Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 09:38

oooh thanks spider - nice buy plum - I love this but not avail in my size

choo i'm going to say no to the hasbeens for dd but only because I can't bear little girls dressed in 'fashion' items

Moneyspider · 24/03/2010 09:46

Well done, Plum. Was inspired to give T K Maxx another bash and got excellent denim jacket there for £29.99- much nicer in RL.

Also v. bright Moschino scarf which am a little concerned has bmi baby-type logo in the middle (y'know, little Mr Men type chap)...have I paid £20 for cabin crew uniform? Can't seem to find it anywhere online....

Moneyspider · 24/03/2010 09:59

I love that LTEC (and it's in my size), but it's so dank and grey oop north today, I can't face buying it!

blossoming · 24/03/2010 10:08

Morning, gosh we're starting early today!
Wisely though of course.

Have regretted not buying these amazing jeggings in indigo since I left them behind in the Marble Arch store and then they were out of stock.

After buying this trench as a sightseeing coat for Paris, decided I needed the jeggings underneath tucked into flat riding boot type things.

Anyway, joy of joys, they're back in stock and have ordered.

Monkeysmama, I was sorry to hear of your bereavement.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 10:10

Hello everyone. Good to see so many new faces and have I missed some bitchiness?!

I've missed an entire thread now because I have been trying to curb my mn addiction (and was succeeding) but this morning DD is in nursery for her second day (sob sob) so I am back with a vengeance

I am so in love with my new Ash high tops but have a serious question..

I have taken to leaving the top buckles undone - does this make me look cool or lazy?

Moneyspider · 24/03/2010 10:24

Blossoming- just what I'm looking for. How tall are you? I'm 5ft4 so they may be a bit long. And did you take a size smaller as one reviewer suggests?

blossoming · 24/03/2010 10:35

I'm 5'7 and there was ruching at the bottom if I remember correctly. Sadly I did not need to size down. HTH moneyspider.
Good to have you back mrsj.

dexter73 · 24/03/2010 12:02

blossoming - you are a total star! Whilst looking at your link for your trench coat I spotted this jacket which is exactly what I have been after for ages, and is half price! It must be my lucky shopping day today !

blossoming · 24/03/2010 12:48

Happy to help dexter.

On the same note, the evelyn ponteroma dress that I linked to for Romanarama, perfect for interviews and serious occasions is also on sale.

But don't get me started on why Phase Eight can't put the colour of the garment on the website. It comes in black and grey.

I wonder how OWW is getting on with her cake decorating. Hope the party's great, and you can relax with adult drinks later.

blossoming · 24/03/2010 13:13

LTEC, has anyone else linked you to the elizabeth and james navy blazer?

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 14:36

oooh yes vin linked to it y'day - it's lovely but too exxy and polyester to boot!! Plus 3/4 sleeves grrrrr ... at that price needs to have a touch more longevity about it, I am perfectly capable of pushing up my own sleeves ta MK and A!!!

anyhoo, rant over .. you know I've been looking for a maxi for ages ... what a shame this one doesn't have a bit more ooomph about it.

good news on your jeggings! and on your jacket dexter.

Glad you're back mrsj we missed you. Am wearing my Ash high tops today, aren't they marvellous?

Fel1x · 24/03/2010 14:44

hello, lurker and very occasional poster here
have you seen this maxi LTEC? I love the orange colour and would look great with glads... bargain too

dexter73 · 24/03/2010 14:55

3/4 sleeves on a jacket really annoys me!

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 14:56

this is what I want but not so expensive!!

that pic is pretty much how I want to wear it, too.

dexter73 · 24/03/2010 15:17

Could you not view it as a classic wardrobe staple that you will wear for years to come and is therefore really quite cheap?!

dexter73 · 24/03/2010 15:20

I looked at this one yesterday but the sleeves are 3/4....

ApuskiDusky · 24/03/2010 15:23

LTEC, found a couple of navy blazers that might be worth a look:

this might be too slim fit

more casual?

the closest to the one you linked to

Fleecy · 24/03/2010 15:47

LTEC that's pretty much how I've worn mine - useful for getting some wear out of spring stuff! Have also found it works with ripped skinnies and ballet flats.

Romanarama · 24/03/2010 15:58

I like 3/4 sleeves. Why don't you like them?

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 16:01

is it just me or does that IO one look a bit shapeless?

That Uniqlo one looks promising ... a bit about the complete absence of even just one single button though

ApuskiDusky · 24/03/2010 16:17

I agree about the IO one- definitely 'boyfriend' style!

Plus

I like this one

and cheap but stripey and why show it with a long black jumper underneath!!

blossoming · 24/03/2010 16:33

LTEC, love that APC one, and the styling. I think NAP are getting the styling spot on this year.
That look would be fantastic, if I was a single girl about town in my 20s I think.

Have just walked the school run again (figure it will help to do it twice per day despite dc1s protestations, as am minding the 8 yr old cousin aswell at the mo after school). It was cold, blowing and raining. Very glam, not.

In Look magazine, they had this lovely dress. I wonder why I've never heard of this site before?

Btw, I love love love 3/4 sleeves! Everything I own is either 3/4 or I roll things up to 3/4. I have thin wrists and ankles, must be!

Moneyspider · 24/03/2010 16:47

I've found another bit of the t k maxx site which has got some decent graphic tees:

here

dexter73 · 24/03/2010 17:03

I love 3/4 length sleeves on tops but not on a jacket. I think maybe it is because if it is cold enough to be wearing a jacket then I want all my arms to be covered and not get cold wrists.
I have really small wrists and hands which I find strange as my feet are so big!

LetThemEatCake · 24/03/2010 17:08

I love the way a walk to the local shops to pick up the Times with all 3 dcs in tow takes 40mins. Perfect way to manage the witching hour before dinner. It would take me 10mins solo!!

Fel1x I'm sorry I must have missed your post! Thanks for those maxis .... I'm avoiding strapless though, as one of the ones I already have is that style. Sorry to be fussy.

Ugh, I bet I'll just end up buying the APC one. And justifying it on the basis of being classic.

I mean, it is classic. My Zara black blazer has been going strong for about 7 years now.

ooh, is it worth looking in Zara do you think?
