@faustina i have the vibae tan mules. I wear them outside and I sprayed them well beforehand as ithe leather is pale and may mark easily. They are lovely, soft and comfortable. I also use leather cream on them occasionally.

Saurus72 · 26/03/2026 08:20

I have two of those superking duvet covers, both from sales a few years ago - one red stripe and one blue. I’m not exaggerating when I say they are absolutely luxurious and the best bed linen I’ve ever slept in. Really thick, soft cotton, gorgeous!

faustina · 26/03/2026 09:41

Thank you very much @clearsky - I will hunt down my Colonil and get spraying!
I can't believe I missed bedlinen as well as curtains - what a shame

ScottishMouse · 26/03/2026 14:09

I happened to walk past a shop at lunchtime today that had the Keen sandals in the window (in black). So I nipped in and tried them. Not the ugliest. But they do not work for wide feet, I couldn’t get my foot in the one on the shop floor and that was a size bigger than I am. Back to the drawing board….stoopid feet!

Stoic123 · 26/03/2026 17:35

Both my sales items have now arrived. As @weareallcats experienced, the Satin Back Crepe Dress in green arrived very creased but it is wearable and I will keep.

The Wool Cashmere Neat Sweater in Forest Marl is nicer than I expected. Have several of this style already but this colour is a particularly lovely blend of green and navy.

A good but not too extravagant sale for me.

ScallopShellWalk · 26/03/2026 17:40

@ScottishMouse shame the shoes were a no. I was in Edin today but south of princes street so not near toast but I was wearing plenty toast 😂
My sale jumper and reworn jacket are due tomorrow before I leave for my trip. Yeah!

IlovePond · 26/03/2026 18:49

My sale order arrived and has gone straight back:

Orange jumper in M - lovely colour, but too short and very scratchy material.

Black tee in M - too short and the neckline looked faulty.

Striped cotton roll neck in L - this fitted nicely and would have been perfect for under jumpers, but the very narrow stripes triggered a headache, (happens sometimes to me with certain patterns). I couldn’t have kept it in the wardrobe, which was a shame. If I ever see a plain one, I will repurchase.

Olive alpaca high neck jumper in S/M - fitted ok and was soft but the colour looked sludgy on me and it was a deeply unflattering shape for my body type - both too baggy and too short.

I wish I had ordered the black roll neck cashmere jumper instead.

Hopefully I will get my refund promptly before I have to pay my cc bill.

Lovely to hear about old walthamstow memories fellow E17ers. I am back there this weekend in the travel lodge as I have a full weekend of ballet classes at the opera house. I like to stay in the old familiar place and do miss teaching there.

sale purchases have arrived.

The red Manos jumper is a thing of beauty. So flattering and soft. The glowing red really perks my winter face up.

Navy kantha waistcoat is such a work of art. Simple but effective and warm. I already had cream and very glad navy came up again in the sale.

The myrtle blue baya cord shirt will go beautifully over dresses etc. i already had the rusty colour and get so much wear out of it.

Only the linen cushion cover to go.

mizu · 27/03/2026 07:48

@Primrosespaw manos jumper ❤️ it’s definitely a keeper then.

I’m in Cairo visiting DD1 who is on her uni year abroad here and have brought an array of old TOAST dresses with my flower mountain sandals.

ScallopShellWalk · 27/03/2026 11:48

My alpaca jumper arrived. I really like it. Pity I’m going away as I’d be wearing it now. Sadly the reworn kantha jacket, that I paid extra for faster delivery hasn’t arrived, even though Royal Mail says it would be. So I’m not going to see that now before I go. I’ll be away till 14th and the return period will be past. Maybe I should have paid the dhl delivery at £8 but I’m not going to be here tonight so arriving in the evening is no good anyway. I might see if customer services would extend the return window for me. Has anyone else managed to do that?

ScallopShellWalk · 27/03/2026 11:58

I’ve asked customer services for a few days extra on my return period. I would have been better using the standard postage that I’ve already paid for, I may have been back in time.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/03/2026 13:24

@ScallopShellWalk I hope they refunded the additional delivery cost as well.

ScallopShellWalk · 27/03/2026 16:00

Customer services extended my return window to 28 days so that was really helpful. 😊

Oh the forest marl jumper is a real favourite of mine! I bought it full price when it first came out and have worn it lots. I was wearing it yesterday. I love how soft it is and the colour goes so well with the blues, greens and browns my wardrobe consists of!

TosstTastic · 27/03/2026 18:11

I'm dithering over the forest marl jumper, are the sleeves extra long? Is this sophisticated or ill fitting?

I'm stupidly excited about my other sale order arriving tomorrow, so an unlucky jumper will be returned.

weareallcats · 27/03/2026 18:22

I have two pairs of vibae - the fisherman style and the green suede mules. I lived in the fisherman last summer - they are so
comfortable - plan to do the same this coming summer. The green suede are gorgeous too.

ScottishMouse · 27/03/2026 19:33

@TosstTastic i got the night sky version of the green jumper and the sleeves are very long. I wore it today and found the sleeves a bit annoying, but I like it enough to not worry too much about them.

ScottishMouse · 27/03/2026 19:38

I have a question about denim jackets. Has anyone tried both the denim Hal and the denim wide sleeve jackets? I sold a Hal a few years ago as it no longer fitted, but I had previously worn it so much. I love the style, but my shape has changed in a weird way and I find I have broader shoulders than I had before. I’d really like a new Hal but it feels a bit constricting on the shoulders/across the back & upper arms in what is otherwise the right size. I’m wondering if the wide sleeve denim jacket (which I like less but would still work well for an everyday spring jacket) is more generous generally or literally just has wider sleeves. Anyone have any idea? I’ll pop to a shop over the weekend and hope they have both to try. Thanks!

Stoic123 · 27/03/2026 21:58

@TosstTastic - yes, longer than normal. I'll just fold back or scrunch so not too concerned.

TosstTastic · 28/03/2026 16:12

I'm returning the lovely cashmere forest jumper. It's perfect for my imaginary lifestyle.
Keeping the roughty, toughty Donegal with diamonds. It will ring the changes in my miserable cold house.
I'm also keeping the dark walnut blouse with orange flowers and pintucks. Yes it arrived over priced and under pressed but it suits loads of stuff - harlequin dress. Botanical foliage skirt, my Barbara Hepworth skirt. A layer but not a jacket, I think it will work hard when I escape the Shire for city inspiration.
I'm also keeping the 50s graphic blue dress, £65, perfect for Brutalist architectural tours. Sober with a little black cardigan. More fun with a Manos blue tank top.
My sale is done.

mizu · 29/03/2026 09:43

@TosstTastic love your description of the clothes you kept 🩵

IlovePond · 30/03/2026 18:00

Hi guys,

Toast have announced a sample sale at LLandeilo for Saturday 11th-Sunday 12th April.

I am a bit miffed - I could have gone if it was at Shepton Mallet but can’t justify going all the way to Wales for an overnight trip!

Oh well - I was planning on visiting KC this Wednesday, so that will have to do. Having said that, it’s not as good anymore ever since they stopped having permanent sample rails 😿

My night sky jumper arrived today and I put it straight on. I love the little white specks, but definitely understand the washed with a tissue viewpoint too. The sleeves are indeed long, but I also like this. Still waiting for my forest jumper.

Edited to add that I put it on with a (very dark) navy velvet pinafore (from Toast of course) that I recently got new with tags from Vinted and I look so wintery, despite it being April soon. Still, pleased it was cold enough for my new jumper!

Oh, I thought I was going to be useful, but I see that you want someone who has tried both! I only have a Hal - think I got it last year. If it helps, I really hold weight on my upper arms (😩) and have enough space in my usual size, despite it being a factor in other brands (especially cabbages and roses). Don’t know whether the fit is likely to have changed?

mizu · 30/03/2026 18:44

@IlovePond oooh I’ll be back then but also not sure as the last one in Llandeilo was super small.
