the 24 hours prior to departure...

Recent purchases - bought this but in a dark grey half price in the sale, am hoping will work with these which I already have for hols next week
Also, very naughtily splurged on this today (says "oatmeal" but is actually a nude colour) - am hoping with make some of the nude things I've bought recently all hang together

notyummy · 12/03/2010 20:42

Just been looking through the New Look promo magazine 'Most Wanted', and there is some seriously nice stuff coming in there over the next few weeks, so worth a rummage. Unfortunately can't find any links and most not in shops yet. LTEC there was a fab maxi in there, and some lovely sun dresses, few cool military style things - and LOADS of fierce (albeit cheap and not always leather!) glads.

eshermummy · 12/03/2010 20:44

oooh yes, I know what I meant to discuss with you guys.....River Island.....
I know Cakey famously said she had never knowingly bought anything from RI but you know it is a secret addiction of mine . I don't actually buy much but I loooove looking at the slightly slutty rock chick stuff they have and imagining I had the nerve to wear it

I can't link to things the site as it's one of those annoying flash ones but if you search for product numbers

587444 - american flag vest - when I described this to DH he was that I could contemplate something so muttonous and yet, and yet.......

585480 - I tried this on irl and this actually has great potential as a rats top, needs layering over another vest as sides transparent-ish but really not cheap looking at all. Size up though, think I would do 10 or poss even a 12 (normally 8)

The other thing I am currently musing over is a denim jacket - I tried on a nice cropped one the other day (in wear I think) but they didn't have my size. But then I fell slightly in love with this instead, but don't really want to spend that much so was thinking this might work. Am thinking over a maxi dress come summer with metallic glads and big sunnies.

Opinions please!!

GeorginaWorsley · 12/03/2010 21:40

Don't think I can do a maxi as only 5ft 3

reallygrumpy · 12/03/2010 21:41

Esher - I really like the shirt but I think something shorter might be better with a maxi. Have you tried Gap kids? A friend of mine who's a size 8 wanted quite a snug demin jacket and found one there.

And on another subject, do you think a parka would be too mutton? I likethis and this I need something I can wear to playgroup, the park etc.

eshermummy · 12/03/2010 21:47

GW - I'm only 5'3" too and I have a couple of maxis from last year and am looking to get one or two more
I just get mine shortened and wear with flats, the only thing I find is that I can't do the tiered styles as is too much fabric for my frame/height. Also, have to think carefully about those with prints esp those where the print detail is on the bottom as that's the bit that normally gets cut off!

Reallygrumpy - I agree, am not sure if the shirt is quite short enough, also is only available in a 10 and I think I'd be an 8 really to get a really fitted look. Will try GAP.

eshermummy · 12/03/2010 21:54

Grumpy - sorry, forgot to answer your parka Q - I don't think they are muttony. I prefer the first of your links.

I have been musing over some sort of parka style thing myself although would want it to have waterproof properties - saw this earlier which may go instore to investigate further.

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 21:58

oh esher ... that Nap Maxi is the one.

And about 3x more than I wanted to pay

Is dh back from NY yet???

reallygrumpy · 12/03/2010 22:04

Esher - thanks for the parka advice, think I'll order it. Would this work as your waterproof coat? Although it might be a bit heavy for the summer and it's £££ more than the one you'd found.

GeorginaWorsley · 12/03/2010 22:05

Thans esher
May be tempted by a cheap New Look one!

notyummy · 12/03/2010 22:06

Don't think parkas are muttony (hope not as I have one!) I also prefer the first one.

hellsbelles · 12/03/2010 22:23

I was going to link to that one for cake too! It's only a tiny bit more than those shorts you were going to buy - and you will look beautiful in it

Off to catch up - slightly squiffy though so may be a while

hellsbelles · 12/03/2010 22:35

2 glasses and wine and the links all become too confusing

I really am at that dress LTEC. I keep putting it in my basket and then remembering there is no way on earth my horrid chest could carry it off. Can you at least try it.

This arrived (it was 25% cheaper with the magic carcifio code). I love the colour (for some reason olive is a good colour on me) and the shoulders...but there is a LOT of material going on. will get DH's opinion t/m.

Did I say that the theatre was wonderful but I wouldn't advise wearing a jumper dress to it...fecking boiling.

And what's all this about a meet up? Where and when? I doubt I could handle the sartorial (sp?) pressure though!

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 22:44

okay .. don't laugh but I am going to have a bash at blogging

can you all become my W&A followers please??

I've only just set it up tonight, much tinkering to be done..

Going back to now look at links. And join hells in a wine

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 23:08

esher I'm not sure I get the RI website - entering numbers into the search box seemed to bring up the same page but I'm pretty sure I saw the American flag tee and have to say, yeehaw, I love it.

Definitely think a kids' denim jacket is the way to go. Shirt not structured enough iyswim? Also too long

Parka?? Mutton? good grief, no!! You should see my Diesel parka/ anorak - trying to knock 16 years off, moi? agree that the first one is the nicer of the two, grumpy

glad you had a good time at the theatre hells - now can you please stop going out and making me ? Report back on the jacket - I think the amount of fabric would irritate me (echoes of my DKNY Cozy struggles) - how do you plan to wear it?

Ohhhh that maxi dress. Will see how my RL shopping trip goes tomorrow and then decide.

MM hope all okay
hana hope F calmer today and you not so exhausted.
