Toast order arrived - more of the Liz Vidal coasters as I love them so much. Also a Provence tea towel which looks lovely. I get a lot of pleasure these days from using beautiful everyday objects. The Kindred notebook is nice and will be used.

Unpacked my summer clothes and have the joy of looking forward to wearing my Toast end of summer sale purchases - a pair of checked linen shorts, a pair of linen trousers and the £30 Tiered Cotton Crinkle Gauze Dress that was much discussed on our thread. The latter looks great worn as a skirt with tee shirt.

IlovePond · 25/04/2026 14:22

So glad you like that dress @Stoic123! I also wear the two I have with a tee-shirt or jumper. Probably two of my best ever Toast buys, (but I paid £60 each!) I still can’t work out why lots of people didn’t like them!

@Stoic123 I too have checked linen shorts, the tiny check. I saw them on the toast Instagram and have been looking out for them until I managed to obtain a pair. I really really like them. Today is the first day I have worn them. I can see me wearing them all summer. All other shorts/skorts may fall by the wayside.

ScallopShellWalk · 27/04/2026 13:13

@Nenya I tried these in the shop and I remember them being grey. To me a bit colourless grey so I wouldn’t say mushroom-y.

Thank you!

Are there likely to be any more sales before the end of summer?

Stoic123 · 29/04/2026 15:47

@ScallopShellWalk usually one mid-late June.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 15:51

@Stoic123 thank you.

Countmeout · 29/04/2026 16:45

Some new things today. Lots to like for me.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 17:36

I like a lot too. Some lovely dresses.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 18:42

I particularly like the white embroidered cotton voile one but I want really something to wear daily around the house. Maybe white isn’t any good for having 2 black labs and a grey cat, cooking and washing dishes. Particularly if it’s that price 🤔. I like it the most tho. Being in Scotland the sleeves would work better as it doesn’t get that hot for long really. The block print warp check one is also nice and the market fish print one.
What do others like in the new drop?

faustina · 29/04/2026 19:06

I have totally drifted away from dresses, but I love the bright blue one! Also the big basket, which, if I hadn't given up on anything new and Summery from Toast's bag selection and bought from Anthropologie instead, I'd have bought. Maybe I still will.

MsDastardley · 29/04/2026 19:08

@ScallopShellWalk I’ve ordered fish print top, so will update when it arrives. I had the same style in folk print last year and really liked that. Sold it recently as was too big. Went in about 5 minutes! I do like a a couple of the dresses, but maybe not enough to pay full price. Might try the ikat dress. Also like the poplin pleated front trousers.

Just checked my past orders, and there was a sale around 17 June. End of summer sale was 25th September.

Countmeout · 29/04/2026 19:13

I like the warp dress and shorts @ScallopShellWalk and the lightweight seersucker dress. Also interested what the short linen dress would be like on but I think it is very expensive for what it is. Sometimes pricing does not make sense, the fish dress nd the seersucker one are £155 and to my mind have more sewing in them. I know linen can be expensive but still 💁🏼‍♀️

MsDastardley · 29/04/2026 19:23

Agree about the pricing, feels random. The fish dress is only £30 more than the top! Looks like a lot more work in the dress, and of course more fabric.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 19:33

@MsDastardley I would love to hear your thoughts on the market fish top. I’m quite taken by it too.
The pleat trousers look very lovely.
Thank you for the past sale dates. Not sure I can wait. 😆

@Countmeout I too like the seersucker dress, if it had been black rather than navy that would be ideal for me. I recently bought a navy linen dress on reworn so something maybe different would have appealed more but I still like it.
I think I should go to a shop and try on a few.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 19:39

Last year I bought a very lovely strappy linen dress that cost too much really but it is very lovely. I’m almost afraid to wear it unless going out of the house (pets claws etc) but I’ve decided rather than keep it for going out, I’m going to wear it to death. That is the only way I’ll get my moneys worth. It’s mainly white with beautiful coral and shell drawn in navy.
I want a toast dress though or a nice summery light coloured skirt. I do really like white or maybe an off white.

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 19:42

@faustina the bag is really nice.

faustina · 29/04/2026 19:46

oh and I'v'e just noticed there is new Home stuff too. I want the red summer mattress and also the matching linen throw - especially the throw. I'd be pretty nervous with that mattress in the garden!

@ScallopShellWalk it's lovely because it's quite simple. Very hard to find!

Popplebop · 29/04/2026 19:49

I love the fish dress!

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 19:52

I think I’d like sleeves in a new dress. So now the ikat dress is in the running too. Thanks for drawing my attention @MsDastardley . If you try it please let me know how it is. I was less keen on the draw cords but I’m beginning to really like the dress.

Countmeout · 29/04/2026 20:00

Ooh please go to a shop@ScallopShellWalk and report back for those of us not near one. Please try on what we’ve all talked about so we have some idea of fit etc.
I love the mattress too @faustina . It looked lovely in the magazine that came with orders recently. (I have 4 now - why Toast?)
I’m not sure I could bear to put it in the garden.

faustina · 29/04/2026 20:04

@Countmeout - imagine if a bird took a shit on it!. Impossible to relax!

ScallopShellWalk · 29/04/2026 20:07

@Countmeout i will report back. It may not be soon enough for the keen beans but I will.

aha I’ve just persuaded my other half to go through to Edinburgh on Monday. Oh no though I’ve a commitment here at 330. I bet I couldn’t do it all in that time. I might try manoeuvre for Sunday 😊 😈 then I need to sway up past Toast 😂

off to look at homeware. 💨
