Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

Disclaimer: beauty as in the beauty of a life full of passion and inspiration (rather than slap and 8 glasses water/day sort of thing)

CHOOGIRL · 22/03/2010 09:58

Just checking in quickly as I am working. Do you think we should all buy these t-shirts for our DD's in homage to our W&A leader Letthemeatcake

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 10:00

who'd have thought W&A would be tonic for the soul!

Cake - you have cheered me up two-fold. With beautiful eye candy and also my urban outfitter bargain trousers. which arrived this morning. Perfect. Thank you for the tip off. £9.99 is an absolute steal.

And Roman. I was so moved by the talk. It reminds me a lot of my lovely (step) grand-mother who made it her mission to educate me about the beauty of classical music - I've rather lost it along the way (she died a long time ago)...but this has re-ignited it.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2010 10:07

Roman that talk was fantastic and funny. The Chopin was beautiful but it was the 'shiney eyes' part I loved. I try and make my children laugh and have shiney eyes every day!

Choo I love that Britney tshirt, I don't have girls (eyes up blonde ds2 and wonders if he could wear it). The painting on the front is also done by one of my fave artists.

LetThemEatCake · 22/03/2010 10:26

I've had the John & Yoko one in my shopping basket for a couple of days, it actually looks a bit like me & dh which makes me laugh. I bought this tray for the same reason - we were in a shop and ds1 pointed and shouted "that my mummy that my daddy!!!!" Had to purchase

hells glad the UO trousers are good!

hanaflower - I really liked the dress. Just the sort of thing I was looking for wedding wise - but cant wear lemon/yellow as blonde and v pale.

Also, was it you who had stuff from Laura Ashley in your wardrobe as mentioned ages ago on this thread? I went to order this dress after much debate (in my head!) and of course it was sold out in a 12 (and they had 25% off until yesterday - always the way....) here. Was wondering about getting a 10? Would you say their clothes came up true to size or otherwise? Like the neckline and colour good in me - just wasn't sure about the shape of the bottom half (slightly flared) and whether it would just look wrong - hence the faff! I love the breton style dresses around but can't get away with anything too clingy/fitted but wondered about this with a wide leather belt or leggings. Thoughts please!!

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 13:01

those teeshirts are so funny!

hana - I like the dress - not 100% sure on the 'cappedness' (is that a word!) of the sleeves. I suspect it would look even more perfect as a shift (without sleeves).

Off to have a read of HMM - LTEC - pray tell - who is your inspiration for your alter ego?

OWW - I do wish they'd show the dress on a model it's so hard to tell...it could be good (sorry to be so non committal

blossoming · 22/03/2010 13:30

I like that dress OWW. Are you sure the 12 is sold out? On iPhone but seems all sizes are available.

OllieWollieWoo · 22/03/2010 13:30

LTEC - I love that tray - would make me smile everytime I used it!

OllieWollieWoo · 22/03/2010 14:29

Just checked again blossoming- the website is infuriating - it lets you put the size 12 into your basket then a little message in red pops us for 5 secs saying the dress has sold out in this size and then the message goes and the dress is still in your shopping basket! Grrrr! Will keep an eye on it tho or maybe call Customer Services. Glad you like it tho!
I also agree hells re the site being terrible for seeing the clothes - they could at least show it on a dummy!

traceybath · 22/03/2010 16:41

Kimberley dress from whistles arrived and has gone straight back - way too mutton and to be honest very poor quality.

My new favourite cheap shop is new look - worth a look ladies.

ApuskiDusky · 22/03/2010 17:35

Calling LTEC and hells - talk to me about your Urban Outfitters cropped trousers - mine arrived today, and I am a little disconcerted to find that I can fit into the small at 6 months pregnant, albeit snugly - I bought them to wear post-pregnancy! The waist looks quite adjustable, how much difference is there on yours between fully expanded and fully tightened?!

Other purchases that have arrived today - the olive splendid cardigan from NAP is a keeper (will look better without a big bump protruding) and I'm also going to keep the black biker cardigan I bought from Urban Outfitters.

Still waiting for Toast to dispatch, and won't be able to pick up any parcels until Friday so will have to curb my impatience.

GeorginaWorsley · 22/03/2010 17:47

tracey..I have found a few things in New Look myself!

Romanarama · 22/03/2010 18:05

Another interview on 29th... The Sportmax suit will get its 3rd outing, hopefully with the Choos in the right size this time. It has already been for a coffee with a European PM, how cool is that! It's my favourite suit by miles. Please let me get a job so I can shop Sportmax more intensively!

traceybath · 22/03/2010 18:10

Golly Roman - your life sounds very glam.

I love the juxtaposition of Georgi and I praising New Look with your tales of European power meetings

What did you wear with the suit or could you get away with the jacket just done up and no shirt?

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 18:49

apuski - I'm wearing them balanced on the hips rather than the waist - and alas for that I don't need to adjust them!

Rather magically a 42 has just appeared in the lovely moschino dress. So I'm doing an exchange in the hope that it is a better fit. If not then alas it's going back.

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 18:50

Wow - Roman that does sound impressive!

Romanarama · 22/03/2010 18:52

Now that would be an interview strategy. Take a look at the jacket and picture me in that with nothing under

My life is not glamorous really at all, but luckily at least I know people who know people who are trying to help me out of my depression at having hit the buffers careerwise!!

Glamorous life example: Today I walked the dog for a long time, then read a thriller for a few hours before collecting my boys from school. I was in my Ash high tops that arrived this morning in the right size, and are lovely. Can trainers count as glamour? They are gold and quite shiny.

Romanarama · 22/03/2010 18:55

Forgot to answer the question (can you see why I'm not very good in interviews?!). I wore a white lycra body which has a white satin shirt collar. I really did look the part, so must have talked rubbish. C'est la vie. I figure I'm too chic and insufficiently boring

Romanarama · 22/03/2010 18:56

Have you all watched the vid that I linked to btw? I want everyone to watch it.

OllieWollieWoo · 22/03/2010 18:59

Which reminds me traceybath - got this last week which I'm really pleased with here - very thin material so needs a vest underneath but good colour on me, fits well and great to throw on with indigo boyfriend jeans and (when it gets warmer) white shorts or jeans. As they say in Holland - super leuk (v nice!)

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 19:05

I have roman and thought it was amazing.

traceybath · 22/03/2010 19:49

Roman - lol at jacket with nothing underneath having now looked again at the picture. You'd have certainly got their attention

OWW - ooh thats a pretty top.

Hells - fingers crossed the dress fits better - you see, you're teeny tiny.

hellsbelles · 22/03/2010 19:53

I'm really not Tracey - I think it's either the style or they just size very generously.

Just in case it isn't right I'm wondering if this is an (expensive) alternative. Yes yes - tis very costly but my DM will only get married the once (I hope!)
