Shiny new thread just in time for the new season - I'm thinking smoky, spicy gourmands as we head through autumn.

Old thread here

I’ve gone for YSL Rive Gauche today. An old old favourite! But goodness me it’s strong! I don’t recall it being like this when I was 17!

As to storage, I have a tray on my chest of drawers and a plastic box with a lid for minis. I have far too much and can’t ever really choose properly. I did the 4160 Tuesdays January Joy Box a few times so have 30 samples from that alone. Plus lots of others that a friend gave me.

I need to think about maybe selling some off…

What do tou think of BDK Rouge Smoking

I like it. The original is lighter and sweeter, the extrait a bit more boozy and deep. I'd buy a 10ml of the extrait if I could.

Layered the cherry stem with MFK Kurky and it's a layering win! Kurky is a sweet , light, fruity one so I now smell like a fruit salad - but a nice one.

Has any of you tried Phlur missing person? If so does it last on you? I feel like I love the scent but can never smell it on myself x

MiaN · 22/09/2026 15:39

Tested and later bought few zara cheapies- cocoa sunset and it's winter edition cocoa sunset cozy blanket. The first reminds me of amber vanille, the second is similar but to my nose have a hint of coffee- not in the notes.

It lasts really well on me but it doesn’t have huge projection

IDontHateRainbows · 22/09/2026 19:04

Tried father figure again and it's definitely not for me. Does anyone want it? About 4/5 left of the 9.5ml travel size. Free, just cover postage costs
I'm sure some people love it but its a bit too powdery for me and not figgy enough

Maybe that’s what it is but I do love it. I getting very addicted to certain scents and stick with them for ages. It’s a beautiful scent x

Well it’s nearly 12 hours later and Rive Gauche is still going strong!

What a stayer it is!

Sotd Jo Malone Tonka & Myrrh
I think i overplayed. I like it but prefer citrus and floral.
Ive been meaning to add my sotd but I sit at night to do it and forget what ive used. 🤣
Today I remembered as big bottle. Others recently have been minis im trying to use up. X

IDontHateRainbows · 22/09/2026 21:21

SOTE is commodity milk. This is a fine lactonic scent - one of those easy, how-can-anyone-not-like-it type scents, very suitable for bedtime.

Remaining.on the milk theme also tried golden milk from the harrods. This one seems quite polarizing with mixed reviews but hey trying new things is what these ACs all about, right?

It's very oud-y but I think i like it! Gotta wait for it to dry down it is intense at first but mellows . After some reviews I was expecting not to like it so am pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for this. It gives me hope. I've not yet tried mine and had thought about listing it, but I'll give it a go ☺️ I'll be starting to open mine soon, when it gets to 12 weeks before Christmas week 💃🏻 I plan to open it every Monday and if I get hold of the sfac, that one every Thursday, depending on when it releases and when it's dispatched of course 🥰

paristotokyo · 23/09/2026 04:22

JHAG not a perfume this morning as I just want to smell ‘good’, not like I’ve got any fragrance on. Swimming later so EA green tea after shower (makes me so happy!) and then this evening I’ll maybe test something from the travel/samples I have. I’m going to organise my fragrances later as I did a huge sort out of skincare/make up yesterday. I love the ritual of organsing it all.

If you don't like it I would probably be up for a swap of something.

I wasn't expecting to like it. Definitely don't judge on first sniff, needs time to settle.

I must really like the golden milk as ive put it on again to wear for work. Hopefully its not too strong, I'm probably nose blind!

Would describe it as commodity milk meets oud for greatness, not encountered milk+ oud before but for me it works. I know other people haven't liked it tho and described as sour milk.

Strange how different we all are!

It’s good job you like it as Vinted is inundated with them, at really good price! I do love a vinted bargain and have been keeping an eye for things in the calendar this year.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/09/2026 09:10

SOTD is Oakmossery by 4260 Tuesdays. It’s a very classic Chypre and reminds me of how Diorella used to smell.

Fillybuster · 23/09/2026 12:36

I got impatient and decided to jump in on my bottle of Debaser without sniffing in store first.

Def like it more than in bloom. But I don’t feel it lasts long: it’s been around 4 hours and I don’t think there’s much / any impression left.

In any event, it’s not love at first sniff, which I know is a high bar but is what I aim for usually. That said, I think I’ll wear it quite happily through autumn for work, so no loss at all.

MiaN · 23/09/2026 13:30

I ordered Sakura Snow from skins and conch of initio, xerjoff. Ella k and nishane samples. Sakura Snow is so delicate- I wish it has little more strength but such a beautiful scent I was waiting for restock for some time.

potplantsinparadise · 23/09/2026 16:17

Ffern Autumn 26 - gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. A blast of their usual hay accord to open, with herbal lavender & heather, then it's slowly turning into something more woody and tonka; maybe a little violet so hoping for some powder later. Beautiful.
