So these trips to Ireland: what the official excuse: do you style it out as a short break, pretend it us a work trip, do you tell family/friends the real reason for travelling or you say nothing and nobody knows anything?
I admire the commitment and love reading all the updates from everyone. Very useful reviews on here of various individual products.

@Branster well it was only me who was going to go, but I've now ordered it to parcel flow and hoping that way works 🤞🏻
If I did go to Dublin, my husband already knows about it. But as I was planning to go on a work day, I wasn't going to tell anyone else. If I told my mum, she'd want me to go on a Monday so she could go with me 🤣

Welcome to the thread @KateMossingIt - it’s a slippery slope - you will be booking flights to Dublin to buy an Irish a/c you had never previously heard of by the end of the week if you are not careful 😹

So - I went to JL today and spray tested all the JLFAC perfumes I could find.

I was thwarted a couple of times because staff had removed all the spray tops from bottles of some brands. I get that this is supposed to deter thieves, but why have testers out that can’t be tested???

Anyway, @TracyBeakerSoYeah is absolutely right - Carnal whatsit smells of bins - specifically, imo - bin lorries. It is truly truly vile. It dried down to a sweet rotting smell that was revolting.

Fireplace was much worse than I remembered - all I could smell was smoke. It was just awful on me.

One or two of the other perfumes smelt ok but it probably wasn’t sensible to spray them all over both arms on the same day!

I am so angry with myself for buying it without testing the contents out first!

Did you buy anything/ sort the jlfac issue?

@26inprogress -I asked the assistant on the till at JL if I would be able to return the FAC. She wasn’t convinced this would be possible. I said - what if I just bring the whole parcel from home unopened and open it in front of the staff?

She thought this might work but wasn’t sure, because I might have just sellotaped the box up again after opening it 🙀

On a related note:

They are not selling the FAC in-store so my earlier plan of returning it then buying another one to get the £10 discount wouldn’t work. I also think they would be unlikely to let me ‘buy back’ the one I had just handed over.

I am debating keeping it and attempting to offload the Carnal, the MM and probably the Memo on eBay after Xmas. (Can’t do it now as I am off eBay atm due to wanting to stay under 30 sales.)

Even as I type this, I realise that it’s ridiculous to try to offload 3/12 doors, especially as I will only get a few quid for the above.

Meanwhile, the niche beast itself turned up whilst I was out and is currently sitting unopened in the hallway.

I will sleep on it and then decide whether to try to return it, (I really should!)

After a rubbish day in work, I reached in my bag to freshen up and grabbed the mini perfume lurking in there, which just happened to be FDB sirene. I decided that it’s not so crazy after all to take a trip to Dublin just to fetch a BAC. I decided if others were going that made it more acceptable. Now everyone has gone for delivery 😅

DS did remind me that I have CB as well as Harrods, which I’d forgotten about. But technically I’m still way behind on last years haul 🤣

And surely you need to go and visit dsis in her new home 🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought I was no where near last year's total too, but I've bought HFAC, HBAC, CB, Sephora, Revolve and now BT.

I ordered the LF bac on 1st September and it’s still showing as pending on my account, so decided to chase it up.
I’ve been told they are starting dispatch on 2nd October and hope to have all orders delivered by 1st December 😳.

Did you sign up for emails? I did it via the website and had it set to NI. It took a few attempts but it eventually accepted it and then it took a while for the payment to go through. I was a bit worried that I was putting multiple orders through 🙈

Please can someone explain the Liberty beauty drop system to me? If I’m thinking of the Liberty calendar for next year, does it make sense to sign up and save the credit to get the calendar next year with the credit?

This is what I thought too. I would like to go to Dublin as well, but I'm not sure a rushed day job is what I was thinking 🤣 I'd like to go with my husband and make a proper weekend of it. I have suggested to the husband that we do an Ireland roadtrip with the pooch next year, approximately around the week commencing 4th October. Obviously nothing to do with the advent calendar 🤭
