What current fashion trends will we cringe at in 25 years? (Lighthearted, just for fun)

I was looking through old photos and had a proper ‘what the hell was I thinking?!’ moment. Things like ultra low cut jeans with embellishments, big belts, tiny sunglasses, extreme side parting etc. Some of my old outfits and haircuts aged terribly, while friends who kept things simple still looked like they belong to that era, yet somehow managed to look stylish.

It got me wondering: which current trends will make people in 2050 look at today’s photos and cringe?

I’m thinking:

• Laminated brows
• Exaggerated barrel leg trousers
• Chunky sandals with thick soles
• Puff sleeves
• French tuck

I don’t mean to diss these, I actually like some of them! I realise everything dates and nothing is truly timeless but some trends are bound to age worse than others. What other trends do you think will make us cringe in 25 years?

People tying scarfs around their hips.
wearing jumps a scarf.
those jelly fishnet shoes

Cold shoulder tops

White socks pulled up over black leggings.

Scrunch bum shorts

Yes! Thankfully they seem to already have disappeared, but I've never seen one on that looks good or flattering.

-White socks pulled up ,paired with sliders or kickers or white trainers and topped off with obscenely tight black leggings.

• ridiculous brows and trout pouts
• men in pink ultra tight trousers paired with loafers and bare feet
• huge beards.
• black taps and shower fixings in bathrooms - they are the new avocado suite of our day
• care very thing grey.

Nude leggings and matching slim tight tops or all in ones !

Mullets are back. DS wants one. I am saving him from himself. He’s not grateful.

I always called them potato tops....

The laughably massive, chunky, enormous black or animal print plastic glasses frames.

To be fair most of these things would have already been cringed at and come back round again in 25 years time. I remember being in school and you were defo getting bullied if you wore New Balance Trainers or Crocs

The giant fake eyelashes that look like someone nicked them from a car from 2012.
Turkey teeth.
Too-white teeth in general.
Someone must like these things or people wouldn’t keep paying money for them!

I love my big chunky glasses but I’ll look back on them like I now look back on Deirdre Barlow, I’m sure 😂

Tattoos in general unless you are serving in the Armed forces

Mullets were in about 3 years ago here - gone out again now (unless you are a 14 year old boy) so hang on in there if you don't want him to have one!

That’s a great point actually, glasses can instantly date a face and trends tend to swings dramatically. Maybe it’s time to try contact lenses again…

The really huge, fur lined crocs with white socks, looks ridiculous now and I doubt time will change that.
