Hello everyone, old and new.

This is about feeling better about yourself and looking and feeling better etc. But mainly we chat and laugh quite a lot, which has all got to help towards happiness etc.

The rules (anyone can join):

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine or Champagne or whatever at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Some people are doing India and Neris's Idiot Proof Diet (Atkins, more or less), others are doing Slimy World, others are just being as healthy as possible.

Welcome everyone, have a good week.

oh I will www - is just that the scans can only happen after I've been off certain meds for a bit so can't have them done immediately anyway (well can have 1 done now but not the other and am now thinking the best idea is to have everything at once)...

think I am going to book a few days off at half term so that's only 4 weeks then

what I really need is a good night's sleep - preferably a week of good nights then I will feel SO much better!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 28/09/2008 18:02

Sounds fab ureb - where did you go? The rum and raisin cheescake makes me suspect it was Pecks.

FIS - yes look after yourself. Dodgy bowels are not fun. I've had my fair share but have been much better since they got rid of a bit. Hope you can get some time off.

Weather has been lovely hasn't it? Have run a couple of times this week, plus the gym but yesterdays run was interrupted by another nosebleed. WTF is going on I don't know - although they have been worse since I fell back off the wagon so will abstain for a while and see if it helps. Otherwise it'll be a trip to the docs to have a hot poker stuck up it.

www - yesterday's diet wasn't your finest was it?

Bllleeeeeee

Crawling back on after about a week of stomach bug - me and DS - it has been the House of Doom, truly. So, naturally, bootcamping has been suspended in favour of finding anything I could eat and not throw back up again. Finally today back on have managed breakfast, and lunch largely nausea-free and my appetite is now back with a vengeance: looking forward to some strength-building pasta and pesto for tea. Alas, though, a week of being laid up means I have a GAZILLION things to do, inc a 900-word review to write for erm tomorrow, so tea may be a while in happening ...

FIS, yikes. Do take it easy and good luck with getting time off and scans and so forth. Keep us posted? And a good night's sleep sounds essential, I'd say.

WWW, at the PE pizza. Tomorrow is another bootcamp!

Hope everyone's weekends have been good. Blissful weather - long may it last.

Snaf · 29/09/2008 09:49

I have the renewed vigour and naive optimism that can only come with a Monday morning...

Weekend was a disaster, nutritionally speaking. Mucho booze consumed and the early nights went by the board, too. Went out Sat night and was still wobbling and galumphing to 80s synth-pop at 3am Sunday. Can't wait until ds is old enough to be utterly mortified by such behaviour

Back bootcamping now, I promise. No excuses.

FIS - hope things get sorted out and you get your time off - much needed by the sounds of it.

L&S - deadlines are a bugger, aren't they?!

Happy Monday, all.

Marina · 29/09/2008 10:21

Oh me too snaf although I don't think my weekend was as much fun as yours, as it involved

  1. childcare for sibling of child with badly broken wrist (not a problem, we love the little boy, he's a fab guest, but we were all quite worried about his brother and it was a houseful)

  2. ds on sleepover which left him like bear with extra sore head

  3. having to sing at the sort of church wedding where £££ had been spent on a videographer and rather OTT outfits for Best Men, but no-one even sang Jerusalem so the choir were left looking like wallies, and the happy couple gurned and giggled all the way through their vows

  4. trip to children's opera yesterday which was lovely and worth the effort but put ds at the very end of his tether

Stop my life, I want to get off

WideWebWitch · 29/09/2008 12:01

Hello everyone. L&S sorry you're feeling rough, ureb, that sounds fab, Marina, that sounds like an exhausting weekend, I'll get off with you. We can go and lie down somewhere in a caaaaalm and cool room (1 each) with the sea gently lapping at the shore outside...

FIS, iirc you share that as a fantasy! Oh, ok, re your health stuff.

Snaf, omg at dancing til 3am, you wild thing you!

saggars, well done on the running and hope nosebleeds stop soon.

I am going to tell all here and then start another thread to post today onwards, hope that's ok with everyone!

yesterday
bacon sandwich
sea bass with a herb crust, green beans
lemon cheesecake (this was a restaurant lunch)
then duck breasts for supper
wine was involved during both meals I'm afraid.

RIGHT! New thread I think!
