My friend is a similar size and lives in those types of dresses. They really suit her and she looks amazing. Go for it but keep in mind you may need shorts for underneath. I have massive thighs and wore a dress for the first time in forever a few weeks back. I ended up with big patches of skin missing. Never again!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 27/06/2026 19:16

BTW SeaSalt is great for easy returns, if you do change your mind.

Branleuse · 27/06/2026 19:17

It looks like it would be a practical dress.

I live in Seasalt dresses. Never ironed a thing. Their returns are very straight forward too.

Have to agree with this!

Order it and try it on Op ☺️

Veronyk · 27/06/2026 19:23

If you scroll down a bit you can see customer photos of the dress. Gives a better idea of what it might look like on a non model.

CloudyWithAChanceOfCustard · 27/06/2026 19:32

I have that exact dress…it’s lovely OP. I’m a size 18 and it’s a very flattering shape on me. You’ll look and feel fabulous xx

TheCurious0range · 27/06/2026 19:41

I like sea salt for work because it's nearly all cotton, they did fantastic blue light discount during lockdown , I'd never bought from them before and now do regularly.

Besidemyselfwithworry · 27/06/2026 19:46

@Chefpig
you will look fine
I buy a lot of seasalt things (preferably in the sale) as lots of them are 100% cotton or linen and especially in this heat - I can’t stand mam made fibres!

Owly11 · 27/06/2026 19:50

I think that dress would flatter curves very well so if it suits you go for it and enjoy wearing it.

TeaBiscuitsNaptime · 27/06/2026 19:58

I love it, especially if you're dark haired. Id say go for it. You'll look lovely 🤩

DorissDaze · 27/06/2026 20:00

I'm sorry but I think it's a bit old-fashioned in not a good 'retro'
way.

I think that in larger sizes, smaller patterns look more flattering.
There's a lot of fabric too.

It depends what you want to wear it for.
As an everyday dress it's okay but in general I don't find SS attractive. They appeal to mainly my Mum's age group- mid-late 80s.

Sorry.

Crikeyalmighty · 27/06/2026 20:09

I have this in a 16 and looks good on - think it would look fine in a 22

HewasH2O · 27/06/2026 20:13

@DorissDaze Have you ever been into a branch of Seasalt? 😀

LadyRoughDiamond · 27/06/2026 20:25

I usually dislike Seasalt dresses as not my style, but I just saw that and thought how cool and light it looks. Buy it: I don’t think this is the only heatwave we’ll see this year, and a comfy cotton dress that makes you feel good will be a godsend.

DorissDaze · 27/06/2026 20:42

@DorissDaze Have you ever been into a branch of Seasalt? 😀

Yes, but what has that to do with it?
The fact all shoppers aren't all 80+? 😂

Settlersa · 27/06/2026 20:48

Looks nice and Seasalt dresses generally wash well and don’t need much ironing if any

This
they have some lovely things and it’s all really good quality

HewasH2O · 27/06/2026 20:57

I'd better tell my 88 year old Cornish mum to stop wearing her M&S and Eastex and pop down to Truro. She could go on a coach trip with her chums!

Honestly, that's quite a strange statement given the target market.

user1497787065 · 27/06/2026 21:10

I like the fabrics used by Seasalt but the styles
and fabric patterns are all so miserable.

suburburban · 27/06/2026 21:11

I’m in my 50s and buy SS, they have some nice stuff, my dd buys the odd thing, great staples

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 27/06/2026 21:15

I’ve been a size 24, and am now a 18 and love Seasalt I have loads of knitwear, tops, and bottoms, but most of their dresses don’t work for me, somehow the proportions are wrong.

If they did I’d love this dress, go for it OP if it fits you and you like it don’t spare a thought for what anyone else fits.

corblimeygvnr · 27/06/2026 21:15

I usually find that the SS dresses have the waistline at a weird level and then there is that gathered pouch of material right at the belly.

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 27/06/2026 21:18

And for those that think Seasalt is for their 80 year old mums, it isn’t, just like everything it’s a choice that we are all free to make. I like their styles and patterns and they suit my vibe and style.

RobertaFirmino · 27/06/2026 21:49

If a size 22 woman was not supposed to wear this dress then they wouldn't have made it in a size 22.

Get it ordered!

OneNewEagle · 27/06/2026 22:13

Try it see how you feel.

it’s not a style that would suit me I’m 18 and busty. A few years ago I ordered eight of their dresses to try kept only two basic sundresses as the ones I loved didn’t suit me at all. Such a shame as they have lovely patterns.
