Boden USA sale starts first and stock plummets!!!

I noticed that the USA sale had started today and was told by someone on the phone that their stock came from a seperate warehouse and the UK would be completely unaffected. However...I had been watching a few items (they were in my basket) and the gold brogue pumps were available in gold in most sizes last night and now they are totally sold out and when you check the stock it's the same on both sites.

I just can't beliebe Boden start the US sale first, what about their loyal British customers??!!

I would (not buy as protest) but I can't buy anyway as the stuff I wanted has gone! Okay, okay if honest I might have a look at some stage to see if there's anything I like at a decent price (I'm sure most of us will), but all thoughts of being in there at the start and loading up basket etc have evaporated.

Oh and ps - I should add in my defence that I'm not just a 'sales troll'. I've bought a decent amt of stuff 'this term' and thought I deserved a bit more at sale prices!

so are they misleading us about warehouses or not? i don't care about the reviews, they'd be mad not to moderate them a bit. but flogging all the clothes cheap to americans is annoying and lying about it is really off.

The elf is right. tis overpriced, i'd only ever buy in sale. but not being size 6 or size 16, there'll be nothing left in my size.

it is odd that the american website says 'shipped from the uk' and johnnie is swearing blind that boden usa is entirely separate!!!! I lvoe a good conspiracy theory. (although this one has more basis than most!)

I now havE More appealing ways of spending my friday morning than sending cash to jhnnie b. I am going t the butchr to buy oxtail for my first attempt at oxtail stew. Lie to me if you want johnnie, favour the U S if you want to johnnie, I will keep my bucks for oxtail stew and holidays and will deride your company to anyone who will listen you dirty badger

Ladies Ladies, please calm down.

There is a reason why the US get the sale first.

  1. UK customers have a MUCH better service than the US customers. i.e. Premium and Express Delivery, US customers HAVE to wait upto and including 2 weeks for just standard delivery. where as your standard delivery is 3-5 working days and am i correct in saying atleast 90% of your parcels arrive within atleast 3 days from you placing it?
  1. When something goes wrong with a delivery we have a delivery team who can track parcels and find out all neccersary information about it.
  1. US stock levels are completely seperate to UK stock levels, All parcels whether it be UK or US all come 'initially' from the UK warehouse (another reason why americans have to wait 2 weeks for their deliverys) and any returns in the US go back the the US warehouse.
  1. The US sale started the tuesday before the UK sale and trust me i was a part of the team staying till 1 am to take calls from the US market. from 10pm (closing time of UK callcenter) till 1 am i took a total of 6 calls and only 2 of them were for orders, the rest were enquiries. so the US didnt steal all the stock.
  1. The US customers dont have as many good offers as the british customers during the full price season.

there are more reasons why theUS had there sale first and always will have their sale first, i just hope you understand now as to why it happens like it does.

p.s. regarding the delivery times....

US customers do not have a choice of delivery, they can pay an extra few dollars to have it shipped to them quicker.

BodenBoy - Whilst I have your ear, what went wrong this season with the size 8 stock? Everything (well, the nice stuff anyway) sold out long before the sale. Do you hold fewer smaller sizes or are a large proportion of your customer base uber slim?

hahahaha if only i could. if you have ever spoken to me on the phones i think you might recognise me, my humour and rapport with customers is just the same. I get on with everyone and when i was told about this website and (sorry to say this) how alot of people were being mislead through false truths (and i know some of it was boden employees saying things), i had to register to clear a few things up and lead people onto the correct path.

regarding smaller stock, wait till next season......size 6 is coming!

but this season, somethings when ordered in (over a year ago) is very hard to predict what will and wont sell well, hence why somestock theres loads of and some which sold out weeks before the sale...

for example nearly every womens skirt, the velvet superspot was the first and fastest thing to go this season, we could of made so much more had more stock been made.

I have bought loads this season. So much of it was beautiful. But, i still wanted more! Size 8 was all gone though so did not manage to buy everything I wanted. Sadly, I still crave the favourite v neck cardi, size 8, in red (I have all the other colours bar 2). Sadly it was not to be. . I love the 'bird' fun skirt though. Thank God I got that .

next time you call in, tell the CSA, we do note down absolutely ever piece of feedback from customers whether it be good or bad. and the merchandisers and even johnnyhimself loves to read what customers say and think

Bodenboy, I hope you'll get a pay rise for working after hours like this.

I am still disgruntled re Johnny doing it with some American whippersnapper before he offered it to me. That said, I am delighted I got a hotchpotch cardi in pink for £29.50 this morning. I already have it in brown and fuck me those fools don't know what they're missing. Along with the birds skirt this was my other favourite piece this season. Can't understand why it didn't sell.
