Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 17:29

Does she have the initials SS, LTEC?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 17:38

no!!

why? does she not like me either??? or you? or just everyone?

and who is she??

PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 17:41

Oh God! Just something that I read a couple of nights ago that made me think, "Hey, don't be mean to da Cake, girlfriend". Not on this thread, naturally.

I shall say no more!

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 17:43

oh god!!! was I on the thread!!?? or just being assassinated??

TOTALLY paranoid now!!!!

blossoming · 23/03/2010 17:44

That's awful LTEC. We think you're amazing. Ignore jealous non stylish people.

hellsbelles · 23/03/2010 17:55

afternoon all - i've clicked on links but can't remember what belongs to who! But all lovely so that's good!

Cake - who is being mean to you?!

Tracey - I have to wait till t/m for the smaller size.

And those cakes...my goodness. I want to become a domestic goddess type mother...I WILL try harder next year (hells pretends she didn't order DS's cake ready made for his party ) in my defense I did make him a yummy (but not visually good) cake for his home celebration.

Will catch up properly later!

GeorginaWorsley · 23/03/2010 17:59

Good evening ladies.
Found a gorgeous soft navy open cardigan in Sainsbury's today, reduced to £7!
They have got lovely chunky jewellery in there too.
Is it me or have Jigsaw got marginally better recently??
Used to love their stuff but it has all been a bit grim the past few seasons.

PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 18:08

'Tec, you were there, so obviously didn't pick up on it yourself. No doubt just me being super sensitive, making sure I've got my girl's back.

Now, who do you think is just not that into you?

OP posts:
traceybath · 23/03/2010 18:12

Plum - oooh will have to go and have a peruse in Zara but probably not until after the incredibly long easter holidays.

Georgi - I like jigsaw a lot at the moment - definitely got a lot better. Not as shapeless as it was.

monkeysmama · 23/03/2010 18:19

Hey girls

Popping in very quick to say I'm here sporadically but having a sad week. A close relative died suddenly at the weekend and taking it a bit hard. Will be back to my smiling self in a few days and will come and tell you about all the retail therapy I've been cheering myself up with.

MM x

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 18:24

oh hello hells, sold any fabulous pieces of art today?? was worried we may not see you for a few days so am very glad you are here. Have a vino and check in later

Thanks Bloss & Plum, aw, I love my girls. I think I know what you mean now Plum, was it my vaguely aspiring waifette non-pc attitudes to weight loss?? Well, that was a non-starter, that was. Never mind. I shall be whisper-thin toute seule.

Anyway, it's a funny thing this lurking business. I was pondering it as I stirred the risotto. Like, it's great when these friendly delurkers appear but it does make you wonder - how many people might be lurking?? And judging?????

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 18:24

oh cross post with MM. So sorry to hear that. Thinking of you x

traceybath · 23/03/2010 18:29

Oh MM - really sorry to hear that - hope you're all coping ok.

LTEC - I know regarding judging. One of the many things I like about this thread is that its possible to post a link to something that costs more than £5 without getting lots of - oh you're so immoral comments.

Talking of weight though - you must be teeny tiny now. I've just eaten mini eggs - lordy what was I thinking.

crumpette · 23/03/2010 18:39

OK I am outing myself as an occasional lurker

I love this thread, I don't judge! I don't think anyone who bothers to lurk would judge you. In fact maybe nobody else does bother to lurk, but if they do it's because they are avid shopaholics and certainly not judgey at all

I am currently on maternity leave and live in dread of the days DP comes home early and finds DHL deliveries or bits of tissue paper from packaging!

And LTEC everybody loves you!

crumpette · 23/03/2010 18:44

I simply can't stand the 'oh my god how could you possibly consider spending that much money on shoes/a bag/ a holiday' posts that come if you post anywhere else.. and really, each to their own.
And inspiration can be drawn from many sources, I can see something lovely and expensive and find a lower priced identical version if I so wish
So lurkers, come on speak up!

crumpette · 23/03/2010 18:45

(sorry to jump in unannounced by the way, and MM I am very sorry to hear your sad news)

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 18:50

if only tracey - sadly, I'll never be teeny tiny. But reasonably slim - a combo of dropping feeds, plus being ill - and then, always one to strike while the iron's hot, am doing the JuiceMaster diet so have had nothing but fresh juices for 4 days now, apart from the odd handful of almonds and, today, raisins. (as bad as mini eggs - I curse my sweet tooth)

So back to pre-preg weight but will just go a bit further, I think.

Now how about you? have you settled in to your new frame now?? did being out on Sat night and being told how good you look make you feel thin? 'Cos that's always the thing isn't it, feeling it, as opposed to just taking the numbers on the scales at face value.

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 18:52

oh hello crumpette!! And thank you.

PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 19:22

Phew, glad that's done and dusted.

Re lurkers,

I can't honestly imagine anyone would last long lurking here unless they were of similarly W&A mind. Suspect they'd die of boredom (or combust with disgust).

Come on in, the water's lovely.

PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 19:35

Forgot so say, also today I booked in to see this make-up artist at the Laura Mercier counter in Johnny Lou-Lou next month. Am hoping she will give me some help with quick-as-a-flash morning make-up for school run.

I can do drag-queen-on-a-big-night-out for special occasions, but it does rather frighten the horses in the playground.

OP posts:
PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 19:39

One more from me, and then I'll go, I promise!

Also while in JL, saw this dress which thought could be my Ascot dress (with a different belt), with nude patent courts, and maybe this hat

Your thoughts, ladies, please.

OP posts:
HappyHome · 23/03/2010 19:42

It would be rude not to de-lurk now wouldn't it

I can honestly say I am a lurker of the non judging variety. My life as a wahm, living in the sticks doesn't call for much style but I love looking at all those lovely links.
After all a girls got to dream hasn't she!

hellsbelles · 23/03/2010 19:43

LTEC - - anything as glam as art dealers would be fabulous. We are so far from that you will laugh out loud. DH is a very talented writer (and started out as a poet!) but alas we've been drawn over to the dark side. I'll have to get you on FB and shatter all your lovely illusions (or maybe not - wouldn't want to ruin it for you?)

Crumpette - thanks for delurking

I suspect lots of people lurk and have fun - and a few do lurk and judge...and if they do and it makes them feel better then no matter really? They don't know our personal circumstances...what situations we have been through before and where we are now.

I am slowly learning through MN NOT to be as judgey as I fear I was in the past. And it is actually one of the best things about this site.

hellsbelles · 23/03/2010 19:45

HH - another delurker! How wonderful!

Plum - can you remind me of your colouring (which is vital to my opinion on the dress )

rufus101 · 23/03/2010 19:48

God I am totally addicted to this thread! I did outlurk myself a few days ago. It felt (ahem) very liberating. Can't imagine anyone lasting very long on here if they didn't absolutely love, and crave fashion. (Still dithering over the hasbeens.) By the time I decide, they'll be yesterdays news! So keep those links coming. I am persuading myself I am actually saving time by cruising this site. It's the only one I look at on mumsnet.
