Hi,
As promised, here is the new thread.

All are welcome to chat about Toastie topics, (and other related things!)

@faustina yes they def do seem like a bargain. That’s also the toast reworn appeal for me, especially if they are unworn.

I don’t know if I will get a gift with each order, I can’t even open my account on the toast website. Last kindred gift, the notebook, I did get one with a few of the orders but not all. I’d like to of course.

IlovePond · 15/10/2026 13:46

@mizu - I was wondering the same and rang KC the other day and was told ‘no upcoming sample sale’. However, I know that sometimes staff aren’t told until the last minute, so 🤷‍♀️

They had the last one at Llandeilo so I suppose it would be worth asking them as well.

I wish Toast would be a bit more open/upfront about sample sales. Head Office must know when/where they are holding them - why is it such a secret?

Edited to say: I just rang Llandeilo and they said no as well. However, the last time I rang and spoke to Llandeilo and got a ‘no’, there was a sale held there a week later.

I think staff get very little notice of sample sales - it’s all very odd!

@faustina no additional gifts in any reworn parcel so far, except the first full price one.

faustina · 15/10/2026 16:02

ah well - I suppose you only want one (of the mystery gift) really!

ScallopShellWalk · 15/10/2026 16:35

@faustina yes, I feel greedy enough. 😆

IlovePond · 16/10/2026 09:35

Did anyone on here- apart from me - go to last night’s Shoreditch Circle?

Toast had collapsed two or three Circle events into one and provided some ‘seed’ stock following complaints about how truly terrible the previous Shoreditch event had been.

It was very well-attended and a bit of a bunfight tbh, although good-natured. It was good to see so many people there.

The only issue was that a lot of attendees arrived with loads of tickets from previous events, (due to not being able to find anything to suit), and little to no things to swap. They were able to swoop in and get lots of lovely stuff whilst the rest of us were waiting to hand over our things.

This meant that I kept seeing other people’s hauls and going: ‘Ooh, that’s nice!’ whilst still finding it a bit difficult to find anything to suit.

Tbf - some of those people had been sitting on tickets for ages so it was nice to see them finally getting some good stuff.

Hmm i ordered an enamel dish but no mention of the kindred gift… is it like last time where we received one without it being mentioned? (Had my eye on it a while, the brown speckled one).

IlovePond · 16/10/2026 10:18

@hicat - it didn’t show up on my original order, but was on the confirmation email.

I suspect it will arrive with your order, but if not you could call CS.

ScallopShellWalk · 16/10/2026 10:21

@IlovePond that sounds awfully disappointing. You’d think they’d be aware of that and do something about it to make it worth your while going. They need to get more stock in for the numbers arriving.

IlovePond · 16/10/2026 10:37

@ScallopShellWalk - I agree - I was there at the start when Toast staff put out the ‘seed’ stock and it was still only two rails of items.

I remember the glory days of going to Circles in Richmond with several large and packed rails of clothes available BEFORE customers even arrived with their own swaps. Toast really do need to stop sending all the good Circle stuff off to Reworn, (or whatever they ARE doing), and keep some quality items in a range of sizes for Circle if these events are going to continue and thrive.

However, it was still an HUGE improvement on last time, mainly because loads of people turned up and some had brought some lovely things.

I am very very happy with one dress I got. I also picked up another one just because I don’t like holding on to tickets. (This was probably silly of me, given what I just said in my previous post about ticket holders being able to go ‘shopping’ straightaway 😹)

Wondering what to do here, I send a sale purchase back to toast, dropped off at the P.O on 7th October. Just checked the tracking and it’s showing as nothing since then? No movement at all. Should I contact toast or Royal Mail? I feel like even if it’s not being tracked it should have gotten back to toast by now.

ScottishMouse · 16/10/2026 13:18

@Doritochaser i would probably contact Toast in the first instance with your tracking number and see what they say. Fingers crossed it turns up quickly. I once had a return parcel go missing and Toast refunded anyway as I had proof that I had posted it. I’m not sure how long I had to wait for that though, as it was a really long time ago now.

ScottishMouse · 16/10/2026 13:21

I’ve just watched the knitwear live. These recent lives are so short and seem next to pointless really. I’d prefer to see some more styling on Instagram instead (bring back the local instagrams!!!) I love the wrap cardigan on the model and am now wondering if sizing up was the right thing to do. It looks so lovely and neat on the model, but then again she is much slimmer than me and has less of a bust, so I will never get it to look like that on me anyway.
On my way to work this morning I spotted someone in the new boiled wool
cocoon coat. I hadn’t paid it much attention as I thought the colour might be a bit bland on me and the collar too high, but it looked fabulous. I nearly bought the navy conservatoire coat last year but then thought I cannot buy a wool coat as we have moth issues, is there a good way to keep one safe - my knitwear all goes into Ikea ziplock food bags but that won’t work for a coat.

IlovePond · 16/10/2026 13:29

I just watched it too @ScottishMouse

I can’t get on at all with all these cropped boxy jumpers and raglan sleeves don’t agree with me either 😿 I might try the brown one at some point as it looked a bit longer on the live.

I have already tried the grey jumper and it looked dreadful. I am 5’4” but it only came to my waist, which does not suit me at all. It’s beautiful but the style is all wrong for me.

I really like the grey scarf in the same wool. I wish it was available in different colours, though.

Doritochaser · 16/10/2026 13:34

@ScottishMouse great thank you I’ll email them today :)

Doritochaser · 16/10/2026 13:36

@IlovePond ah nooo body dropped and raglan sleeve are my jumpers of choice! I’m sure the trend will change and hopefully they’ll stock jumpers more your forte. Siskin at Mamaowl do really nice jumpers too, I’m sure I saw some longer ones on the website recently.

IlovePond · 16/10/2026 13:42

Thanks for the tip @Doritochaser

I don’t actually need any more jumpers, but I am so sick of seeing nice ones on Toast that I can’t wear.

I really can’t stress enough how absolutely awful cropped/short jumpers look on me - add in a raglan sleeve and it becomes a crime against the senses 😹

I don’t understand why Toast become obsessed with one style/cut of a particular item of clothing and then don’t move on from it for years! It would be far more sensible to have a range of styles as I can’t be the only one who has been unable to buy Toast jumpers for the last few seasons!

I am cheering myself up by wearing my bargain blue flecky Toast coatigan from the Ukraine pop up! £40, in perfect condition and I love it!

ScottishMouse · 16/10/2026 14:03

@IlovePond i know what you mean. For me cropped length and raglan sleeves are good. But the a-line shape that Toast are so fond of - Orla sweater, linen/cotton sweater, sooooo many tops - is awful on me, which makes me sad as I would love one of the cotton/linen sweaters for spring/early autumn.

faustina · 16/10/2026 14:17

I think they have got two donegal jumpers this season which are longer than the Orlas? These ones:

Shame you don't like raglan sleeves though @IlovePond - I love them!

My alpaca socks arrived this morning and they're great and will be perfect for extending the wearability of my vibae romas. I like my Kindred gift too, which is a nicer colour than I thought it might be. Not sure I needed a third copy of their magazine though

Currently in a very Toast-like tussle with Marks and Spencer jeans which I've never bought before. I have three pairs in different colours all exactly the same size and length on the label and yet each pair is a different length in reality. So it's not just Toast - Grr

@hicat - I think once you have proof you dropped your return off with Toast's own return label, then it's their responsibility. They'll be able to see from the tracking that it's nowhere and should refund you if you nudge them - good luck!

Gelsomino · 16/10/2026 16:17

Anyone for renewed dress at 1.2K ?😳

Doy · 16/10/2026 16:23

@IlovePondi wish I’d known about the Shoreditch event - I would definitely have gone and taken my many vouchers (although I do usually take something to swap as well). I’ve just checked the website and they’ve got one at Notting Hill next Sunday which they are saying is sold out. I’m going to go though because there never seem to be that many people at these things and they don’t check for tickets.

Gelsomino · 16/10/2026 17:18

The Toast live was very short
Although I didnt think those jumpers were particularly cropped??
Seems like Donegal is the go to now because its inexpensive and easy to make

ScottishMouse · 16/10/2026 17:24

I placed an order yesterday which has been dispatched but no mention of a kindred gift in the dispatch email. I did use the harper try before you buy service so maybe that doesn’t get you a kindred gift. I’m not too worried if I don’t, and will report back when it arrives (maybe tomorrow?).
I’ve ordered some hats and scarves, it’s finally getting chilly up here. I won’t keep all, but am hoping for at least one good hat as I have decided to grow out my half inch long hair that I have had like this since lockdown, so I’ll be needing to hide my head for a while 🤣

Doritochaser · 16/10/2026 18:41

Contacted the toast chat thing about my missing return parcel and they issued an immediate refund. Really good customer service and I hope they do eventually get ir from Royal Mail!

its new so I’m doubtful anyone has them yet, but am eyeing up the brown Tretorn clog boots. Has my favourite combo of ugly and practical. Anyone bought them?

faustina · 16/10/2026 19:23

@Doritochaser - ah -- it was you. Very glad it got sorted out!

I wonder what they've done to the £££ renewed dress? Off to see!
