Boden USA sale starts first and stock plummets!!!

I noticed that the USA sale had started today and was told by someone on the phone that their stock came from a seperate warehouse and the UK would be completely unaffected. However...I had been watching a few items (they were in my basket) and the gold brogue pumps were available in gold in most sizes last night and now they are totally sold out and when you check the stock it's the same on both sites.

I just can't beliebe Boden start the US sale first, what about their loyal British customers??!!

I'd be out at 8am on the school run. Johnnie changed it especially for me

SCargot · 08/12/2009 15:32

i have the black urban mac adn LOVE it - i dont know how i managed without tbh.

as if theyd come from the same warehosue you nobs

GoGoHamsterofDeath · 08/12/2009 16:27

black urban macs are allowed it is the horrific hallucinogenic ones that i object to.

Peartree15 · 08/12/2009 16:37

Calm down Boden haters! They have a warehouse in America, so surely the stock goes from there? Sending a half price top from England makes no sense at all, now does it?

If something is so popular here it has sold out, it's not that surprising that it would have sold out there too.

I think we're just getting antsy waiting for the sale.

rosieroseanna · 08/12/2009 17:27

I just spoke to someone at Boden who said that yes the stock was from the same place (I said about the sites showing the same stock levels) and she said that the reason the Americans get this perk is because apparantly they don't have the same level of service as us during the main season?!! Unbelievable!!!!!

So they favour the USA and then lie about it?

rosieroseanna · 08/12/2009 18:02

Yes

Nowtheres4 · 08/12/2009 18:05

yes very disapointed there were a few thigns i wanted to order before the sale to make sure i get them but went to check out today to find over half of them had been taken out and were now out of stock, surprise surprise just cjecked boden usa and all in the ssale, so there will be nothing left for uk customer!

SCargot · 08/12/2009 18:07

oh boplllocks DO read the thread
diffo warehouse you loon

Nowtheres4 · 08/12/2009 18:13

different things staetd in the thread! one says boden said different warehouse/stock levels, the other says same stock levels?

just seems a bit of a coincidence that so much has left the stock when the US sale starts?

I'm not a boden hater, far from it, if anythign love boden way too much .

one handed typing so apologies for speeling, but hungry 3 monh old and only time i get to mn these days

rosieroseanna · 08/12/2009 18:22

The lady said warehouse/stock levels are the same. If you look at what is in stock, out of stock and low stock it is exactly the same on each site.

OP posts:
Earthstar · 08/12/2009 19:25

if the wharehouse and stock levels are the same then the likelihood of there being 2 different wharehouses is minimal

Northernlurker · 08/12/2009 19:37

I really, really doubt that Bodenwoman in Wisconsin is having parcels sent to her from the Midlands. That would be incredibly expensive!

littledawley · 08/12/2009 19:43

Their stock levels have been so rubbish for the past two seasons anyway. There have been a few things that I wanted that sold out completely (mainly in mini-boden). Am now seriously considering ordering my spring stuff in December!! (really want the new ballet pumps for DD but she still hasn't got this season's)

this

rookiemater · 08/12/2009 19:53

10 am will have to concoct important sounding meeting which will require me to take my laptop into a meeting room for long period of time, either that or I could issue general instructions to DH who is in between jobs, don't quite know what I would end up with though.

V oddly shaped jumper Princess, will avoid

weepootle · 08/12/2009 19:55

I have no idea how it works but I don't believe they don't use our stock for the US sale... the past 2 years we've been wiped out of all the good stuff the day the US sale starts.

Kathyis12feethighandbites · 09/12/2009 10:11

I am imagining Johnnie Boden doing the deliveries himself, flying across the Atlantic in a sort of red Rupert-Bear style plane, towing mailbags full of sale stock.

TheGoatofChristmasPast · 09/12/2009 10:24

here is johnnie rowing to america, with cases of hotch potch loot, cackling as he goes

bellissima · 09/12/2009 10:48

Hmmm. that doesn't look like the JB I worked with, shockingly many moons ago....but I've just checked a couple of mini boden things I've been tracking and surprise, surprise, now suddenly sold out (unless you are two. or twelve.). Suspect won't be worth logging on by 10 am Friday, even if he has changed time for us school-runners.

pofacedandproud · 09/12/2009 10:53

Stock levels haven't been wonderful even outside the sale. I gave up on a pack of baby tights after 7 weeks and cancelled them. There was a 5 week wait on lots of items. Bit disappointed. And the sale will be disappointing, there is never anything left in a size you want.

MamaGoblin · 09/12/2009 10:57

at TheGoat!

It does seem unlikely about the identical stock levels, doesn't it?

Am also amused by Boden having a member of staff on 24/7 Mumsnet Watch!

Mumsnut · 09/12/2009 11:22

I'd guess that the US warehouse (which does exist according to Wikipedia) is stocked from the Midlands one. Rather than sending individual parcels to Wisconsin mums, they presumably send a massive container of 'picked' items from Nottingham to the US and the individual parcels are made up there. Thus reconciling the two positions.

bellissima · 09/12/2009 11:55

Yep I reckon Mumsnut is spot on. Plus there are (in addition to the beeootiful garments highlighted on here) certain higher ticket items that will be pounced on in a sale and which you might as well move to the first place to start the sale. Sadly it was those I was keeping an eye on!
