@JoRaRaRa @OvaHere how did you two get BT code to work?
I have ordered one, but thought I would cancel and reorder with a new account but the code does not work for me πŸ€”

I don't know. It just did. It came through via email when I set my account up a few weeks ago and I had it in my pinned emails ready to try with the advent.

I did get an email a few days back saying my welcome code would expire soon but I guess it was still good but that makes me think it's still linked to my account somehow but doesn't seem like a personalised code so I would expect it to work on all first time orders. Unless they change them up from time to time and your account isn't linked to that particular one.

Have you had a welcome email with a new account sign up code?

Please can someone explain the Liberty beauty drop system to me? If I’m thinking of the Liberty calendar for next year, does it make sense to sign up and save the credit to get the calendar next year with the credit?

Liberty charges you Β£25 every month. Β£20 of this is added as credit to your account, which you can spend on anything at Liberty.
In terms of the Beauty Drop goodies, every 3 months, Liberty ship a box to you. So each box costs Β£15. The next box is in October.

IMHO If you want the calendar and the Beauty Drop, it makes sense to sign up and save the credit. In the past few years, Liberty also gave a Β£25 discount on the calendar to Beauty Drop members. If you only want the calendar, then sign up for Beauty Drop, buy the calendar with the discount, and cancel once the 3-month minimum period is up.

You might want to think of what you'd use the credit on if you don't like the calendar's contents. Beauty Drop members also get a 10% discount on edits, which helps if you like their edits.

There's a code floating around for Β£20 for the first 3 months, which makes your first box free.

Please ask if you have any more questions, happy to help!

I feel mad, taking time off work to go get it 🀣🀣 mainly for a 30ml FDB fragrance 🀣

I don't think it's mad! You nabbed a cheap flight, which is great savings.

I have friends who have taken a day trip to Europe for the day to shop πŸ˜‚. They say that the day off is well worth it because flights and trains are cheaper, and there are fewer people in the shops. If they buy enough, they break even or save money because they can reclaim VAT at the airport or train station.

If you do go to Dublin, please share your adventures with us.

Hi @Nomorechocs , it's basically as outlined below. You pay Β£25 pm. Β£20 of that is credited to your account each month. The other Β£5 goes towards a quarterly Beauty Box. As a BD member you get 10% off edits, free delivery on orders, early access and Β£25 off the BAC.

Thank you @keepincool and @JasmineMilkTea So I could essentially see it as a payment plan for next year’s calendar - pay Β£20 a month towards the calendar for 12 months, have basically enough at the end of it and pay Β£60 over the year for 4 boxes. What sort of things are in the boxes?

XelaM · 24/09/2026 22:12

Just came out of Selfridges (aka my happy place 😊). Everything and everyone is so lovely there πŸ₯°

I went in to get my daughter's UGGs from the Sneaker ER as she was wearing them to the yard of all places and I thought they were unsalvageable. They look nice and clean again πŸ‘

Then I specifically popped over to smell this divine smell that you guys have been talking about - Lola Check Your Coat. Clearly, my palette is not refined enough as I don't get it at all. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ HOWEVER, nearby was the Initio counter and I absolutely loved their High Frequency scent. The lovely lady at the counter even gave me a free sample of it, even though I bought nothing. My birthday is coming up and I literally intend to spend it in Selfridges and maybe buy the lovely Initio scent.

I then finished off in the food hall where things were 75% off as it was nearly 10pm. πŸ˜€ Unfortunately, I then went outside and bought a Β£9 fruit pot, so I didn't really save much.

Re: Payment plan and payment for boxes - yes.

Re: Box contents- -mostly skincare, haircare, and perfume. https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/features/beauty/liberty-beauty-drop-subscription-box.html This was last month's.

Perfume ranges from mini 1.5-2ml sample vials to larger minis. Skincare and haircare is mini-sized to full-sized, depending on the product.

You can find previous boxes by googling something like 'liberty beauty drop box april 2026' for instance. Boxes are in January, April, July, and October.

If you like their perfumes and you subscribe long enough, you're almost guaranteed to get a 1.5ml of each of their perfumes at some point.

The boxes can be a bit hit and miss depending on your preferences but they are the best subscription boxes available IMO. Usually about 1 in 4 is a really good one.

Unless you're someone who buys Liberty BAC every year anyway I wouldn't join just to save for the advent. Two years in a row the advent hasn't appealed enough to me to buy despite having the vouchers. If your happy for it to also just be a savings pot to dip into when they do their edits or have a members sale then it's a nice subscription to have.

That all said I am toying with cancelling in the new year as I've had it for a couple of years now, not bought the advent and not many of the edits have spoken to me this year. Of course you know as soon as I cancel they'll start coming out with some I love. πŸ˜‚

The Boots K-beauty Advent looks good at Β£89.90

https://beauty-detective.com/boots-k-beauty-advent-calendar-2026/

Oh, thank you for posting!

Lots of trending brands - IMHO Boots are absolutely killing it. I really like that their advents are focused - skin, scent, luxe, now k-beauty. I was considering the 24 days of skin but I'll hold off to see the K-Beauty contents... and perhaps they might come up with even more.

JoRaRaRa · 24/09/2026 22:32

So some people on insta are saying that the Selfridges FAC releases tomorrow. Has anyone heard this? This is turning into an expensive week 😳 Anyone know what time the BAC dropped? Didn't they send out an email the night before?

MidnightMeltdown · 24/09/2026 22:32

IlovePond · 24/09/2026 19:16

So - I went to JL today and spray tested all the JLFAC perfumes I could find.

I was thwarted a couple of times because staff had removed all the spray tops from bottles of some brands. I get that this is supposed to deter thieves, but why have testers out that can’t be tested???

Anyway, @TracyBeakerSoYeah is absolutely right - Carnal whatsit smells of bins - specifically, imo - bin lorries. It is truly truly vile. It dried down to a sweet rotting smell that was revolting.

Fireplace was much worse than I remembered - all I could smell was smoke. It was just awful on me.

One or two of the other perfumes smelt ok but it probably wasn’t sensible to spray them all over both arms on the same day!

I am so angry with myself for buying it without testing the contents out first!

Edited

I’m sure I have a small bottle of Carnal somewhere from some advent or another. I haven’t smelt it yet as I couldn’t get the lid off. Maybe I won’t bother!

OvaHere · 24/09/2026 22:33

This is what I thought too. I would like to go to Dublin as well, but I'm not sure a rushed day job is what I was thinking 🀣 I'd like to go with my husband and make a proper weekend of it. I have suggested to the husband that we do an Ireland roadtrip with the pooch next year, approximately around the week commencing 4th October. Obviously nothing to do with the advent calendar 🀭

That sounds like a good time to go, you want to keep clear of school holidays when everywhere is busy πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

Exactly, and it'll be all beautiful with the leaves changing colour. Plus our wedding anniversary is the 4th Oct. I think I could potentially take over some ACs or FACs to our Irish friends too πŸ₯°

The Dyson hair serum was in an AC last year (Spacenk's maybe?), I've not used it yet. Has anyone used it and can recommend? I think this calendar is only worth it if you're planning to buy this anyway. Which maybe I am.... πŸ€”
