Excitedly waiting on two deliveries today, next armani set + TPS essence box.

Meanwhile I'm going to be doing some spritzing and testing as wfh.

Vyrao sun Rae and the sixth are calling me.

Deliberating whether to go for another perfume experience at liberty as im in London next month with a day to myself. If they try to get me pissed again by leaving me in a booth with a whole bottle of fizz, maybe!

SOTMorning Liberty Tana Meadows. I really like this, I'm glad there was a travel size in the recent edit. It's very pretty 🥰

IDontHateRainbows · 28/05/2026 08:59

Liberty do an Ex Nihilo experience, it's £35 which is a lot but then again if I get a free bottle of fizz it's probably the cheapest way to get pissed in central london!
I enjoyed the DS and Durga experience although it backfired for Liberty as yes I if did get pissed and spend a lot on fragrance - but not there, I went back to Covent Garden where I'd become obsessed with TF Fig Erotique. Maybe this time I would get something - if they do the ex nihilo discovery set I would probably buy it.

SOTD Mary Greenwell Lemon. I think I’m going to go stock up from EBay as it’s disconned and I’ve opened my last one.

BakeOffRewatch · 28/05/2026 12:56

I’ve been consistently wearing kayali vanilla candy rock sugar 42. This is in my boots basket, anyone got a view on these sets? @OvaHere think you’ve tried a lot of Kayali? Anyone else?

Boots is doing 20% off fragrance or a third off. Not sure how they apply it, a 50ml Kayali is 1/3 off, 10ml and 100ml and sets are 20% off

Scent of the day part 8 - the friendly perfumistas will make you smell GREAT!
OvaHere · 28/05/2026 13:16

@BakeOffRewatch I like most Kayali scents and the 10ml bottle sets are a nice way to have a few different ones. Funnily enough the vanilla candy rock sugar is one of the few I don't like as much so I sold that one on.

IDontHateRainbows · 28/05/2026 13:58

Cult beauty is also doing discounts on Kayali. Personally I've gone off Kayali as a house. I had a couple of bad experiences with the oudgasm range, and I just find the other ones a bit too sweet. I used to love the vanilla 28 and pistachio but I've moved on. The only one I've rated in recent times is the santal musk.

Bobbi brown beach again, I’m living in this at the minute. Just feels right with the weather

Kayali Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar 42 does smell like cherry cough syrup. I’m sure it’ll be a season not a classic for me. The sparkling lychee and other Eden ones sound like I’d like them. The 42 gives me such a buzz. I didn’t like the oudgasm samplers, but then I don’t like Oud. The pistachio disappeared on me.

A good perfume delivery day, the tps essence box landed. Tried the lannosea, was described as having pledge vibes on fragrantica so that's all I can smell now..dries down nicely. Will keep the couleur primaire. Also maybe the Barrois sampler. Listed the rest.

The next armani box landed too. Prada d'iris is nice, powdery and clean. Not sure whether to keep the alien pulp. Probably will keep ysl glitter although it's very sweet. Good value all in all.

Sotd Lancome Libre
I have the kayali holiday set. Mauri, Maldives, etc
I really like that set. X

TragicMuse · 28/05/2026 21:31

I’ve bought another bottle of Mary Greenwell Lemon and also a vintage Ô de Lancôme. Both on eBay. Fingers crossed for the latter being the original formulation

IDontHateRainbows · 29/05/2026 08:21

SOTDs Boy Smells Coco Creme. I wasn't sure about this at first, couldn't actually smell much but today I seem less nose blind and can get something off it, it's a light but intoxicating coconut, quite beachy, I'd describe this as a summer gourmand.

Also rediscovered Oriana, which has to be my fave PDM although I've pretty much run out of the sample I had and may consider getting another one but it is more of a winter scent, it's quite heavy. Lovely though.

Bal D'Afrique. To my nose, this is the nicest scent there is.

catscatsdogs · 29/05/2026 12:58

Abel - laundry day SOTD

IDontHateRainbows · 29/05/2026 14:15

I bet @MiaN would like Laundry day if you like BDA?

SOTD Aldebaran

NotTheFreudYoureLookingFor · 29/05/2026 18:45

Don't suppose anyone has tried Tauer's Patch Absolue?

Ooh I might have to drag out my DKNY woman. The coldest scent I own!

MotherWol · 30/05/2026 08:34

As well as getting Issey Miyake for my birthday, my sister’s gift arrived - the Bibbi discovery set. This will be fun to explore!

Yesterday’s SOTD was Philosykos, and I noticed a shop in the city that now carries Abel so will go back sans kids to have a sniff in the near future.

IDontHateRainbows · 30/05/2026 09:51

SOTD Lannosea. I'm getting over the pledge association - it does start off very lemony but there's a honey note to it as it dries down. Not a love - but for some reason I keep being drawn to try it again.

I've also ordered the new Maison Margiela Replica from Notino. It's a mangoey/sandalwood one - called Chasing Sunsets. I got the 10ml but it comes with a try it first sample thing so if I hate it it can go back.

@IDontHateRainbows Lannosea is great on mornings where you struggle to get up. It's very energising. I wouldn't say I love it either but I do like the bottle and with a snoring husband and being an insomniac, I really need a boost some mornings 🤣

Summer Fridays Sunlit Vanilla for me today. I'm going into big town today, and I'm hoping the bees and wasps don't chase me if I'm not wearing a floral scent 🙈

catscatsdogs · 30/05/2026 12:10

I did indeed drag out DKNY woman
it’s the only scent I’ve ever been complimented on by men funnily, never women

I think so long as it's not banana you'll be fine! I'm too scared to wear my JHAG banana rush outside after hearing that it makes bees swarm...

Thinking to try the lannosea layered with something vanillary - maybe vanilla powder. I'm not usually that much into layering, thinking it somehow detracts from the art of the perfumer, you wouldn't get your crayloas out to scribble on top of the Mona Lisa would you... but for some reason I am curious to try this combo.
