Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

Blossoming - yes, ballet flats are the £25 ones from Gap. Not the ones w elastic around the edges, that come in pewter and bronze, but the traditional ballet flats (no elastic). Its a pale silver, and they also come in black. Am looking for a back up pair, for if they fail.

bunnymother · 23/03/2010 15:21

OWW - those party suggestions sound great - will be looking back here come June...

Cakey - I think I quite fancy a navy blazer, too, so will be watching w interest.

Does anyone know of a nice black and white breton top? I have navy and white...

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 15:28

navy blazer

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 15:35

well I have been a bit naughty and had a teensy spending spree, getting this vest in 2 x black and 1 x white and these boring shoes and almost getting these but couldn't work out if they were nice and summery, or too reminiscent of old fat crinkly lady on a cruise ship with swollen ankles...

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 15:37

Thankfully I did not buy this bag though, as I reasoned it was too expensive and the short handle impossibly to wear over shoulder would irritate me beyond belief

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 15:41

impossibly ? anyway I am having to meet the FIL and his wife in a couple of weeks time at a very snobby golf club for lunch and then some kind of event afterwards, will have small baby in tow.. what should I wear!? Am thinking dress and nice shoes and hoping it will be warm, but I.have.nothing.to.wear.

OllieWollieWoo · 23/03/2010 15:41

That blazer is lovely vin.

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 15:43

have only met them once before and they are impeccably snooty, I am a bit nervous

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 15:47

Ollie, x-posts, I think it's lovely but am trying to be good- I really like the sleeves! The only reservation I have is that I had to wear navy blazer at school and would be scared of feeling like I am wearing the same clothing (traumatised, clearly!)

SpringyWho · 23/03/2010 15:51

Another delurker here - you ladies are costing me a fortune & you don't even know I exist

I've been loving your links. I've been in a bit of a style wilderness (11 month old DS is the main explanation there!) but you're drawing me out of it. I'm even accessorising again! Glory be!

I want to buy this (it's for charity, so it's not even shopping, really, is it? ), but resent paying a third of the price of it in shipping on top. So either I need a free delivery code, or something else to add to the order to make it worthwhile. My credit card prays for the code, but you know how it is...

SpringyWho · 23/03/2010 15:54

Oh, bag porn. I can do that.

This came this morning. I love it. I've been lovingly caressing it most of the day. & I've clipped this which arrived yesterday on to it, which makes it all the more amazing.

it may or may not be sitting in its own chair so I can see it properly right now.

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 16:03

Ah springy I long for a net a porter discount code.. I would love it more than I love DCs
That bag looks very soft and dreamy and of course is totally practical shade and fabulous for summer.. tries not to order it

My hatred for patent shoes has waned and I am very nearly salivating over these for work (classic?) but fearing DP would disapprove in the extreme!

vinauchocolat · 23/03/2010 16:06

Anyway I have only just de-lurked, welcome Springy! There's no way out now... first you link to a bag and then you will be wearing hasbeens and harem pants in paris and spending your annual salary on shoes

SpringyWho · 23/03/2010 16:17

Haha, you joke about the DCs thing - my bag is actually sitting in DS's special chair whilst he's out at the CM's & I'm internet shopping working. He's easily replaced You should buy it. It's amazing. There are so many compartments, hard-wearing leather, & it's cross body, so it's amazingly practical. Plus it's just so very, very beautiful.

I already have hasbeens on order

I love, love, love the CLs, but have absolutely no reason to buy them - my life is seriously lacking in glamour. They would just sit in my wardrobe crying at how neglected they were & it'd break my heart.

traceybath · 23/03/2010 16:20

Springy - gorgeous bag!

Hells - meant to say I love the YSL dress. How did you get on with the moschino in the smaller size though?

MM - where are you?

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 16:41

(mid-risotto making, quick)

lovely blazer vin but too spendy for an item that I'm not 100% about, thanks though

tracey I am going to try to look like that model too, I think. Sounds a good look

hello delurkers Lovely to have you but yes, where are some of our longstanding W&Aers, MM, Dolce and MrsJ for starters??

PlumSykes · 23/03/2010 16:59

Hola, Spring, gorgeous bag.

Tracey, I thought of you today in Zara. They had a couple of pretty white cotton dresses, a bit Brigit Bardot-esque. Are you still looking, or did you decide to just wait for the Alice one?

They also had lots of lovely flat glads in there, but DS was at the end of his tether, so no time to try on.

Was in fact a trip to teh shops only to return things.

Took back this beacuse it lasted one wash before the seam split, and these in grey, because the 5 was too tight. WQanted to chnage for next size up, but in teh 6 my feet were flapping around like a pair of herrings in a couple of buckets. Also returned this as it made me look v washed out. May re-buy in red, though.

Walked thru Debenhams, and spotted Henry Holland range they have in there. Reminded me that I used to work on the same floor as him when he was fashion assistant at Bliss mag. He used to wear hideous club-kid gear and call himself Henry Tredy. Oh how we used to laugh at him when he left the lift. And oh, how he's the one laughing now, while I'm returning dodgy knitwear to New Look and cooking fish fingers for tea.

How annoying, posted my post pre-edits and post. Sorry all!

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 17:10

oh Plum I have so many people in my life like that that I could cry (used to be tragic, now massively successful while I struggle to keep my ahead above the murky waters of mediocrity)

what a shame so many returns - more ££ to spend on stuff you love though

sorry OWW meant to say, yes, a bit short that blazer

and springy - lovely lovely bag

btw - have any of you ever had the distinct impression that another Mner maybe does like you????

LetThemEatCake · 23/03/2010 17:11

dexter73 · 23/03/2010 17:20

Have you got an admirer LTEC !
Who was after a black/white striped top? There are a few in Next here, here and here.

dexter73 · 23/03/2010 17:22

Not an admirer then!
