Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 13/03/2010 23:56

I love those Fleecy, good find!

Dh is saying he wants to spoil me for tomorrow with an NaP purchase. Having two dc is having a good effect on my mothering skills . (We're not usually so decadent but hey I don't mind).

Got the Ocado booked for 9am to bring fresh croissants (although prob not great from supermarket rather than deli) and will have the Times. Good stuff.

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2010 00:15

Yes, those Choos are heaven. And available in my size....

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2010 00:25

My size too, so many things on my list now.

I like your blog ltec will try and add me to it tomoz when I figure out how.

I am so awake! Damn that coffee.

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2010 00:42

oh no! I just assumed you were up with ds2. I'm feeding ds2 and praying it'll do him til 7... I'm tired!!

Hope sleep finds you soon

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2010 00:50

Now i'm feeding, which means I just got tired. Helpful ds2.

traceybath · 14/03/2010 07:10

Happy Mothers day all!

Apuski - hello - love that jacket and love the dress they're showing it with in the picture.

Rage - I love that white Alberta dress and may order it.

Ollie - love the white h&m dress - thank you so much for thinking of me - I'll be hotfooting it to h&m next week to try on.

As an aside has anyone noticed just how much shops vary depedning on their location. In Bath we do tend to get nicely laid out stores but h&m in bristol is hideous.

Esher - went into river island yesterday - I liked quite a lof of stuff but didn't have time to try on. The gap kids jacket is 3/4 lenght sleeves and the downside is the buttons are pretend and its actually poppers (to save their little fingers) but for less than £20 I decided I could live with that.

Matilda - lovely purchases.

Fleecy - I love those Choos and the bag they're with.

Am actually off to bicester on wednesday as meeting sister there - doubt they'll be in the outlet shop but worth a look.

LTEC - love the see by chloe dress and off to read your blog in a minute.

Have had lovely morning so far and yes I know its still early. Lovely silver bracelet and crafty stuff ds1 had made me. In his card he drew me as a green eyed blonde - very attractive but not like me .

Bought a nude coloured t-shirt in new look yesterday - £4! But really want that Alberta dress and Choo clogs now . . .

DD spent her first night in her own room - I was up to feed her 4 times - surely she should be feeding less at nearly 8 months - surely . . .

matildamum · 14/03/2010 07:45

Good morning mummies . Hope you are all in bed with your croissants and sunday papers.

I've started the day well being covered in sick by my poorly 8 month DS . However was informed by my 3 year old DD last night that she had 'shhh secret' flowers and bracelet for me, so know I've got those to look forward to when she wakes up! (well done Granny)

Saw the times of your posts LTEC and Marsha - those night feeds aren't much fun are they? I've been really lucky with 8 month DS. He hasn't been fed at night since about 5 months. Probably the fact that he's the size of a 15 month old helps. Plenty of fat reserves to draw on!

LTEC - why oh why did you have to link to that VW dress? I WANT ONE (stamps feet) but is soo much £££ to spend on what's effectively a t-shirt dress isn't it...? (seeking someone to jump in with justification) I liked the Alice dress but had dismissed based on fact it's too short.

Yes I am fellow big foot. Not quite up there with you at size 8, but size 6.5-7. Being tall (I'm guessing you are) means we need big feet to stop us falling over right?!

Tracey - yes I have definitely noticed that about H&M. In the Southampton store it's impossible to find anything amongst the chaos, but my local store on Isle of Wight (gives away how much of a country bumpkin I am) is a dream to shop in. Shopping over here is very limited, thank heavens for online.

Going back to catch up with rest of links.

Barbabelle · 14/03/2010 08:19

Toast sandals ordered - got old gold instead of the tan. Had an early night last night with the toast catalogue and Vogue magazine. The alexas looked so much prettier in the gold in the photos. matildasmum I'll report back as soon as they arrive.

Am inspired by a Bella Freud article in Vogue on 'casual glamour'. I want to be 'dazzlingly glamorous but subtly low key' when I grow up. Also loving a Phoebe Philo for Celine outfit on p225. Black cigarette pants, amazing green suede court shoes with subtle platform and belted ostrich feather-fronted tunic. Sorry I can't link.

Perpetual and LTEC - I love Plumo. Everything I've bought from there over the past few years has been lovely. Got a few floaty tops and lots of jewellery. Most recent buy was some over-sized silk beads that I got in the sales. I love them. Again apologise for lack of link. I'll try harder next time.

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2010 08:52

Morning! Having a look on NAP to see what I might like. I love those Choo wedges, and still bedazzled by the Carven pumps. But will I wear them?

I find that I buy beautiful shoes and then wear my less high ones, as I walk to school everyday. I'm so tall with heels that to hold the handles of the buggy my posture changes and not as comfy. But I do so want to wear some wedges for long legs.

(Ds2 was very helpful last night, bf makes me sleepy, and counteracted the caffeine! Night feeds aren't too bad as he is right next to me. But he does get a blocked nose when on his back at night which wakes him up sometimes poor sausage).

reallygrumpy · 14/03/2010 08:57

DH didn't buy my starfish, instead he bought me this because he thought it was funny.

Am now sulking!

notyummy · 14/03/2010 08:59

Happy Mothers Day all! You were busy last night - I take a break to lie on the couch with DH and watch some skyplussed Eddie Izzard heroics (43 marathons - puts my 20 odd miles a week into perspective!!) and get back and I can't keep up with all the links.

LTEC Damn you!! I love that VW stripey dress - and given the model is a 12, it could actually suit a 5 ft 10 size 10/12 me! I will mull it over.

My exciting news is that, inspired by this thread, I had a big wardrove sort out yesterday. I am ebaying 3 dresses and a top, and a few other things will be going to the charity shop. My wardrobe is now an easily accessible, organised set of work suits/workskirts/work trousers/work jackets/work dresses/casual tops etc etc

Am getting rid of some nice dresses, inc cheapy (yet flattering) wrap dress which I have worn once, and a Monsoon green silk Helena Christensen dress (worn about 3 times.) Sounds like I am trying to sell them to you....but I'm not, honest!

Hope you enjoy your respective breakfasts in bed/lunches out/bunches of flowers. I have a nice lunch to look forward to. Cheers all.

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2010 09:08

Oh no reallygrumpy not good!

For £6 he could have bought you Self Service magazine which is loads more interesting to look at!

bodsmum · 14/03/2010 09:52

Hi and hope all you wonderful mums get to put your feet up today..

bunjies · 14/03/2010 10:33

Happy Mothers Day to you all. Unfortunately they don't celebrate it over here until 30 May so it has passed dh us by.

Anyway, going to try the courgette cupcakes today so at least I'll have something nice!

Hi to the delurkers. I am in love with that leather jacket you posted to Apuski but I know the high collar and pockets on the front would not complement my boobage.

Fleecy · 14/03/2010 14:29

bodsmum I use this

There are different ones for different hair colours. I use the yellow one. It has a tropical scent apparently but it's not a brilliant smell. Does the job though! You can get it from Boots, supermarkets etc in the styling products aisle.

Romanarama · 14/03/2010 16:06

bodsmum I used AMEX25

bodsmum · 14/03/2010 16:37

Thanks for the tip fleecy..will definitely have a try(though voice in my head keeps singing 'shake and vac'[used for sprinkling on to carpets to clean with dodgy airfreshner smell] advert themetune..am sure you are far too young to remember it!)

romanarama..brilliant!what a great discount..hope you get good karma back at your next interview for this S and B good deed

blossoming · 14/03/2010 18:00

Evening all

Phew, that's better. Have been in Spanx ALL weekend as my brother's impossibly beautiful, thin, 20 something girlfriend was visiting my parents (have I mentioned they live next door?)
The pressure!!

However, she did go 'wow' when she saw my new hair and clothes which made my late 30s day . Thanks W&A ladies.

Bereavement is a strange old thing. Mostly I am fine but when it hits me, it comes from nowhere, like a ton of bricks, like this morning, highly pubicly, in a chapel full of people. Poor dc1.

Two things, I love a good wrap dress, and I just had my colours done, so have ordered this in the cool raspberry print to try on for the christening. I'm hoping that the christening and dh's 40th will be 2 different occasions, so I can still purchase the dvf jamila. However I do need to sell those choo boots before I'll go there, and only one watcher, so I'm not hopeful.
If the wrap dress is any good, as it's not that expensive, I can splash out on shoes. Yeah!!

LTEC, I think I've become a follower of your blog, but failed to upload a photo. Will try again.

Also drank too much wine at lunch, and have a slight hangover. Dh's gift , iphone cover in cerulean from smythson, strange I can't find it to link to, is gorgeous.

Right, bath and bedtime.

OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2010 18:57

Happy Mothers Day W&A's - not MD here either bunjies but still had a lovely day. Playdate with some friends in a big wood - kids built dens with sticks, played being pirates and went hunting for dinosaurs etc (that does sound a bit 'famous five with lashings of custard' like but DSs played really well with friends kids whilst us parents sat on a big log and scoffed tea cakes and generally put the world to rights!)

Had a look at the lastest stuff on the Next website. Know its not generally a S&B favourite but they did seem to have shed loads of maxi dresses in different colours and styles. Not my colour but thought this may suit someone??? here Pic on model looks far better.

Would like some views on this jacket please. Am after a casual throw it on for the school run type thing to wear with jeans & converse - when it warms up of course! Wish it had a pick with the zip undone - thats the trouble with those type of zips! Views please! here

blossoming · 14/03/2010 19:06

Hi OWW, a double breasted jacket is awkward if you want to wear it open. Just a thought...

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2010 19:11

super quickly - doubt esher will check in tonight but if so - HAPPY HOLS, hope you have a wonderful time, warm weather and a style solution for everything from breakfast buffet to group charades

blossoming was thinking of you and all other mothers who have experienced the loss of LOs today. Big hugs to you.

eshermummy · 14/03/2010 20:00

Am not supposed to be here, am supposed to be making lists, sorting clothes, packing etc......am off to do all that in a min
We don't actually fly till Wednesday morning so still got a couple of days to sort stuff. Got lady coming tomorrow am to do waxing, mani, pedi, brows and eyelash tint in readiness, feeling v smug that had foresight to book appointment weeks ago. Then I just need to do my boots run for lotions and potions, meds for the dd's etc and I may try and squeeze in a quick trip to Boden to pick up a few bits for the dd's as they have outgrown quite a lot of last summer's gear.

Blossoming - sorry you felt overwhelmed at this morning's service, hope you enjoyed the rest of your mother's day. Loving the idea of a smythson iphone cover - have never seen one so off to google.

OWW - not mad keen on the grey jacket tbh - is a bit too much going on but love that green maxi you linked to although it does look VERY low cut on the manniquin. Am wondering if they would deliver by Tuesday if I ordered tonight........

Fleecy - I love those Choo clogs, they are wonderful.

Any opinions on this parka btw - got a catalogue through post and it caught my eye.

Happy mother's day all !!!

Romanarama · 14/03/2010 20:27

I didn't even know it was Mothers' Day - I don't think it can be over here. Hope not anyway, or I really should have called my mum .

blossoming · 14/03/2010 20:34

Thanks Esher.
I've been meaning to link you this coat for ages, but keep forgetting. I bought it recently, and I like you, spend a lot of time standing outside school gates in the rain. However, I've just started wearing it with a warm scarf, but we haven't had any rain recently, so can't vouch for it.
But it does have a hood, and it is stylish, which is a holy grail on MN isn't it?

I followed the westsuit thread too, but plumped for this one. I'm thinking of ebaying my north face jacket!

Ooh, just seen your link, and they're quite similar. Mine is shiny though. I've had a joules parka before, but joules is really popular round here, much more so than m&s and boden, so I tend to avoid now.

eshermummy · 14/03/2010 20:49

Blossoming - Joules v popular here too which puts me off a little. I like that M&S one - tried something v similar in Monsoon yest - was v nice and such a bargain I def would have bought but they didn't have my size left .
Only thing I like about the joules one is that it comes in taupe rather than navy although I do already have a short (waist length) beige rain jacket thing in beige so maybe navy would be more sensible........
