Normally I notice when we're reaching the end to link to a new thread, so I hope all our cohort find this.

I was about to say that Edward and Sophie are in Portugal, celebrating the Treaty of Windsor, the world's oldest diplomatic alliance, I think it was signed 640 years ago.

Yes, it's very similar

Rodarte is a real step out of Kate's fashion wheelhouse, they are a a bit gothic/edgy romantic. Kate and Rooney Mara wear it a a lot. But you’d never know it from that dress though - I genuinely thought she’d been down to Alessandra Rich again…. (This style though is obviously one they have gone big for - they have the dress in loads of different colours, lengths, sleeve styles - really leaning into the 80s).

Diana did also love a polka dot in the actual 1980s - it is a design classic!

I like the dress very much. It’s a lovely colour. I like the style of the sandals but I’m not sure if I’d have gone with white. I don’t have anything against white sandals per se, but in this case they look, dare I say, a bit cheap? As does the handbag

Yes, I think I'm with you on white sandals. Maybe a taupe or stone colour might have been better.

Thanks - it's quite a departure for Sophie, and the backless look is certainly different. I think it doesn't look quite so good from the front, though, not so flattering. Plus I don't think it's a good colour on her.

I quite like the red polka dot dress and spots seem to be everywhere just now. I love the ruby earrings and necklace that she's wearing with it - I could definitely find a home for those!

I think it's the white collar and sleeve bands that give the dress an 80s look.
