Some nice pieces that do look familar. Would be tempted by the persimmon sweater but I bought the large bandana in the same colour (gorgeous) so don't think I need both. Also tempted by the truffle version of the bandana.

Other than the peacock wool wrap back in August and some knee high socks, nothing bought from this season.

I am really enjoying wearing the railroad stripe pleated skirt from the summer sale so fancy another skirt. Has anyone tried on either the slanted pleat skirt or the cord pull on skirt?

OftenOrange · 23/10/2026 00:57

@CakeAndJazz The Sturlini Danza are really elevated ballet pumps, like Repetto . They are completely flat and the leather sole looks capable of dealing with walking around town if the weather is fine. Not a sturdy shoe for long walks in the rain!
They do look worth the price because the leather is like butter and the style is contemporary elegance.
I haven’t had chance to return so will post a photo tomorrow.

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/10/2026 11:58

Gosh, I love, love, love the firework print crepe black dress, I just know I am going to buy it, perhaps next week. Also loving the patch quilting red skirt but it is pricy, but there is definitely space in my wardrobe for a red skirt, wearing the brick red tie waist dress from the sale today, always a fan of red.

Would like to try the velvet shorts on in store: thinking I am too old for them (the length) but could size up to a 14 which might bring them in longer. I already have had my eye on the blouse they have styled them with.

I love the mohair half sleeve cardigan in red too but those half sleeves don’t seem to work for me - if it is cold enough to wear a wool jumper then it’s cold enough to wear one with long sleeves or it leaves the arms somewhat exposed.

i am trying to be on a no spend but feel the firework dress and red skirt will be hard to resist!

Saurus72 · 23/10/2026 18:45

@ToastCosILoveIt I tried the firework dress on today, it’s nice fabric - on me it was mid calf length (5ft5-ish). I also tried the space dyed indigo cotton dress - lovely fabric but a bit Amish. The persimmon neat sweater was a gorgeous colour but it felt too small. I have a few other neat sweaters and they feel
lovely and snuggly but this one didn’t. I left empty handed, boo.

Does anyone follow Amanda Wakely on YouTube? She’s just published a Friday Night Fashion today about Toast, looks like they filmed in the shop by Bond St.

The new black & blue dress is beautiful, but I have nowhere to wear such a thing. I also like the navy mohair cardigan, but mohair kind of irritates me (the itch and the hairs that end up in your mouth and eyes….or maybe that’s just me). I absolutely loooooooooove the very pricey dusk donegal cashmere sweater. Despite the price, I am considering it, as I have decided against the cocoon coat given the moth situation in our house, so surely this is a bargain in comparison 🤣 I know Toast have done this kind of blend before, but have never tried it, does anyone have something in this kind of mix and has it lasted well?

We don’t have moths
But afraid of them given our new wool carpets and general beloved clothes. A friend said she had a moth problem that wouldn’t resolve until they bought parasitic wasps (sounds scary) which apparently national trust use. She said it completely solved their problems.

OftenOrange · 23/10/2026 22:25

@Saurus72 Thanks for the tip, I just watched Amanda Wakely and thoroughly enjoyed it . They certainly appreciated Toast and I’m mindful of the fact that Toast g things will get better with age , thereby reminding me to enjoy what aI have and wear it.

Saurus72 · 23/10/2026 22:36

@OftenOrange I think Amanda Wakely is very chic. I watch the Friday Night Fashion quite often because she has v different style to me and usually makes whatever she tries on look a) amazing but also b) totally like her signature style. I like getting a bit of inspiration to try different things - kicking myself for not trying the chartreuse jumper she was raving about, it looks beautiful. And yes, she was clearly impressed with fabrics and construction of Toast clothes, I feel a bit re inspired.

ScottishMouse · 23/10/2026 23:18

@hicat I have a monthly parasitic wasp subscription!! (There’s a sentence I wouldn’t have even understood a couple of years ago ago!). They are amazing and have really improved our moth situation, but there are still a few stragglers every now and then so I can never say for sure we are moth free. Plus as soon as you stop with the wasps, the moths are back. We have no carpets at all, no wool furnishings, and still they love it here. I reckon a neighbour has them (old Edinburgh flats close together) and so we’ll never be totally rid of them.

Countmeout · Yesterday 09:13

@ToastCosILoveIt if you try the shorts would love to hear about them. I am very old but would give them a go with wool tights as something just a bit different and hopefully comfortable but I’d like to know where the pleats hit as they might not be flattering on me.
The firework dress is lovely - trying to persuade myself I don’t need a dress.
This drop is certainly an improvement despite the reworking of some things.

The dip dye dress from reworn is sadly going back. It was supposed to be a 12 but either I have balloooned shockingly on my flight home or it is mislabelled. I think the latter. I would judge it as an 8 . I couldn’t get it on, thought at one point I was stuck in it 🤦‍♀️. I wear 10 or 12 or S in dresses.

@doy I am not going to London now! So, although I am sure you’ll get in fine without a ticket, there is one up for grabs which I might be able to send via DM? Or could just send a picture of it on here?

Anyway, let me know.

@Saurus72 I watched those Friday reviews with AW and the Oz lady.
Also find Amanda elegant and interesting with her styling though I would never adopt that style which is way too girlie for my taste.
I like that she sticks to her very definite style and colour preferences rather than being swayed by friend or what’s in store ( many of my own mistakes are from buying what others like!) She still makes her look relevant and interesting.
I quite often prefer the look of the other lady , more modern and quirky.
Also agree about the mohair sweater , I’m returning the red Donegal despite loving it , the dark red isn’t great on me, so may try it . The sleeves do look a bit annoyingly loose and baggy , will report back 🤓

OftenOrange · Yesterday 11:35

@CakeAndJazz Here are some photos, I sized up having read reviews , but they are too big. I am in love!

@OftenOrange @CakeAndJazz i have the Sturlini pumps but can’t really add anything if use as I haven’t worn them yet. I am 5.5 and tried 39 initially but they were too big so went for 38 which is a good fit. I have very tricky feet and could never wear these or anything similar for walking much, but I needed to have one reliable will go with anything pair of shoes for occasions that require something fancier than trainers or Blundstone boots. I was caught out last year when an event came up with no warning and vowed to be prepared next time.

ScottishMouse · Yesterday 14:01

I just received an order in the post. Thankful it came in a box as the postie left it outside in the absolute downpour, a paper bag would have been sodden.
This is the second order I have placed since the kindred gift started and none in this parcel either. 🤷‍♀️
The mohair cardi in navy is actually not quite navy, slightly petrol blue I would say. It is going back because I don’t love the colour, it is very itchy at the neck and it is not that flattering on me. I was hoping for a knit suitable for dinners and evenings out, but realised my alpaca poncho over a plain top does the same job and is both comfier and looks more interesting.
The dusk cashmere donegal sweater is amazing! Soft and not itchy, slouchy and oversized in a good way, not a-line in shape (which is a good thing for me), deep brown with blue and white flecks, neck is more interesting than a crewneck but not high, sleeves are not too long (often a problem for me), suits me and my wardrobe. The only downside is the price, so this needs some thought, but I am very tempted to keep it and ransack my wardrobe for some things to sell.

ScallopShellWalk · Yesterday 16:23

Just watched Friday night fashion. Really enjoyed it. It had me look at the green shirt, I hadn’t noticed that. Also the chartreuse jumper does look really lovely. Both trousers looked ace too. Such fun, now I want to go visit a shop.

OftenOrange · Yesterday 16:31

Despite the rain and lots of people , I managed to get a good look and try /retry quite a few things in my local store.
Sadly returned the red Orla Donegal, Sturlini ballet flats annd Annie cords . The Annie cords are coming up a lot smaller this year ,they looked good but were just too snug for comfort and the size up were definitely much too big .
I’m kind of determined to get some Toast cords and despite returning two pairs of twisted seam cords , retrying them and getting a really honest opinion from the very helpful SA. She vetoed the larger Annies and felt that the twisted seams were a better fit So I rebought them in Amber and Navy.
I threw in the lovely chartreuse mohair for good luck ….

ScallopShellWalk · Yesterday 17:03

@OftenOrange that jumper does look very lovely.
im pondering over the viscous shirt. I do t have anything made of viscous. Does it need ironed?

OftenOrange · Yesterday 17:45

@ScallopShellWalk Yes the mohair jumper is really lovely , and…completely surplus to requirements!
I shall probably keep it to bring joy and as a reward to myself for getting through a tricky year.

I’m no expert on Viscose , except it may be prone to shrinkage in wash ?

ScallopShellWalk · Yesterday 17:58

@OftenOrange Oh the jumper sounds sooo lovely. I have a mohair jumper and long cardi from last year and I love snuggling into them. I have the cardi on now, I wear it a lot. I can see the jumper being a good choice.
As perhaps opposed to the viscose shirt which I suspect will feel cold. Hmm not sure. It’s all fine imagining a nice shirt but in reality it is cold right now and I’m not sure how much I would actually wear it. Or it would be hiding under a jumper. Maybe a tank would be nice with it. I don’t iron unless I have to and try not to buy anything that needs an iron. I’ll hold off. I’m always on the look out for a nice shirt that won’t bulk up under a jumper.

OftenOrange · Yesterday 18:27

A mohair cardi sounds gorgeous , I think I remember loving it .
I’ve a couple of mohair Toast jumpers ,the navy one is about 7 yrs old , they are both as good as new . They have a small polyester content which makes washing really easy.
This new one is all wool and alpaca .
Apart from the 🥵price the other deterrent is where on earth I can keep it without it getting crushed ….

ShadowViolet · Yesterday 18:37

@ScallopShellWalk the best way to deal with viscose is to reshape it whilst damp, I just give it a gentle shake before drying on a hanger. That way it shouldn’t need much, if any ironing.

Main challenge with viscose is that it absorbs a lot of water when wet, so you want to make sure the shape of the garment doesn’t end up being distorted. I’d happily use this ‘method’ for a shirt, but would be more cautious with a dress due to the weight.

To iron viscose, you want a relatively cool iron and iron the garment inside out and/or use an ironing cloth.

ScallopShellWalk · Yesterday 19:22

@ShadowViolet thank you. That is encouraging. I think I could handle that. It’s how I dry most of my clothes. I might try a viscose shirt.

@OftenOrange for my recent knit purchases I cleared a deep drawer for them. 2 mohair knits one on top of the another, nothing more or heavy on them. All soft and fluffy.

oh it’s alpaca! Just checked and ha actually so is mine. Don’t know where the mohair idea came from.

ScallopShellWalk · Yesterday 19:29

@OftenOrange Actually I do know where the idea of mohair is from, it’s the rounded jumper in the new season that I like. I must have had the idea that is the one you had. But if I’m totally honest I like all of the wool knits.

OftenOrange · Yesterday 20:00

@ScallopShellWalk My mistake, I bought the rounded mohair , it’s mohair, wool and cotton. no alpaca ! That’s the similar jumper from 4 yrs ago I have already
BTW Your name on here is very evocative !
Any tips on storing gratefully received….or I need to cull existing. The prices on EBay are so high, do people pay £190 for worn jumpers?
