No gift with the shorts ordered on Saturday. I did a homeware order yesterday, no gift on the order added.

ScottishMouse · 23/04/2026 14:32

My order just arrived (paid for express delivery as going away to a wedding and hoped the skirt could be a wedding outfit option…spoiler, it’s not!).
Kindred gift included, despite not showing on my order or dispatch note. It’s nice enough, and I will use it, but definitely these are not the kindred gifts of the past.
Reworn sleeveless shirt is very unflattering on a bust so going back. Reworn robe isn’t quite the colour I was hoping, and the cotton feels a bit synthetic to the touch, not like my other robe, so that will probably go back too sadly. The new navy pleated skirt is the same as last year’s in blue and green but it somehow looks and feels like way more skirt. It makes me look like I have enormous hips and my hips are about the smallest part of me. Really unflattering and I don’t think an iron would help so sadly going back.
I have placed many orders so far this year, but all I have kept is a pair of fracap Fred sandals and the sand cotton linen twill jacket. I am sending back a much higher percentage of my orders in the last 6-12 months, I just don’t think cuts and attention to detail are what they were. ☹️

ScallopShellWalk · 23/04/2026 15:52

@ScottishMouse thats a shame that the skirt was a disappointment, it looks nice online. Also that none of the worn were a success. However all this is also very interesting. I’m quite new to toast, I have ordered quite alot recently and kept most but I think it’s because I didn’t have many clothes to begin with that I liked. I can’t say that now. However, I’m less drawn to newer items, I’ve less hunger for them thankfully as I couldn’t keep that up. Plus I know I can’t keep spending. I need to be more choosy.
I always like buying for a wedding. Maybe you’ll find something yet.

MsDastardley · 24/04/2026 06:19

If any of you are sewers, you might find a post by fabricgodmother on instagram interesting. They have suggested some patterns and fabrics inspired by Toast designs.

I am pretty good at making curtains and soft furnishings, but never been confident with clothing. Maybe something to do when I retire!

mizu · 24/04/2026 12:34

TOAST Live today is with Jenny Garcia. Hoping it’s a good one.

ScallopShellWalk · 24/04/2026 12:37

Received my kindred gift and it is lovely. I will use it and pleased to have it. Though a smidgen disappointed it wasn’t a piece of the enamelware that you all talk about receiving. 😊 might just have to buy some then.

Popplebop · 24/04/2026 13:02

My reworn parcels arrived… all the items are in great condition so no issues there but for various reasons are going back apart from the pair of Iku checked culottes which are perfect and slouchy on me and a surprise win. Kindred gift will be used but little bit meh.

Countmeout · 24/04/2026 13:24

Did anyone see the live (not live)?
Blink and you’ll miss it.
Very underwhelming. But at least no necks were hurt in the making of it!

ScallopShellWalk · 24/04/2026 13:33

A few days before lots of items were added to reworn I ordered a dark grey neat wool cashmere cardigan from reworn with 60% or so off. It’s still full price online so I wondered about it. Arriving it has some bobbling so has been used but otherwise in great condition, not misshapen nor smell or other signs of wear, just some bobbling which I addressed. Apart from one other pair of trousers, this has been the only thing on reworn that looked actually worn. Since it’s still full price online then that makes sense. I still really like it, it was on my wishlist.
Today I received brown enclosed kitty clogs from reworn, which haven’t been worn and very pleased to say they fit. So I’ve finally got a pair of clogs. Also just in time for the milder weather so I can discard my slippers.

PeonyBlush10 · 24/04/2026 17:26

@ScottishMouse how are you getting on with the Fred Fracap sandals ? I’m thinking of getting some. They look like they will go with everything. I’ll go up a size as recommended.

IlovePond · 24/04/2026 18:14

Well, good grief - the Kindred ‘gift’ arrived and I actually feel quite insulted that Toast would call it as such.

I know it’s free and I should be grateful, but imo, it’s the sort of thing that gets given away in one of the cheaper magazines that you might pick up with the weekly shop.

The only gift last year was the awful room spray, but at least that had a retail value and I am sure lots of people loved it.

When I think back to the lovely gifts of yore - the woven basket, the socks, the bandanna - this is just beneath compare!

Even DH said: ‘Is that it?’ and laughed.

Sorry - I am feeling a bit grumpy today for other reasons, and I had been looking forward to my parcel to cheer me up 😿

IlovePond · 24/04/2026 18:16

I also can’t believe I just used ‘yore’ in a sentence, (hopefully correctly 🙀)

RockaLock · 24/04/2026 18:23

Please can someone, for the benefit of those of us that were unceremoniously kicked out of kindred, say what the gift is?! It’s not a secret, surely.

I’d just like to know whether I should be feeling even more aggrieved or not!

MiracleToast · 24/04/2026 18:39

Please can you share what the gift is @IlovePond ?

ScottishMouse · 24/04/2026 18:47

@PeonyBlush10 definitely go up a size, they are indeed quite small. I haven’t actually worn mine yet as I will want to wear then without socks. Today was probably the first day I would have done that, but I have digging in the garden all day.

ScottishMouse · 24/04/2026 18:50

This is the gift. Have to agree @IlovePond, it’s a bit rubbish.

Thanks @ScottishMouse I’ll size up and give them
a go.

faustina · 24/04/2026 19:04

I quite like the gift! There's someone on the FB group who loves hers and asked to buy anyone's who doesn't want theirs.

RockaLock · 24/04/2026 19:09

Thank you @ScottishMouse. I don’t think I am particularly sorry about missing out on that gift! Just the free delivery and early sale access…

Countmeout · 24/04/2026 19:24

I love paper and notebooks for reusing and will definitely be pleased. I just hope there’s one in my parcel on Monday.

Stoic123 · 24/04/2026 20:14

Ooh - like a notebook so happy with this. The scarf, socks and garland of yore (😀) were my faves but the recent homeware items (basket, bowl, print and spray) didn't work for me.

Should receive tomorrow.

IlovePond · 24/04/2026 20:24

I’m glad some people are liking the notebook.

I’d forgotten the awful print @Stoic123 😹

AmethystMoonShine · 24/04/2026 20:37

I got the gift too. I like it, it’s split into seasons and I’ll use it for gardening notes probably.
I’d ordered some socks which are a beautiful blue colour which will be kept.
I was in the Mayfair store today and was struck by how different things look in real life compared to online. I like the very dark brown top which is new but it’s £245 and not an everyday item. Few nice shirts though.

Snowyowl78 · 25/04/2026 09:10

Has anyone tried dying the Gabis? The soft black just looks old to me, I’d really like them to be black but wondering if they’d then just revert back to washed black. Why do Toast do so many ‘washed black’ clothes?! I’ve dyed my Lydia dresses and that works quite well.

mizu · 25/04/2026 09:25

I haven’t dyed Gabis but I’ve dyed TOAST linen dresses when the washed black becomes a washed grey.
