Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

Roman - sorry to hear the interview was a disappointment.

On the Temperley - maybe my arms are better than I thought! The dress was o.k on my arms. I had more of an issue with the length (the gathered bit seemed to reveal rather too much pasty leg on me!).

I'm too knackered to dig it out of the wardrobe and try it on again but I hope I didn't make a big mistake! It's waiting for brown legs and a hotter day.

Barbabelle · 19/03/2010 09:49

OWW I think that Whistles dress could be worth a try. I also lack cleavage (despite breastfeeding) and still have a bit of tummy but find that drapey front things tend to flatter my figure.

Hana thanks for that birdcage necklace link. Going to buy it for a friend who has a birthday coming up - it's perfect for her.

notyummy · 19/03/2010 09:51

Yes - meant to say sorry about the interview. Did you think they were harsh or that you didn't 'perform' quite as well as you would have liked?

hellsbelles · 19/03/2010 09:57

What does everything think of this for me to wear at my DM's wedding (in late June).

She is refusing to allow me to spend much on her dress so I can't go crazy with mine. I've tried everything to persuade her to go super glam (after MN advice I was pitching 'Helen Miren Oscar look') but she's not having it and wants a polyester special?!?!?!?!? I'm going to order it for her (it's online) in the hope that she will realise it's all wrong and let me properly spoil her!

MarshaBrady · 19/03/2010 09:58

Hells that is stunning!

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2010 10:05

love love love that hells

sorry to hear y'day not great Roman but very glad you felt good in the suit

tracey great news on dress, so pleased you have something fab to wear tomorrow night - what shoes?

one in, one out here - DHL picked up the too-high Choo clogs yesterday and UPS were hot on their heels with the Hasbeens which are weirdly perfect in their slight ugliness. Should've listened to tracey and SJP from the get-go!

off to look at links

notyummy · 19/03/2010 10:09

hells that is gorgeous.

hellsbelles · 19/03/2010 10:11

thanks for the thumbs up ladies. I'll let you know how it looks.

Oi LTEC - I've been a hasbeen/ugg advocate for a while as well Glad you like them too and our wardrobes are starting to match again!

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2010 10:16

Apuski good call on the cardi, can't overestimate the worth of a good cardi when bfing!! also worth buying one of the gorgeous scarves for further discretion methinks ...

re the Juicys - I got these the other day - dirt cheap in the sale and very very flattering on (speaking as someone with 6mo dc and who hates bottom half at best of times)

bunny think that necklace is great!

MarshaBrady · 19/03/2010 10:18

Right I'm going to get some Hasbeens too. But I want a bright colour, TraceyB what did you get?

LTEC how is the sizing? I'm going to have to order from the Hasbeen site and not keen on sending back.

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2010 10:18

I also like how the Hasbeens come down low enough to make a non-perfect pedi pas de probleme hells

MarshaBrady · 19/03/2010 10:19

Hells what colour do you have?

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2010 10:20

well, I'm a 42 usually but ordered a 41 and they are fine. Only the leather is a tad tough for the mo so will wear at home with socks for a week or so to soften up

MarshaBrady · 19/03/2010 10:21

Great thanks, will get a 40.

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2010 10:23

love your jersey dress hells, also the navy one OWW - although I can't wear as too pear-shaped ... makes me look as though wearing a toga

notyummy · 19/03/2010 10:27

LTEC thanks for the link to the trousers - I am a similar shape to you I think so will give them a try. What is the sizing like? Would a medium fit a size 12?

PlumSykes · 19/03/2010 10:28

Oh, look at these!

DD's feet are still too small, sadly.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2010 10:30

yep, I got a medium - perfect and just a touch baggy

bunnymother · 19/03/2010 10:32

Thanks for the feedback on the necklace and shoes! Always good to get multiple opinions, and I have OK feet, but need to re-do DIY pedi ASAP.

Hells - oh how I love that Moschino dress - its so beautiful! Oh how cute is that necklace?! DD would prob strangle me with it, but imagine she would be fascinated by it when she is older.

Tracey - congrats on the dress!

Roman - bugger, sorry to hear about your interview.

MM - I think we do have similar taste.

Thanks for the link to Anthropologie, think that DD and I will be heading there in RL to check it out sometime in the next few weeks.

traceybath · 19/03/2010 10:49

Hells I love that dress - gorgeous colour and style.

LTEC - glad the hasbeens are good. I haven't actually ordered any yet and now none in my size (35) so going to wait until they've got some and order them. Can't decide on colour though . . .

Off for a spraytan later - I am such a WAG in training Am dropping Arthur and Bea at dh's office for an hour - what fun that will be fore everyone

bodsmum · 19/03/2010 11:00

so many gorgeous links...the moschino is stunning and your mum will love the colour choice hells..i really liked the other 2 dresses as well..what a shame about the arm pit hair trompe l'oeil effect on the first one!

the necklace is great bunny..i have a leather one with 'jewels' that is a similar bold style and get lots of use out of..looks fab with plain summer vests..but have had to restitch some of bits as DD still managed to yank them off!

I love the MJ tracey even as someone who cannot carry off small prints at all..you will look fab on saturday.

and those baby hasbeens..how cute!

bodsmum · 19/03/2010 11:04

and roman really hope the interview turns out to be one of those where it went much better than it felt at the time..the important thing is you looked fabu..

hellsbelles · 19/03/2010 11:11

those trousers are a total bargain LTEC - do you think they would work on someone a few inches shorter! And at the thought of gorgeous you rocking the socks and clogs look!

Marsha - I got the red ones - I'm not quite sure what I'll wear them with! But the colour is good.

I'm getting very excited about the dress now - I hope it lives up to expectations! Will you all help me find shoes to match (once I know if it's right or not!)?

Bodsmum - DD pulled of some of my "embellishment" from my Rare breton top on the weekend, so also suffering from DC de-blinging my things. Think the necklace would also suffer, but 'tis so nice think I will buy it anyway...
