She is usually pear shaped, and thinks Johnnies designs are cutting edge and his prints are 'kooky'.

In fact she thinks she knows him.

MakemineaGandT · 23/09/2009 20:50

She lives in Surrey or Kent
Husband commutes to the City (earns well, but not megabucks)
2 children, probably called Oliver and Sophia
Orders party food from Waitrose for parties at home
Spends a lot on highlights
Children's bedrooms are in the style of Great Little Trading Company
Buys presents for friends' new babies from the White Company
Probably did riding or ballet as a child but hasn't since

Umm.....

TheBalladofGayTony · 23/09/2009 20:50

'All GPs look like the Boden catalogue has thrown up on them' snurk

i am more intrigued by 'kew' woman, does she have any friends?

CybilLiberty · 23/09/2009 20:52

I'm not sure there is a 'Kew' woman. It doesn't inspire such devotion as Boden

fishie · 23/09/2009 20:53

she eats pasta more often than she should and consequently has a big bottom.

ADifferentMe · 23/09/2009 20:54

Hf - bit close for comfort....but no horse, just a dinghy

TheBalladofGayTony · 23/09/2009 20:54

she can't be arsed going shopping and appreciates a decent website that is quick adn easy to use.

MarshaBrady · 23/09/2009 20:55

These are great especially GandT's description of children's bedrooms furniture- sums it up for me.

Ewe · 23/09/2009 20:55

Woman in (Surrey) post office today returning a big Boden package, she was small, petite, well spoken and was wearing a blazer with jeans. Shiny hair.

She looked very Boden but clearly didn't like it that much as she was sending a load back!

TheBalladofGayTony · 23/09/2009 20:56

she throws a crochet shawl over her hotch potch top when picking jemima up from steiner school in an effort to appear bohemian

TheBalladofGayTony · 23/09/2009 20:56

ewe, that was chattermouse

alana39 · 23/09/2009 21:00

Has moved to Surrey from Islington (for the schools).

Is short. Or tall and toned enough to not mind gap between top and jeans.

Might be called Tilly.

Her husband wears BodenMen but had never been surfing / isn't an architect / doesn't ponce around carrying a pile of books.

paisleyleaf · 23/09/2009 21:05

Is a Cliff Richard fan

oneofakind · 23/09/2009 21:06

ha ha! I like boden clothes but am a short, fat size 20 social worker living in inner city london with no pets (well, mice but not by choice).... oh, hang on, ds just started at private nursery ... its a slippery slope...aaaaagh - velvet camden coat here I come!!!

hf128219 · 23/09/2009 21:09

I just love the quotes in the catalogue 'Orla feels happy when wearing a rainhat'

I mean why not 'Sophie loves it up the arse on a Sunday morning before the dc's wake up'

Sooo much more interesting

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2009 21:10

Mind you, if I could afford a new Aga, then I'd wear Prada, or something similar, not Boden.

hatwoman · 23/09/2009 21:10

depends whether we're talking Boden woman in the catalogueJohnny's eyes or in rl. the former: when younger she was what Johnny would call good marriage material. clever enough but knows her position in the house - which is next to the Aga or picking up the kids from school/riding or looking pretty (but not sexy) at dinner parties. likely to produce strong healthy children.

Mimi1977 · 23/09/2009 21:12

I love this - how the fuck can Boden be aspirational?! They're just middle of the road clothes! I read a post like this before on here and it really made me laugh.

hf128219 · 23/09/2009 21:14

Everything in life can be aspirational to some.

It's a bit like the White Company.

BonsoirAnna · 23/09/2009 21:15

Franca

I went to the Paris Dries Van Noten shop this afternoon. It's nothing like as amazing as the Antwerp shop, but it's still lovely... and BonTon has got a new, slightly more dressy range/shop called Papillon pour BonTon and it is amazing. Got two tops for DD that she really doesn't need. Oh well! She won't want to wear little girl clothes for much longer

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2009 21:19

Hatwoman.
I'm getting an Anna catalogue next time, btw

hatwoman · 23/09/2009 21:22

the aspiration is nothing to do with the clothes. it's the healthy out-door nuclear family twee happiness that's aspirational. all holidays in Norfolk and snowmen and hot chocolate by the fire. all of which are actually things I do quite like (as I also quite like some boden clothes) but when I see it all being rammed down my throat as a lifestyle I should like/aspire to it makes me want to go and take class a drugs at the Torture Garden. having left my kids with the drink-addled neighbour

francagoestohollywood · 23/09/2009 21:25

Yes totally Hatwoman. Doing a class drugs in a Hotch Potch top. That's what I call rebellious.

DillyTantay · 23/09/2009 21:27
