Oh that’s a worry @triggers34 I wonder if we have been kicked out of kindred 🤔 Let me know what you find out.
I just looked for my kindred renewal to double check I did get one, and it says my free post pass expires two years after the email. Is that new? I thought it was usually just one year.
Anyhow, a bit mysterious @triggers34, let’s hope it gets sorted.

triggers34 · 17/10/2026 15:47

It will be the shortest membership if I’ve been kicked out as I was only invited this year, just after I’d bought a post pass . They’ve forwarded my email to the marketing team .
I received my invite via post , no emails at all about it . Does anything else happen with Kinderd I’ve never been invited to any events but as I don’t live near any shops that doesn’t matter. Do you get magazines ?

ScallopShellWalk · 17/10/2026 16:57

@triggers34 oh what a sad affair that they haven’t connected the kindred to your email. Is it mentioned on your account? I also get emails with kindred invites.

ScallopShellWalk · 17/10/2026 16:58

@faustina boots today have been ace. I’m very happy with them.

ScallopShellWalk · 17/10/2026 16:58

@ScottishMouse there might be a nice dye for an ecru colour?

IlovePond · 17/10/2026 17:58

@triggers34 - Kindred members do get the occasional email invite to special events, plus early sale access.

@ScottishMouse - I got a postcard saying Welcome to Kindred and an email confirming I had been renewed for another year.

It sounds like Toast may have missed you both off the list of current members by accident - hopefully it can be resolved.

I got kindred for the first time at the end of last year or there abouts, just after I bought a postal pass. I received a postcard to let me know but I don’t see or recall an email. I still can’t see into my account so can’t tell if there’s something on there to say.

ScallopShellWalk · 18/10/2026 17:24

I cannot see anything relating to kindred in my account except passed gifts.

ScallopShellWalk · 19/10/2026 13:36

My other reworn items have arrived.
Not a good haul.
The blue collared dress is too big (and dusty like it’s been living on the floor) and the cable knit tank is sooo wide, at least 5cm each side bigger than the manos one I bought from the same year. I wondered if it was a men’s size, though my memory says it was a cardigan for the men and tank for the women. The artichoke denim skirt I really liked but it’s a seconds, the hem is twisted and I couldn’t live with it. These are already on the way back to toast.
So, the nighty is a keeper.
The cashmere jumper I’m on the fence about. I like it. However, it’s very very wide and quite short so sticks out front and back and shows skin if I lift my arms. Sounds not so great and likely will go back but it’s comfy, warm and the arms are nice and snug so it doesn’t droop along the arms. It’s a nice flecky blue colour. I’ll have a think. Anyone any comments about having a jumper like this? I do have a short jumper that I hardly wear for this reason but it’s thick, and only comes out in the cold so the short length doesn’t provide the desired warmth. This cashmere one is much finer, I could see use for this. Not sure.

faustina · 19/10/2026 16:51

Do you think the jumper might have been shrunk @ScallopShellWalk ? Was that the one you paid £30 something for? If so, I ordered a reworn cashmere/wool jumper a long time ago for a similar price and it looked really tired and bobbly. Reworn shoes and boots pricing is great and I've yet to be disappointed, but after my earlier experience I would pass on a jumper priced that low. I've had more expensive ones since, which have been brilliant and worth every penny

ScallopShellWalk · 19/10/2026 17:25

Good point @faustina £37 the jumper was. I have noticed that less recent clothes are lower in price on reworn and more risky in condition. I don’t really recognise this one. It has been worn, has a few tiny bobbles at the bottom edge but if I keep it I will address that. It is possible it has shrunk. If so perhaps on length but not width as it is so wide and the arms are long but snug so it is possible. The feel is denser than a new jumper might expect to be not a loose knit but still soft to skin. The weave structure is tight or it’s just lost its fluffy look or been combed for bobbles so it may have shrunk. For me I have a short torso so it may not be so short on me, it’s below my waist. I don’t think it looks tired and bobbly. I doesn’t necessarily look new as I’m not sure what it’s meant to look like. I’ve looked online and its shape isn’t far off that of the oral jumpers on the length and width though it’s boxy. I guess if I’m happy with the look then I’d keep it. I’m pleasantly happy enough with the condition and it’s not stretched anywhere or marked.

IlovePond · 19/10/2026 17:33

My Kindred gift arrived today - I am pleased with it.

I am less pleased with the enamel plate I bought: It’s got a fault on the surface and the underrim is very sharp. The other Toast enamel plate I have already has a smoother surface and is in perfect condition.

I would have returned it but am sucking it up because of the gift. However. I am not impressed by the lack of quality control.

@IlovePond you could consider softening the edge of your bowl with an emery board or fine sandpaper, I’ve done this before. But be aware if you expose the metal it may rust there if not dried right away after being wet.
You could also ask for a discount for the flaw, you might get a little off, it might be worth keeping then and the chat function is quick to do this.

IlovePond · 19/10/2026 18:18

I probably should have messaged Toast before taking the label off and washing it @ScallopShellWalk 🙈

I suspect they would just tell me to return it for a replacement if I contacted CS as they are still in stock. I will see how I feel tomorrow.

@IlovePond maybe it should be returned and you could order another if you felt inclined. The gift is yours.

PrincessofWills · 19/10/2026 18:56

ScottishMouse · 17/10/2026 13:08

@ScallopShellWalk thanks, my backup plan is to dye them navy or dark grey but I’m going to risk a slightly hotter wash first to see if I can lighten them any.

My experience of dyeing ecru jeans was really positive, but often the stitching thread is poly rather than cotton so it remains the original colour. Forgive me if you already know this . . .

ScottishMouse · 19/10/2026 19:19

Thanks @PrincessofWills yes, I do know this about polyester thread and it has stopped me dyeing many a thing in the past. There is a lot of thread on show on these, including around patch pockets so it would look weird if it didn’t take the dye. Realistically I will probably just try a few more washes at increasingly higher temps until I manage to shrink them and then that will be that 🤣

triggers34 · 19/10/2026 19:47

@ScallopShellWalkif you choose to keep the cashmere you could change the shape a little by blocking , that said £37 seems a lot for a second hand bobbly jumper .

I’ve got news re my membership - a telephone call ! I am a member it had just been overlooked . They said it expires in July and apologised . I mentioned I really wanted early sale access and she mentioned there would be one soon . Yay! Although I need to stop spending .

The box pleat skirt I ordered is going back , it’s lovely once ironed but I guess it will crease badly the minute I sit in it . I advise sizing down if anyone else fancies trying it .

OftenOrange · 19/10/2026 19:47

Just seen on an e mail that they are offering a sweater stone free with a knitwear purchase.
I did order the dark red Donegal but I’ll be disappointed if that’s the Kindred gift as I have plenty of delinting kit already .
also ordered the elegant looking Vibae flat pumps to try .

ScallopShellWalk · 19/10/2026 20:16

@triggers34 yes even though it’s not a lot of money for toast, £37, feels like £40 is a bit much if the jumper feels old, worn, used, maybe shrunk and bobbly 🤣.

Its not that

ScallopShellWalk · 19/10/2026 21:36

@triggers34 good news about kindred getting sorted.

ScallopShellWalk · 20/10/2026 10:47

I looked again at the reworn baby ultrafine cashmere boxy jumper again today and did a little research. I see exactly the same jumper on eBay, £100. The listing has measurements and that jumper is 3 and 1/2 inches longer than this one but other measurements same. I also see that that jumper has the knit on the outside mine in reversed with purl on the outside. Maybe it’s a seconds or since quality control seems lax maybe not. Anyway I like it enough to keep it. I may look at an attempt to stretch it but I might leave it as it is. It feels quite substantial and it’s warm.

hicat · 20/10/2026 19:47

@ScottishMouse @triggers34 i also didn’t get sent one. Mailed CS and they said they’d email the warehouse to enquire and they’d get back to me once they know more 🤔

ScottishMouse · 20/10/2026 19:58

@hicat looks like they overlooked a bunch of kindred folk. I’m not bothered as I wouldn’t have used this gift anyway, but I hope you get yours.
