Yes. If a brown lip is anything like Clinique Black Honey (which I was duped into buying by the S&B boards years ago), then I'll end up with a mouth that looks like a dog's bottom. Not a great look... I'd even prefer crypt keeper to that!

I love Black Honey but that made me laugh 😀

I think the rust brown colour would suit most people who have a warm skin tone. Not me though as I’m cool tone. I wish they would do separate calendars for warm tones and cool tones!

I really think this would be the next big thing for companies to latch onto for next year to make them stand out. There honestly is such a difference between being cool/warm toned. I sometimes can’t get over how good some of the lip colours that are wick on me look on my warm toned ginger haired sister x

Yes I’ve said before that I think they need to offer two versions of calendars when they’re including make-up, especially when you’re paying so much.

I feel the same about Black Honey. I was a big magazine reader years ago (remember the days of decent free beauty products on the covers when magazines were cheap?!) and it was sold in those as being a universal colour. It’s really not - it looks awful on me!

I was debating selfridges AC but went to store last night after a day in the London office and wasn’t that impressed. Didn’t help that the staff all stood around chatting to each other had no idea about any of the contents or where I could find them in store to check them out! I was like benny hill going round in circles trying to find everything!

Lola at the coatcheck is not for me which is a big decision factor. Marc Jacob’s eyeshadow too dark and I didn’t like the texture. I did like the Burberry lipstick so will just buy that a few other bits from Vinted.

I can’t remember if I read it here or on the general beauty thread that someone had picked up a great edit from store. I couldn’t find one and staff didn’t know of one (not that that is a great indicator based on my experience!). They did have a K beauty one though. I think some of us from this thread would be wayyy better staff members!

hi I’m debating whether to buy the Westman atlier foundation drops but I’m not sure what shade. Findation says one shade which I think will be too dark and chat gp a different shade. Also it is ok for mature (in my 40s) combination skin. Any advice welcome please

I am ordering from the independent pet shop this year to make doubly sure my dogs are sorted. They would, in fact, be beyond pleased with whatever I can find in a main supermarket on 23rd December. They don’t care!

You can shade match on the wa website. But I wouldn't recommend, the bottle is hard work and it's not easy to get any product out (in my experience). I ended up complaining to Harrods and getting a refund. I also got the tinted drops from liberty and only used once as it's the same issue with the bottle. I think I've read somewhere that they're redesigning the bottles. I did buy the new foundation in the 20% off Spacenk yesterday, that's in a different style bottle so I'm excited for that 😀

De-lurking to say hi - I read bits of this thread in the lead to last year's Christmas, and it helped me decide on the Liberty BAC, so thank you to everyone posting!

Has anyone gotten a calendar mostly for a few expensive products?

Now that most calendars have been revealed, I'm thinking of the Harrods one because I fell in love with the AB Rich Eye Cream from Liberty BAC last year, and it's so pricey at £170! Haven't seen it in any other edits/kits over the year.

I'm picky about makeup and perfume so won't use any of those, annoyingly, but I've wanted to try the Medik8 C-Tetra and Tatcha Dewy Cream. Priced those 3 out on SpaceNK - it's £268 full price and £228.80 after discounts on the eye cream and the tatcha. Could probably use the rest of the skincare. The Harrods calendar is £270.

Checked Vinted, but a lot of the Rich Eye Cream sellers seem suspicious - sellers with zero reviews and similar photos, so I am nervous about purchasing there.

@JasmineMilkTea - I like the Harrods a/c myself, but wouldn’t buy it just for a few products.

Re: buying from eBay/Vinted

The trouble with buying the AB eye cream on Vinted/eBay imo, is that it came unboxed in last year’s Liberty and it was therefore impossible to tell if it had been opened. I think it’s the same with this year’s one in Harrods.

I only buy from sellers who have posted other things from the same calendar at the same time and have good reviews. This helps, but can’t eliminate all issues.

I’ll give a new thread a go! Bear with and I’ll do it now!
