Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
traceybath · 15/03/2010 18:37

I do love jennifer's clothes too - she's also managing to age well without going pillow faced.

Romanarama · 15/03/2010 18:38

Haven't caught up, but advice please!!

So I love the sportmax suit. The Choos are a bit tight and need to go back for a 1/2 size up, but.... the soles are ever so slightly scuffed. It wouldn't bother me at all if I was keeping them, but I'm concerned they're going to be weird at nap about the return. Anyone got any experience???

blossoming · 15/03/2010 18:41

I think you should contact them straight away and tell them. Fgs, those shoes cost a fortune, and should be pristine. That is the whole point of buying new choos.
I ordered a dress from anglomania from my wardrobe, and it looked crap on, but it also smelt of stale cigarettes. UGH!
I would have kicked up such a fuss if they hadn't taken it back.

LetThemEatCake · 15/03/2010 18:47

Roman Yes, had a situation last year ... Choos as well, arrived with a scratch (high mirror surface) ... shoes were over £400 so contacted immed and said WTF?? they got me to send photos and very readily gave me a large discount.

Contact them straightaway!!!

Romanarama · 15/03/2010 19:05

I sent them a mail saying that they arrived with slightly scuffed soles. It wouldn't actually have bothered me at all if I was keeping them - it's far less than you would get the very first time you stepped out of the front door. Just look as though they've been tried on once in a shoe shop. I just want to swap them for a 1/2 size up without them making a big fuss.

hellsbelles · 15/03/2010 19:27

Roman - it's not just my feet with Choos then! I always need to go up a bit in size with them.

On the damage thing - I had the same thing happen with something I bought from NAP and I told them straight away - I had no problem getting the refund.

Cake - I don't mind but I'm not telling him! Blossoming - don't worry he was only being nosey. He won't do it again.

Tracey - I am not going to encourage him by posting. His head will get too big if he gets any nice feedback . He's already asked me if I posted.

OWW - she does usually get it right doesn' she? And I agree that she is one that is actually ageing well.

O.k...talk me out of these. I know how bad I am on shoes/boots. But I tried these on with my grey skinnies and I think they looked good. I would have bought them but my normal size was tight and they didn't have the bigger size in the shop.

blossoming · 15/03/2010 20:31

Hells, it's the thought that my dh might be secretly reading and finding out what I really think of my ILs, how much I spend, which of his gifts I've ebayed, that I've got choos I've never worn...makes me want to erase all my posts!

Romanarama · 15/03/2010 20:37

hells they said on the site that they come up big, which is nonsense.

I rather like those biker boots actually. Sorry.

Now must scroll up and read the story about your dh!

(Btw am reading in my new CK nightie from nap which is lovely)

hellsbelles · 15/03/2010 20:44

don't start doing 'reading thread in my nightie' Roman - DH will start lurking again

I can't believe they said that about the choos...I have always found they pinch and have to go up a full size.

You are not helping with the boots

Blossoming - don't worry. You never know - if he did lurk you may get some perfect presents - as he'll know what you like from your links

LetThemEatCake · 15/03/2010 20:53

ha! my dh did some lurking a while back when there was much excitement over Vaseline Rosy Lips. I got 2 pots of the stuff from dc3 for my bday!!

he also lurked once and took a vehement dislike to someone and the way they were talking about their attitude to Xmas pressies from their dh (no one on this thread). I think "F*cking grow up you selfish cow" was among one of the choicer phrases he uttered at said MNer

Romanarama · 15/03/2010 20:54

My ds's think the Ash hi-tops are totally cool! They're too small and going back though, though no free returns if you've used a discount code so I'll try to pop them into the post office when I'm in the UK on Thursday.

D'you think one can ask nap to email one's wishlist to dh? That would improve birthdays/xmas no end

traceybath · 15/03/2010 20:57

Hells - I too like those boots. Friend has some similar ones which she wears with skinnies and they look very nice.

Roman - annoying about choos but good news on suit.

MM - hope you've had a lovely time in Poole.

Esher - have a fab holiday and hope you're feeling super groomed after all your maintenance this morning.

LTEC - when do your new clogs arrive - they do look so lovely.

Blossoming - has the kettlewell dress arrived yet - it looked a gorgeous colour.

LetThemEatCake · 15/03/2010 21:07

busily wrapping ebay parcels which is why I keep annoyingly ducking in

tracey I hope sleep goes better tonight - I have a technique if you;re interested. Sort of made it up as i went along in desperation when ds1 was 6 mths .. worked and has worked for other friends since?

MarshaBrady · 15/03/2010 21:11

Oh yes those clogs. I loved those ones, bravo!

Dh doesn't lurk it has taken him two years to stop muttering bloody mumsnet when he sees me on here. He used to really hate it. Now it's a mild dislike

I do like those shoes too Hells.

Roman your interview must be soon?

Got to sleep am missing Glee but ds2 is asleep and need to make most of it.

blossoming · 15/03/2010 21:23

Traceybath, I've had a dispatch email so hopefully dress will arrive tomorrow. Dh is at work tomorrow so will have lots of time to try it on with a camisole I also bought and find my silver choo sandals to go with.
On the other hand my baby girl has learnt to turn over then screaming to be turned back again. Over and over again! I fear my long days listing and ol shopping are about to come to an end!

Romanarama · 15/03/2010 21:27

My dh doesn't know about mumsnet (so far as I know anyway!).

I have a mock interview tomorrow - some potential colleagues are actually being very helpful with coaching and the like. The real thing is Thursday, so busy trying to think myself into work mode.

Actually, tbh not that busy - quite busy thinking about Ash high tops too. Hmm. Am closing this window now to concentrate.

hellsbelles · 15/03/2010 21:32

you lot are such enablers . those boots are pretty good aren't they.

Cake stop wrapping ebay stuff and get back to us please.

Prior to his one time lurk - DH did once peer over my shoulder when I was MN'ing and got really upset to see 'DH' as an abbreviation. He assumed it meant 'dickhead'

I just 'shopped from my wardrobe' and found an alice temperley waffle jumper I bought just before getting pregnant...that I never got to wear (norkage overload) and now it's perfect (norks have shrunk a bit) and goes with my new boots. Hurrah

LetThemEatCake · 15/03/2010 22:10

Here I am. Hells I can't comment on the boots as I am no longer acknowledging the existence of such things, such is my determination that spring will arrive in the next few days. But I am sure you look fab in them and your re-discovered sweater.

All of my shorts arrived today and are all going back

these in black - cheap and nasty with a horrible waistband

these in brown really cacky colour in RL

and these - the bows add unnecessary (on me) width

was all set to sulk until I realised - what's the hurry? why not wait until my legs are browner and leaner and until it is actually warm? it's not like the world is going to run out of shorts!!

LetThemEatCake · 15/03/2010 22:13

MissWooWoo I too love pink but having just offed a Cozy, I am here to tell you that that cardi would annoy the bejesus out of me

hellsbelles · 15/03/2010 22:19

umm - good point. Boots = winter. But they are ankle boots (as are the other boots I that I just bought - ahem - I think possible boot overload).

Sometimes long brown legs and boots can be fine no? (now I just need to grow my legs and get them brown )

I can't believe I'm actually hoping it'll be slightly chilly so I can wear my newly discovered outfit t/m I realise that is really really bad.

Shorts - glad those shorts are going back...they don't look like the perfect pair.

LetThemEatCake · 15/03/2010 22:25

the reality is that it is still going to be chilly for another 6 weeks or so!!!

and I am just grumpy about that. But my grumpiness should not bring down your A&W excitement! sorry . They are lovely boots.

I love the pink dress you tried on the w/e. And while I love that VIX maxi, I think it's too glam for my purposes (ie day dress with dcs around)

hellsbelles · 15/03/2010 22:28

I didn't get the pink dress though. The price didn't match the style. hippy beach style dress should not cost £300 really should it?

There will be lots of maxi's. We'll have fun finding them.

Night all.

Romanarama · 16/03/2010 06:55

Sorry hells but pmsl at 'dick head'

Long brown legs with boots can look a bit calamity Jane imvho. But why do people in places like the UK keep going on about spring and summer as though it might be hot? There are usually plenty of days in July when you'd be happy in skinnies and ankle boots. (Not gloating as live in Belgium!)

LetThemEatCake · 16/03/2010 07:47

roman hope mock interview goes well today.

monkeysmama · 16/03/2010 08:29

Hey girls

Our Hunter bedecked family had a wonderful weekend in Poole. Brilliant sunshine, beautiful hotel, good food and lots of rolling around on the beach.

I may need talking out of these? Are the vile? I quite like them but acknowledge that I sometimes like things that aren't really very nice.

When a description for jeans say they have a roll up hem does it mean they have to be worn rolled up? Like these iyswim. I want some more boyfriend jeans but don't want to spend a fortune and want to be able to wear normally as well as rolled up.

Will read back all posts now. Hope you all enjoyed Sunday.
