Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
traceybath · 21/03/2010 14:50

SPG10 gets 20% off white co.

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 15:03

tracey you big tease we need the lowdown on your night of frocked-up glory please!!!!!

traceybath · 21/03/2010 15:08

Well I am feeling a little delicate today

But outfit did look fab if I say so myself. Wore dress, with nude colour peep toe platform shoes, pink snakeskin clutch and black biker jacket on top. Had lots of pleasing comments on slenderness although am eating many many carbs today in an attempt to soak up wine.

Rufus - hello. I prefer these hasbeens. I think they need that little bit more heel.

How are you feeling - any better?

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 15:15

rufus - I prefer the peep toe high (because I have those )

Tracey - you sound like you looked amazing!

LTEC - you mentioned some shoes to go with my dress (that I may or may not keep!)....do you have a link perchance?

Good lord I'm grumpy today. A mixture disappointment (promised deferred mothers day lie-in was a complete wash out) and goodness knows what. I should spend to get an adrenaline rush!

LTEC - do write something on your blog - I need some cheer up tonic . Also kids book is a fab idea - you can join the ranks of JK (..katie price, Geri Haliwell and Fergie )...seriously though - would be fun and possibly lucrative!

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 15:17

oh gorgeous! sounds fabulous - how fantastic to have a rare night out complete with great clothes and compliments - love it. What did you do with Bea?

yes, thanks so much for asking. Had 3 days of complete fluey misery - really felt grim. 100% better today. Also in fabulous mood as those three days have stripped poundage from me and jeans are hanging down to my knees despite having made new hole on my belt

and then as I know it is terrible to feel that way, much less to admit it

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 15:19

these shoes hells

I own them, though blush to say they've not yet graced my feet

friend's 40th in 3 weeks though - watch out kids!!

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 15:20

good lord are you reading my blog? I didn't think anyone was actually reading it apart from my mum!!

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 15:23

well you deserve a benefit for the suffering Cake (though I know I should say that either!).

Those shoes are heart stoppingly beautiful...but I am not a practiced heel wearer so will have to find the same but with a couple of inches cut off! Yes Yes I know they won't be the same...but it will be darn sight more attractive than me wobbling about like an man in drag (my usual look when I attempt high high heels).

So have you got the rest of your outfit sorted for teh 40th Cake? Need I ask - I bet you have.

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 15:24

of course I am reading it

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 15:27

ha ha - yes - this

basically the same outfit that I had earmarked for my b'day last dec ... had slightly overestimated my ability to go out/ look good etc with an 11-week old in the mix

but everything comes to she who waits ...

btw, they are the shoes that I spent my Health in Pregnancy grant on

on the look out for sim but shorter for you

hellsbelles · 21/03/2010 15:31

You have been patient! And you will look heartachingly perfect. That's an amazing outfit (though I'm keeping fingers crossed that the weather is o.k...as I know you don't do cover ups - so you could be a little chilly!

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 15:42

btw - re the tailor question - is it worth giving the lovely folk at Morgan Davies a call and asking if they can recommend?

LOL no cover-ups - il faut souffrir pour la mode as per today's complete swizzle of Times style supplement (men!!! who cares about men's fashion ffs!!) - it's in a restaurant so I should be ok

vinauchocolat · 21/03/2010 16:14

Lovely shoes LTEC! Oooh ooh ooh
and lovely dress too

I cannot remember who was kind enough to link to a cashback site. But just popped on to say- it works! You get something like 12% extra back when you waste money at my-wardrobe.com! In my little head that means I am saving money, not spending anything at all so this swimming costume was almost bargainous

Haven't actually got anywhere to go yet- but will probably be away in May or June and daren't don a bikini post-DC2, not for a looong time anyway

LTEC I am intrigued about your blog! Link?

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 16:27

oh thanks vin - can't wait to wear it actually. That cozzie is also quite fab - talk me through the cashback thing? did I miss something??

blogs - I have a couple!!

me

again

my much wealthier and less maternal alter-ego

carciofi · 21/03/2010 17:13

Hi, I am back again, had a great time in Dublin and we were lucky with the weather but did no shopping apart from some duty free make-up on the way back. My brother is going to NY in April so I might give him a little shopping list for me. I'd like a DVF dress and some more Splendid tops

I have loads to read up on but LTEC, I like your new blog.

Tracey, the MJ dress is gorgeous!

vinauchocolat · 21/03/2010 17:21

Thank you for links LTEC hilarious blogs!! I can't get 2nd link to work, but have had a quick click and am roffling away with DS looking a little sad and hungry that I have been ignoring him while reading

anyway right this site is the one someone linked to earlier, all I did was give them my details (gasp) and then click on to the site via the cashback website, and after shopping trip you account is credited with 12% ? maybe 10% of the value of the shopping and eventually you do a BACS transfer back into your bank account. Also it can be used in conjunction with any other magical codes floating about et voila, you haven't spent any money at all!

bunjies · 21/03/2010 17:21

Very quick pop in as I'm getting ready for my trip back to the UK tomorrow am. May even get a visit to the cinema in to see My Last 5 Girlfriends .

Cake - of course we're all reading your blog and I didn't realise you were also Yummymummydom & Mafia Mummy (although link doesn't seem to work for me)!!

I've ordered this. No doubt it will be going back as it will probably make me look pregnant but I really wanted to try it on, especially as it's been designed for shorties.

Have a lovely week everyone. I'll be back next weekend with newly shorn & coloured hair, oozing style and chicdom, having been rejuvenated by my trip to the big smoke.

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 17:38

sorry don't know why the sheerluxe.com links aren't working

www.sheerluxe.com/blog/two-thousand-and-zen.htm and then there are links on left to previous entries

High Maintenance Mummy

LetThemEatCake · 21/03/2010 17:55

vinauchocolat · 21/03/2010 18:00

rufus101 · 21/03/2010 23:32

Oh no. Don't know if I can wear them that high. I want them for my runaround sandals. Thought I had it all sorted!

rufus101 · 22/03/2010 00:22

What do you think of them in the mustard?www.swedishhasbeens.com/peep-toe-super-high-p-4.html Im strangely drawn!

bunjies · 22/03/2010 06:16

Thanks Cake. Can you believe I'm leaving in half an hour and I'm surfing this thread! I wish I had an iPhone so I could catch up whilst I'm away but unfortunately my parents are stuck in the dark ages and don't have broadband . Byeeee!

Romanarama · 22/03/2010 07:58

I know it's got nothing to do with style, but this link is all about beauty. It's improved my week, and my professional identity crisis so much that I really want you all to watch it and love it too. It's 20 minutes, but you'll be so glad you took that time: zander on music and passion

LetThemEatCake · 22/03/2010 08:09

Oh thanks Roman, I'll watch it tonight after the dcs are in bed. My beauty-related efforts could do with some help.

hells meant to say y'day, sorry your day got off to a rubbish start and hope it improved immeasurably. There's a new blog post, complete with eye candy up especially for you.

tracey hope you are returned to your usual chipper self today and that the wine-fug isn't still hanging around your perfectly-coifed head
