Shiny new thread just in time for the new season - I'm thinking smoky, spicy gourmands as we head through autumn.

I’m wearing Vilhelm Faces of Francis from Liberty 24, really love this one!

JoRaRaRa · 21/09/2026 10:40

I'm wearing the Bibbi from the Harrods scent tote. I'm not a big fan of bibbi scents but I'm really loving this one. It feels like a late sunshine to me so it's perfect for sunny autumn days 🧡

I love that one too. My DS really likes it. I had two travel sizes and he talked me into giving it to him.

QueefofSheena · 21/09/2026 12:30

Original Debaser for me today. I'm still in Greece and its a hot one today so it works

IDontHateRainbows · 21/09/2026 13:33

Phlur father figure. Ok but dries down a bit too powdery.

I used to love powdery scents such as La Vie est Belle and Flowerbomb but Im leaning more towards clean and fresh scents these days, flowery but light, woody etc..

I absolutely despise Bibbi. Im bummed out every time they put it in an Advent, box, edit whatever.

Same with DS & Durga.

I dont know what it is with these houses that I cannot stand. They are so offensive to my nose. Not wanting to insult anyone as people experience smells differently. Maybe its my skin

Add fugazzi for me. I am not overly keen on born to stand out either.

From the 4 brands there is one perfume I like - rose Atlantic.

EvelynBeatrice · 21/09/2026 14:55

Cra-yon Sand Service. Interesting but so far too reminiscent of an elastic band for me!!

Ah yes, another house thats not for me. I find all 3 houses very similar as well. All 3 I dislike necause of the same reasons. I find it has a strong herbal scent almost chemical and it just goes straight up the nostrils without warning. Im not good in describing perfumes. But its an instant recoil.

I have no experience with Borntostandout yet. Although the reviews of Golden Milk makes me dread trying it in the Harrods frag I bagged.

EvelynBeatrice · 21/09/2026 14:58

Yesterday’s ‘advent’ offering was Destin by Balmain. Gorgeous. If I keep liking it, full bottle time.

paristotokyo · 21/09/2026 15:12

I’ve only tried fugazzi vanilla haze and I thought my nose is broken as it smells like the worst burnt rubber smell. Does anyone else get that? It may just be the way I perceive it though it as some people like it.

I think there's often a base scent that runs through all/most of a brand's fragrances, like their base DNA, that you either like or you don't. There are a couple of aroma chemicals - particularly ISO-E and Ambroxan - that some people are particularly sensitive to that you could be picking up on as well. I just don't vibe with most Tom Ford, or Penhaligons, but a lot of people love them, and anything that's got strong projection is liable to give me a headache (so no Baccarat Rouge!) - everyone's different!

Fleecy · 21/09/2026 16:14

I'm wearing Fugazzi orange crush today and I love it! I only have one day's worth left and I shall be sad to see it go. I also like Vanilla Haze, although not at first - I really like the drydown though.

That is so true.

I always loathe Zara scents because, on me, they all turn to sourness on the skin and all smell the same. A shame because I absolutely love Waterlily Tea Dress and Fashionably London on other people.

It’s the same with Chanel - don’t like any on my skin. All Dior, on the other hand,….

RoseTeaLady · 21/09/2026 16:41

I love Vanilla Haze - am lucky I don’t get the burnt plastic with that. The Extrait, on the other hand, is a scrubber. Probably because of the Oud in it.
Which reminds me, I have an untested Vanilla Haze Extrait 8ml bottle in my collection. Free to anyone who would like it.

I'm usually the same with bibbi, but I'm glad I tried this one and didn't just chuck it on vinted. It's my current favourite 🥰 I like some Fugazzi fragrances, like angel dust and Pomegranoudh.

MiaN · 22/09/2026 06:29

Liberty has nailed 👌 summer. Both Maze and Adelphi skin are fantastic. I may consider getting Liberty membership later to get bigger size bottles before next sunny vacation.

Fillybuster · 22/09/2026 07:34

SOTD yesterday was Debaser in Bloom again. Have decided the dry down is way too sweet for me, so probably jumped the gun a bit with my bottle purchase!

Still keen to test Debaser, in the hope that is less sweet, as I have a bottle of that waiting too.

Undecided on today’s mood.

paristotokyo · 22/09/2026 08:39

Testing lilyphéa again today. Confirmed it’s not a fs buy for me. It’s not a love. Good for my wallet as trying to be more mindful.

IDontHateRainbows · 22/09/2026 08:44

Feeling cherry today so it's cherry stem by phlur. One of the few phlurs I rate - I haven't got on with many of them. Honeymoon was too sweet, father figure too powdery. This is nice.

I also ordered the new fugazzi, Cloudh 9. I found fugazzi quite a brash, loud dna but more recently got along with vanilla haze and pomegranoudh. This one sounds nice.

SOTD : Escentric Molecules Cologne One.
intial impression: fresh gin. Not unpleasant but very heavy on the juniper!

Completely disappeared after about 2 hours. Not a hint remaining.

I’ve got a 7.5ml bottle of the +Iris from an advent. How similar / different is that? Should I try or just sell based on this?

tretaddict · 22/09/2026 11:54

Sabrina - sweet tooth SOTD. Nearly emptied this!
