Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
traceybath · 18/03/2010 16:22

Yes, I like the last one too.

MJ dress is brilliant - fits really well - am going to wear it to wedding evening do on Saturday.

Barbabelle · 18/03/2010 17:46

Another vote for the last Splendid cardi. Quite tempted by it myself. Also love the malene birger scarf it's shown with. Have a similar one from Plumo with bright pink tassels that I wear a lot.

< wrenches hands out from under arse >

Hi thought those looking for cardis might be interested to hear that phase 8 (whispers) have lots - in fact, I bought the 'Gail' one today, which I love as it will make me feel all artsy as I waft around in my flowery dress and KG lace up boots. Sorry can't link from itouch.

Also saw some wedgy sandals called Larissa at fatface - I know. They'd look awful on my genetic throwbacks feet but someone might like them.

Try again www.phase-eight.co.uk.

ApuskiDusky · 18/03/2010 19:18

Thanks all, well, I've ordered the second splendid cardi, and as I was ordering the alexa sandals from toast anyway (good to hear you like them Barbabelle), I ordered their short sleeved cardi too. I checked on ebay and there are a few linen toast cardigans on there that look in good second hand nick, so hopefully it'll be OK after washing.

And I have also ordered these - I was debating between black and olive but decided black went with more (like the new cardigan!).

hellsbelles · 18/03/2010 19:43

evening all - Tracey - so glad the MJ is a success. I am very

Bodsmum - glad Tracey got to you in time on those shoes.

Vinu - love all your links. at the CL's - beautiful but dangerously high for RL!

In fit of ?!? I did a biggish NAP shop yesterday. I got the 2nd splendid cardi - which isn't WOW but is soft and nice and I'm going to keep it (hope you like it too Apuski)

this is lovely lovely - fits beautifully - with one quite major flaw. I'm very dark haired and the 'lace' insert looks like overgrown under arm hair! If it was a cheaper dress I would just cut it out but I can't justify keeping something at that cost which isn't spot on.

I know most of you will hate this and to be honest it's not great jersey quality...but somehow the cut works really well on me and DH gave it the thumbs up. Even with my big tummy and bottom it elongates me and makes them look better. It's probably not worth the money but I tend to keep hold of anything that is flattering!

traceybath · 18/03/2010 20:14

Hells - I hadn't even noticed the lace bit on the dress - how annoying.

I like the jersey dress and do not believe for one minute that you have a big tummy or bottom.

DS1 has headlice again - yuck! Have just de-loused him - the joys of parenthood.

hellsbelles · 18/03/2010 20:20

oh Tracey - you poor thing! WE found Hedrin did the trick (over 2 treatments!)

If you zoom in on the picture of the dress you can actually see the 'hair' effect even on the model

traceybath · 18/03/2010 20:26

Oh yes - I can see the little tufts - what an interesting design feature

Yes, hedrin will be the next step.

bunnymother · 18/03/2010 20:30

No comments on this Lily & Lionel necklace?

Also thinking about these Gap sandals, as am riding high after uber comfy but still lovely silver leather ballet flats I bought from Gap last week.

traceybath · 18/03/2010 20:41

Bunny - I like the necklace - have been contemplating a statment necklace myself.

Not so sure about the sandals though but thats because I have ugly feet - think just too flowery . . .

OllieWollieWoo · 18/03/2010 20:56

Hellesbelles - that jersey dress is (OWW tries really hard to find the right word but fails miserably) lovely. Love the detail on the back. Def a keeper!

Just been on the Whistles website and really like the 'drape front dress' in navy (Whistles website pants to link to - sorry) not sure if the drape front would fall too low and expose my lack of cleavage and too much of mummy tummy! Dress here on second row.

Also - my lovely twin sister - who looks nothing like me - totally different colouring and shape etc - wanted me to tell you all (she is a non MN but I've been banging on about this thread) she brought this top today (8 weeks after having DS2) here - I wasn't sure at first but its growing on me and think it would really suit her.

hellsbelles · 18/03/2010 21:03

OWW - I can't work out which dress you mean!

So no one things I should have kept the dress with the underarm hair detail?

Bunny - my feet are too ugly for those - but if you have pretty feet - then they will look lovely. And the necklace could be great - their scarves are lovely so I assume it'll be good quality.

where is our leader?

monkeysmama · 18/03/2010 21:03

Bunny I have said it before but I think our tastes are similar-I bought those shoes yesterday though they've yet to arrive as delivery came exactly 4 minutes before I got home . Love the necklace too.

Love the MJ dress Tracey & glad you e found something you're happy in for the wedding. I've been keeping an eye open during all my Internet shopping. How will you style it?

Hells I adore that dress. I am a big grey fan anyway but it looks lovely. I may have to get one too though am wondering when you'll wear it /how & if my life offers enough opportunities for it.

Cakey I'm ordering the carvela heels we liked weeks ago. Think Tracey said the leather isn't great in rl but I've seen nothing I like as much.

I've booked another holiday ! So week in Italy next month once my bestest friend's baby arrives. They were trying for almost a decade so it'll be such a happy time. Then just booked week in friend's villa in Portugal in early May with mum, sis & dd. In June we have the week I'm dreading with the ils and dp's
awful sister. Then August in Italy & September somewhere hot & splendid as yet undecided. Need to get bikini buying! I sound like I've won the lottery. In rl all the holidays are free/cheap with family/mates. I'm a natural born nomad & hate us staying put for more than a month or so. Poor dd ].

Any bikini success? I'm a (almost 10) 12 with 34f saggy boobs, good long legs and nice bum but muffin bits I hate. Tankinis have a bad reputation but maybe my summer friends. Has to be strapless too. I hate deciding what to wear only to find there are white tan marks all over the place on me (shallow as I am).

OllieWollieWoo · 18/03/2010 21:17

Bloody Whistles wesbite - click on the view all dresses button and look for the navy drape front dress - its got a v/cowl neck and model has hands in her pockets! Asos has a similar one in black but doesn't seem to hang as nice as the navy one and doesnt have the belt - unless I am being sucked in with clever photography on the Whistles site!

hellsbelles · 18/03/2010 21:27

OWW - I really really like it. In fact I'm tempted.

MM - do you mean the arm hair one or the rick owens? I got the jersey vest top to go with the rick owens and I honestly think it's fine for daytime with flat sandals.

hellsbelles · 18/03/2010 21:29

do they really only have size 8?! Seems like it.

OllieWollieWoo · 18/03/2010 21:34

Arse - 12's have suddenly gone - bloody typical! That will teach me to wander off and look at the Fat Face website!!!!!!!!
(but did see this on there and thought hmmm not bad here

monkeysmama · 18/03/2010 21:34

The Rick Owens Hells. I love it.

Intvu was sh*t but thanks for the good wishes anyway. The Sportmax suit was fabulous though - eyes definitely followed me on the streets of London, despite the lack of the Choos.

I tried on that Alice Temperley stripey dress that everyone was liking on here a couple of days ago in HN and it's not a buyer. It's really nice apart from the ultra-tight sleeves. They were so uncomfortable, and made my arms look like breton sausages, and I've actually got quite skinny arms. Odd.

No other purchases except a big bag of treasure from the bareMinerals counter. It really makes your skin look lovely.

Lovely links Vin, especially Lily and Lionel - those scarves are lovely. The CLs are way too high - who could really manage those??? I wouldn't want to try tbh I'd feel like a hooker or an old Chinese lady with bound feet.

notyummy · 19/03/2010 08:35

Thanks for the tip on the Temperley dress Roma - I have been seriously tempted, but no more!

MarshaBrady · 19/03/2010 09:02

Yes if you look carefully at NaP model it's stretched over her arms too. So good tip, I was going to add it to my next haul.

Sorry to hear the interview was not good Roma. Were they annoying interviewers?

reallygrumpy · 19/03/2010 09:06

Roman - so sorry to hear the interview didn't go well and thanks for putting me off the Temperley dress, I was considering it (but was worried it would be a bit short).

And some exciting news, you can now shop online from Anthropologie see here I'm off for a browse now!
