Lots of threads on at the moment for us- maybe we should have our own topic!

Ah bodies! You know I could never work out why they were so poxy uncomfortable. Of course it's because they were about three quarters of an inch too short, but it never crossed my mind...

Fleecy · 19/12/2009 21:42

Can I join you - even though I'm only 5'8"? I'm a size 8-10 with a very short upper body, long arms and 36" inside leg.

So I need long but not very big trousers, tops in a size 8 that have extra long arms but not long in the torso!

Size 6 feet though so no worries there at least...

Fleecy · 19/12/2009 21:44

I also buy tights in a large even though I need a small as otherwise I can't pull them up! And I wish LTS would have things lower on the waist. They do the sort of things my mother would wear - and I'm fairly certain that's not what they're going for!

AvrilH · 19/12/2009 21:57

Not that tall but still need to buy from the tall ranges...

I am exactly the same measurements as you fleecy, except for size 8 feet and comedy breasts meaning I need long tops just to allow for norkage. I discovered today that shoulder pads work brilliantly on me as have v. narrow shoulders and v. wide hips. I was teased as a teenager as "built like Jessica Rabbit"

for swimming, I find bravissimo tankini sets work well. Otherwise it has to be a bikini.

I struggle to find big narrow flat shoes and outdoorsy stuff for my lanky frame.

Fleecy · 19/12/2009 23:43

Ooh yes, I'm loving all these shoulder pads as well. I also have very narrow shoulders - don't have wide hips but don't have a waist either, so widening my shoulders makes my waist look smaller.

Bikinis aren't good for my tum - scary stuff for any observers. Not that it's wobbly (it is a bit but it ain't bad for a mum of two toddlers!) but it's riddled with stretchmarks

Sleeveless vest style bodies are good for me while it's so cold as I don't get draughty and my short body means they all fit just fine! Long-sleeved ones obviously no good though. Unless I want bracelet sleeves!

I'd love to be more Jessica Rabbit. Bet some of them were jealous really!

HinnyPet · 20/12/2009 01:23

Is size 41 shoe an 8 or a 9 ? I knew there was a conspiracy there ...

alypaly · 20/12/2009 02:22

its a 7.5- 8

golgi · 20/12/2009 09:13

I think a 41 is a seven, 42 is eight.

Lots of shoe shops have 41 as eight, 42 as nine.

Clarks and Dr Martens still do it properly. High St fashion type shoe shops don't.

AvrilH · 20/12/2009 09:22

yep, I sometimes wear 3/4 length sleeves that were never meant to be

buying coats is annoying, as the sleeves are too short in a size that fits me, or I have drooping shoulders - maybe I'll find some with built in shoulder pads in the sales

Ronaldinhio · 20/12/2009 09:24

yeah a 41 is a 7 now for some reason
no good for me as I'm really a 8.5 to 9 but very narrow so some squishing happens

thelunar66 · 20/12/2009 11:33

Can I join please.. I'm only 5ft 8in, but have mad spider limbs - 36 legs and arms that almost drag on the floor.

LTS have about 2 items a year that are any good, but the rest is crappola.

Zara for trousers is the way to go I have found.

Next 'long' is really 'not very long'.

All these mid-thigh length dresses that look so lovely on websites (yes you Dorothy Perkins) barely cover my arse.

thelunar66 · 20/12/2009 11:33

36 INCH legs, obv - not 36 legs

OrmIrian · 20/12/2009 11:35

lol at lunar Now that would give you real problems buying jeans.

spicybingowings · 20/12/2009 18:24

Hi - I'm 5'10.5" size 16 with size 6.5/7 (40/41) feet.

I have found LTS poor quality with really nasty manmade materials and expensive (for what you get). I like DP, Next and New Look for easy shopping.

For the first time ever I have found a DRESS for New Years Eve - it fits beautifully and was only £55! It was from the Next Tall range - I am sooo pleased as I usually end up wearing trousers as dresses are generally out of proportion for me - with the boob bit just under my chin!

This is a great thread!

spicybingowings · 20/12/2009 18:30

I meant to say - if you've larger calves then try Evans as their boots all have wide legs. You may find you need to go down a size though as the shoes are quite large - I got a size 6.

shivster1980 · 20/12/2009 18:45

May I join you? I am 6 Feet tall, Size 8/9 foot (depends on shoes), 36 inch inside leg.

deaddei · 20/12/2009 20:47

You are very welcome shivster1980.

jeminXmashell · 20/12/2009 20:48

I am 6 feet tall, I take a size 10 shoe. I am 36'' trouser leg...oh, and 34 HH bust.

Can I join too?

deaddei · 20/12/2009 20:52

jemin- what fine bosoms you must have! I am a 34F but you are truly blessed.
Size 10 -where do you get shoes from?

OP posts:
chunglimum · 20/12/2009 21:02

Hello, I'm 5'10'', size 8 shoe. How nice to see you all. I'll be checking out New Look and Zara, thanks for that. BTW, LTS is much better design this season but I agree, the quality is generally pretty bad.

figrollinthehay · 20/12/2009 22:56

MrsFlittersnoop - yes it is in Walcot. Just find Waitrose and walk away from town for a bit ...

Beauregard · 20/12/2009 23:02

can i join too?
6ft1 12-14 size 8 shoe
Buy most of my clothes from Next Tall range and oddly enough Primark.I find all primark tops to be very generous in the arm and body length.Recently found some Pj's that are quite nearly ankle length and some skinny jeans.

bumpybecky · 20/12/2009 23:13

me too

I'm amazed how many of us there are

I'm 6ft, size 16ish, 35ish inside leg, size 6.5-7 feet. No idea what my norks are doing, almost stopped bfing ds and they're shrinking!

thelunar66 · 20/12/2009 23:25

Pelvic.. am almost swooning here at the thought of wearing pyjamas that reach my ankles

Beauregard · 20/12/2009 23:34

They are the £8 ones in black with white spots or white with pink spots.Although they did do other colours.
I am yet to find a top from Primark that isnt long enough. And way cheaper than LTS too.
