I’ve had a look at my JL FAC order and there is no option to cancel. Unless the a/c arrives sealed I don’t think JL will let me return it, (which is fair enough, given the contents).

I am so annoyed with myself for not waiting until this morning to see if there would be any suitable rewards in my account 🙈 I could have saved £10!

This is the sort of mistake that really bothers me and has totally taken the shine off my purchase 😿

I suppose I could not unpack the box when it arrives and take it back and unpack at the JL counter in front of staff. That MIGHT work, but would the a/c still be in stock at that point and would I get my £40 gift card back 🤷‍♀️

It's only a tenner @IlovePond , don't let it spoil your enjoyment of having secured the FAC. You might find you need something else from JL at more than £100 and the 10% off will be more beneficial then.

Why do I have the JL FAC in a basket? I'm not sure I want most of those scents yet £99 is really good value.

I know you are right @owlpassport (I really mustn’t spend another £100 at JL, though!)

Can you shift the ones you don't want? It is excellent value surprised it's not sold out.

It's annoying @IlovePond I did the same yesterday with the Sephora exclusive HG Love palette. I was so worried it would sell out I bought it on my phone whilst out. Only to realise when I got home I could have used BD code and got £14.10 off.

I did use £25 of vouchers so not all bad but the extra discount would have made it almost half price. If I returned and tried to get my vouchers reinstated it would be too much hassle and it probably would sell out whilst doing that so I'm choosing to be zen about it and let it go.

Yeah I was thinking I could add some to DS's advent.

I'm also sitting looking at it despite having decided yesterday I don't want it. In the spirit of deinfluencing, £100 might seem a good price in comparison to what we're used to spending on ACs, but it's still a chunk of money. You don't need the scents, and if it's a case of curiosity (as it is with me) you can try the scents in stores. If you know for sure you like at least three of the scents however, it might be worth it.

When I placed my order last night I had an option to cancel (I checked before posting it as an option) so it might be too much time has passed now. Worth remembering if it happens again though!

I managed to sell 3 out of the JLFAC i did not wnt and made back half the price of the calendar. Made me feel better about having a second calendar

It is really good value, the value JL have stated is based on the 100ml cost but is worth more as you can buy some in the travel size and they have a standalone retail value.
The Nishane is gorgeous and worthy of buying just for that - or at least that’s my logic for buying a second one

I am going to try to test some of the JL FAC fragrances in-store before opening my calendar. If there are any I absolutely loathe, (extremely likely), I will shove them on eBay in January for my usual fiver 😹

I don’t mind the Fireplace and am reasonably confident that I will be able to use the JO LOVES and the Kilian. So that’s three out of 13 😹

I also quite like the idea that the perfumes are all small sizes as I have so much stuff already, (plus have already created my own DIY FAC!)

I am even thinking I might save it for Xmas 27.

I've gone for it too. Unfortunately JL never give me beauty offers or rewards so no discount here, but I like the sound of the fragrances. Plus it has the FM sex in a bin one (thanks for that @TracyBeakerSoYeah 😂), which came with last year's HN FAC. I still can't get the bloody lid off mine, despite trying WD40, plyers and hot water.

I did spot an ad offering a £50 JL voucher if you sign up for their credit card, so I've done that, with the intention of cancelling the card once I've received the voucher.

Are all the perfumes in the JL FAC available to test in JL?

I know that MM, Jo Loves and Kilian are, but I have never seen the others in my nearest shop.

Last year was my first year on here but not with advents. I went completely ott but loved it. Beware of the reductions later on.
I went ott with the edits as well.
Id forgot what id bought and i bought bits off vinted,etc and then realised I had it from an advent or edit already. 🤷🤣😍

Re: the JL CC offer - you need to spend £250 on the card in the first 45 days to get the £50 voucher - which I will be doing anyway.

Frederic Malle isn’t available in at least one store (White City) because I’ve tried to test it there before. From memory, SpaceNK had it.

Shiseido are doing two calendars this year.

I know I was extremely scathing about the size of the products in my 2024 a/c but in hindsight, I think I was a bit unfair: I got a really good reduction on it, some products looked smaller than they actually were due to tiny containers and I really loved using the contents!

I think that Shiseido and Rituals are the only one brand calendars I would consider buying nowadays.

Morning all. Has anyone ever had a Birchbox BAC? Or any of their boxes? I see them pop up every now and again, but the pictures and site have a whiff of T*mu about them 😬

ETA: most sites do have an odd / similar look to me now, so I’m not singling BB out. I think it’s likely my age and I’m just a bit of a dinosaur. I can’t do the new outlook at work for example. Feels like been transported into a cartoon world!

@IlovePond the JL BAC arrived in several layers of packaging. And JL are good about returns. Pretty sure you’d have no problem. The gift card gets returned by email - my experience is you should keep a record of the codes when you receive them as the links stop working very soon.

@mooshkymoo I really liked the Birchbox sunscreen I received in a couple of edits this summer if that helps?

Mmm- I think I need to be ‘done’ now with a/cs for 2026. Not just because of the money, but also because I already have so much stuff and it seems wrong to get any more.

I have ordered:

SK products that DH is going to put into an empty a/c for me as a Kbeauty calendar - got a good discount
JLFAC - got £40 off due to gift card

But I also have my refilled Liberty, refilled Clarins 12 day as a FAC and the Soap & Glory 2025 a/c that I got half price in the Boots sale.

I feel bad now I have written it all down, as it is a lot. (I think I will share my S&G a/c with people from work and my friend.)
