Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2010 20:55

You are right Esher - it needs the frills or the buttons but not both!

Re maxi's - ring and ask re dress coming on time. They do deliver overseas now so maybe they would send it to where you are on holiday????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I liked this coral one - says its tie dye but I can't see where and only 18 pounds! here

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2010 21:39

OWW I love that maxi and think I might be able to wear that colour ... also very keen on that price ... I love the Vix one so much but am hesitant to spend so much .. still umming and aaahing..

have had lovely day .. cards from each of the dcs, plus a jewellery box that dd made for me at nursery (an empty box with paint and glitter) and a lovely kaftany thing from Zara, very soft, almost sheer cotton in washed-out blue and white .. I thought dh was taking a long time to pay the parking y'day!! Also a rather fab tee with a warhol-ish Blondie print in b&w but not sure if keeping as neckline necessitates top underneath (annoying) and it's slim and longish, so constant waistband (not waistline!!) issues.

Also late anniversary present (yet to arrive) of Choo clogs Wooden, as per tradition, but far more acceptably priced than the £635 Kors ones.

Had dh's uncle and his (male) partner over for lunch today, had a really good time and dressed in straight leg jeans, 3/4 sleeve Breton top, red wedges, and seahorse necklace. Conservo but right for the company and felt positively spring- like!

typing one handed and awkwardly so will return later. DH watching tedious solar system thing and I am waiting for 24!!

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2010 21:52

OWW I have a red Diesel parka with a diagonal zip like that and it needs to be worn done up or else looks rubbish

hellsbelles · 14/03/2010 22:01

omg - I just did a huge long post - wonderfully witty and full of perfect links for each and every one of you ) and it didn't work.

That has stressed me out beyond belief so I will redo it t/m.

But dropping in to say happy mothers day.

Night all

OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2010 22:06

Thats the thing LTEC - I do the school run on my bike with both DSs on it - one on the front and one on the back (how Dutch!) - start off all layered up and by the time I get to school 10 mins later, I have shed layers as in hot sweat mode! Jacket with diagonal zip undone - along with red sweaty face would just look wrong!

Re coral dress - would be a good colour for you - and possibly your new choos???? (your DH as v good taste in pressies!!!) Buy it - use the cost per wear argument to justify!!!! Sorted!

OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2010 22:08

Calling Hanaflower - Layla dress update please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2010 22:12

Great day here. Dcs have been wonderful (ds1 made a present and wrote a book with pictures! and ds2 was a chubby yummy baby). Dh been brill and done loads of stuff. I want to get something from NaP as offered, but nothing is really grabbing me at the moment

Which is always the way, but I want it to be perfect not close enough. So will watch the new ins for next couple of weeks.

Fleecy · 14/03/2010 22:35

Congratulations on the Choos Ltec bodsmum I wish I were too young - but sadly, I do remember the shake 'n' vac! Put the freshness back, right?

Happy Mother's Day all, night!

hana - I like the colour of the layla dress on you. I dragged DH to RL shops on Friday to get his opinion on it in taupe and he said 'it looks like you're off to a posh toga party but it looks quite nice'. I think maybe it's a dress that men just don't get, actually, maybe it's just my DH (who's still in the dog house)...

LTEC - love the shoes!

florenceuk · 14/03/2010 23:16

A quick opinion ladies - saw this today in navy here in a pale grey - what do you think? It comes in some fairly lurid colours (bright green, purple, navy) the grey is very pale. This is nice too: pink orla kiely

My sale 7FAM jeans arrived here and are nicer than they look here (high waist bootcut - but nobody will ever see my waist!) BUT they have crystals on the back! Is this too bling for Wimbledon???

traceybath · 15/03/2010 05:58

Hana - lovely colour on you but agree dress doesn't show off your figure enough.

Florence - like the MJ bag. Are the crystals very visible? This is a nice grey bag too

LTEC - v envious of your clogs - they are gorgeous.

Well my day started well yesterday but got worse as DH manic with work and I didn't realise so constantly irritation on both sides really. Oh well, all sorted now . DS1 was particularly brilliant though and had really wanted to get me a diamond ring .

I am so tired though - Bea has gone into her own room so am up and down constantly.

MarshaBrady · 15/03/2010 06:59

Ltec I can't remember what your clogs look like.. ? Was the link a while back

(morning TraceyB!)

OllieWollieWoo · 15/03/2010 07:28

Morning all.

Hanaflower - I too think the dress is a fab colour on you - and liked it on from the back!!!! The comment re the raw edging is just the sort of thing my DH would say too! What size did you get? May be tempted to buy it off you if you are thinking of selling - but think I may suffer from the same issues as you re colour/walking/DH screwing nose up etc???

florenceuk - I like the OK bag best - but am biased cos have always liked her stuff - in moderation!

LTEC spied these on the Next website and thought of you and your fondness of orange here and here

notyummy · 15/03/2010 08:39

Morning all! LTEC I also like the clogs. May contemplate something similar for myself, however DH is wary of anything that (a) makes me taller than him (which is nearly all heels!) and (b) wooden things that look mid 70s hippish. Like Hana's DH and her dress - there are certain things mine just does not get.

He did us out for a LOVELY surpriselunch here.

We have been before and it is formal enough to feel special, but relaxed enough that they can cope with a toddler - there were loads of families there for Mothers Day, but not many with little children, so DD was made a fuss of. I also received pressies - not as glamorous as some but v thoughtful! Got a set of weights as the only ones I had were so heavy that I couldn't do my new DVD without keeling over halfway through! Also got a Starbucks card loaded with credit to allow me to coffee away at work for weeks for free.

Still loving the Viv Westwood stripey dress. Will continue coveting....however we have 4 holidays of varying lengths booked this year so far, and a new bathroom and car - and all of this by the end of planned by the end of August! May have to be more wise than avid.....

Finally, we are off to Eurodisney next week. Any thoughts on how to look layered, with comfortable footwear....yet incredibly stylish?? Any help gratefully received!

bunnymother · 15/03/2010 09:06

Quick one from me. Hana - am I missing something?? I thought the colour was gorgeous on you. And, as far as I could tell, the shape looked good, too.

Will post properly soon...

Fleecy · 15/03/2010 09:28

hana I think the dress looks lovely. But the thing is, if you don't feel fabulous in it then there's no point keeping it.

PlumSykes · 15/03/2010 09:45

Morning all,

Feel like I've been MIA this last week, although I have been popping in and reading, just not had much time for posting. Was DH's 40th bday on Thurs, so had lots of present/celebration action to deal with, and have been just generally quite frazzled.

However, am here now!

TheFendi coat came last week, and ladies, it is a no-go. It is, quite possibly, the most beautiful thing I've ever tried on, but it has the weirded sleeves. They are cut to create a vast balloon-y puff at the shoulder, which make me look like I'm all padded up and ready to play American Football. I think that perhaps I am just too short to carry it off. On one of you talls it would prob look cool, on me it just looks like I'm drowning in Fendi. A fabulous way to go, to be sure, but I'm not quite done here yet.

Did a couple of High Street Sweeps last week, to get something to wear for DH's birthday, and also to use the Gap voucher. Picked up some fab really thin denim skinnies plus bits for the DCs in Gap, and 4 dresses in Zara, all of which need to go back. Ho-hum.

Ended up wearing a real old fave to go out, but everything looks so different with my new crop, that even wearing reliable pieces is a bit of a minefield.

Am off to Bicester tomorrow (with spending money for my birthday next month-I feel about 16!), so hopefully will pick up some choice items.

Notyummy, I saw a thread recently about what to wear to Eurodisney and I think it was Carciofi who made useful points re cold weather dressing. If you scroll through the s&b threads you may find it.
I'm also off to eurodisney in three weeks and am about to give the clothing issue serious thought.

MissWooWoo · 15/03/2010 10:45

morning all

dd has been very poorly so I've not had time to peruse all of the lovely links yet but now coveting a buttery soft leather too

Would you like to see my £25 ebay bargain that arrived this morning? Not quite the hi-tops I have been lusting after but a good start and barely worn!

Also had a delivery from Next which I was expecting to send back but am keeping it all as suprisingly this bikini is holding everything in place and these sandals are very pretty

Currently lusing after this cardigan and despite colour (love a lurid pink) am telling myself it will be an investment buy that I will be wearing for years to come ... what do you think?

PlumSykes · 15/03/2010 10:53

Am on the hunt for everyday glads.

Yours thoughts, please, on these and these

I like the second pair PlumSykes but I'm not really one for studs

looks like a nice soft leather hanaflower, particularly like that it's dark grey - so much nicer than black for a more femine biker style imo

yes, talk me out of the lurid cardi please ...

GeorginaWorsley · 15/03/2010 12:13

I like the cardi misswoo
Had a lovely day yesterday, chocolates, flowers, scarf, then out for lunch with DH,youngest 3 DCs and my parents. Was a surprise for my mum,she didn't expect us to be there, she was overcome!.
